Tenshinohana 264 July 25, 2012 Share July 25, 2012 (edited) I made signs for changing rooms - for girls and for boys. So I made MLP-related signs. In the ladies room, there's naturally Rarity... The second one is a random pony. Notice the gentlecolts! Edited July 25, 2012 by Tenshinohana
Jokuc 8,174 July 25, 2012 Share July 25, 2012 Looks great! I love the Rarity one. It has some nice shading too. I like the shading technique where you do those lines. Really well drawn, my friend Are you going to put them up somewhere?

Count Paradox 3,548 July 25, 2012 Share July 25, 2012 well, instead of the random pony for the gentlecolts, why not put big mac on there? I mean, it would seem logical to me. I wanted to try out a pony only with a different pose - if I would've picked Big Mac he'd either have to be in a similar pose with Rarity or then have some apple baskets. Plus, I felt like drawing something dynamic with wings. So random pony it is! (unless I decide to make it Soarin).

Viscra Maelstrom 3,718 July 25, 2012 Share July 25, 2012 eh, i dunno. i mean the calligraphy and drawing is nice, but it seems a bit gender-unequal that the mares room is portrayed with such high class while the gentlecolts room feels very... un-gentle-y. like very rascally and childish-like compared to how classy and elegant Rarity is like on that sign. plus, i think Rarity would not want her name associated with public restrooms but that's another can of worms in itself. i really adore the calligraphy and drawing, though. especially the calligraphy. having a similar classy pony on the genlecolts sign as on the mares sign would be good, though. (although the official mentioning of "ladies and gentlemen" in pony-speech is "fillies and gentlecolts") 1 Soundcloud---------Twitter---------Tumblr---------DeviantArt

HunterTSN 1,444 July 25, 2012 Share July 25, 2012 they are too detailed, they should be really simple like regular signs, but very nice artwork none the less 1 Your very own Victorian-styling, airship-flying, super-sizing, brass-lining, quick-drying, detoxifying, low-pricing, newbie-knifing, over-driving, sometimes-hiding, unsurprising, ninja-fighting, perfect-timing, always-smiling, never-lying, best at writing, also rhyming automaton! Mindrop 412 July 25, 2012 Share July 25, 2012 Or she could do Mares and Stallions instead of fillies and gentlecolts. Either way would work just fine. Psst. I wish I had as good of a hand as your do. I have horrible handwriting and cant draw. 1 Tulpas: Twi, Reales, & Orson.

(although the official mentioning of "ladies and gentlemen" in pony-speech is "fillies and gentlecolts") My point was not to show "this is how he genders should be" or "THIS IS GENDER EQUAL" - my point was to make them as different as possible, and thus, it's these two. It could've been Rainbow Dash and Fancy Pants. Or it could've been something completely else. Like I'd give a damn about gender equality when I feel like drawing. I felt like drawing ponies, and the camp NEEDED signs for changing rooms, so that's why they're like this. they are too detailed, they should be really simple like regular signs, but very nice artwork none the less I refer to my answer just before - I felt like drawing, and the changing room needed signs - not the other way around. So that's why they're not the "simplistic style". If I would've intentionally decided to draw signs, I would've done it in such a style - and especially not with ponies. Because the point of the signs is to part girls from boys, simplistic ones (in ponies) wouldn't have really work - the only difference in structure is, after, all, their nose/face area, and if you aren't an MLP fan, you couldn't really tell them apart. And I think I'm the only brony here. So "no" for simplistic style.
Viscra Maelstrom 3,718 July 25, 2012 Share July 25, 2012 fair point, really. i didn't know you aimed towards them both being different, or that they were supposed to be used in a CAMP (woohoo reading expertise anno 1 ). in that case, i can say you succeeded in doing what their intended purpose were to be. and hey, i have tons of drawn "boys and girls" drawings stuck to the public restrooms in my school, so this makes sense to me, now that i think about it.
