You know how, in the show, the Princess could make two pony's love reappear, or come through even when something impeded it? Imagine that power, taken to it's logical conclusion. The love that exists becomes too powerful to ignore or do anything but focus on.

There is quite the difference between sexual attraction and romantic attraction. They often come with the other, but they are not the same thing. They wouldn't necessarily change the frequency of sex.
