Jacob got on the chopper ready for the survival trip. He was hoping to make some kind of good impression to one of the superior officer's on this trip.

 

(No problem man, but i find it kind of ironic because you went on a camping trip in the wilderness and in the roleplay were pretty much doing that right now.)

Usaf grabbed his gear and shouldered his weapons and did a quick trot over to the helo that had just touched down.

"Get to the CHOPPA." Usaf muttered as he passed K-bar. That was weird, K seemed a little apprehensive of the helo pilot. oh well she might know him or something.

Quick Steed walked to the helicopter and hopped in and thought to himself /great, now K-Bars boss is here, he sounds like he has a huge ego, and wait! Is that a zebra Pegasus? Those exist?/ he prepared himself for what ever came next

*Schwartz raised an amused eyebrow at the Major's appearance.*

"Rather goofy for a superior officer."

*She chuckled quietly as she followed the group onto the rather large hellicopter. It seemed to fit all of them rather well.*

Lucas grabbed everything and followed the others to the chopper, he didnt really listen to what was going on "Please no more bullshit" Climbing into the side of the chopper checking his gear.

"All's aboard that's coming aboard!" Major Ten chimed as he pressed the button, pulling the big ramp back up into the chopper.

 

He hopped over to the controls and plunked himself down in his seat. He looked out the window to see K-Bar saluting him from outside. He saluted back as he gave the chopper some throttle, causing them to lift off the ground.

 

K-Bar watched as the chopper dissappeared off in the distance. "bring 'em back safe, you crazy bastard." she sighed wistfully and began trudging back to the grounds to meet some new recruits. On the way, the secretary intercepted her, looking very worried. She spoke quickly and shakily to K-Bar.

 

K-Bar stared at her, frozen in fear, "you're absolutely sure?". The mare nodded. "well then we have some serious problems.

 

Ten looked back into the cargo area from his seat. "we're dropping in 5 minutes get your parach-" he was interrupted by the radio bursting to life with K-Bar's voice.

 

"No time to explain why. You need to take the troops up to Firebase Frost. I don't have much more time left. It's been an honor, Major Ten"

 

"K-Bar! What's going on?" ... Silence "K-Bar! Answer me! K-Bar!" Ten felt a pit in his stomach as he turned the helicopter around just in time to see a squadron of bombers unleash their payload on their former base. The explosion was massive, and shook the helicopter from where it was located miles away.

 

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Quick Stead was ready to start the survival mission, he still had a chance to prove himself, and show that he could do this, when he was about to put the parachute on, major ten started panicking, then the helicopter rocked and he fell down "wha whats going on?" he stood up "whats going on? what happened?"

Usaf was doing a final check on his equipment. he walked up to the cockpit door and leaned in to ask when the green light was comeing just as he heard the radio conversation. He saw the bombers

 

He ran back to the others "OH SHIT, The training out post has just been hit" He exclaimed

Jacob was sitting close enough to Power Ten to lisen to him talk. He easedropped on the radio transmission. When Power Ten turned the chopper around Jacob just looked at the base as it was bombed. Jacob tryed to keep his balance when the helicopter shook. Jacob could tell that Power Ten was very sad about K-bar being in the base as it was being bombed.

*Schwartz's eyes grew wide with fear and anger as she saw the base get hit.*

"No...."

*She said quietly. She hung her head, trying to conceal the tears running down her face under her mane. She was trembling, with anger and sadness as to what she just witnessed.*

"They wont get away with this."

*She mumbled under her breath.*

Ten did the best he could to hold himself together. "Put back your chutes. We've got a long distance to- BUCKING HELL!" He shouted as he saw a pair of enemy fighters break off from the bomber escort to pursue them. He spun the helicopter north and put them as low to the treetops as they could go (They're over the jungle)

 

"Everypony strap yourselves in!" He shouted as he punched the throttle as far as it would go. The helicopter jerked forward and zoomed along the treetops at a terrifying rate. The enemy jets roared over past them, unwilling to go that close to the foliage. Ten turned around in his seat. "somepony come hold these controls for me!"

Usaf looked up just in time to see the jets zoom by.

"Crap!"

He heard what Ten said but did not think much of it. Flying a machine was much different then flying in aerial combat. wait a second thats not a bad idea. Usaf grabbed his chute and his M240. he loaded the machine gun.

"I'm going out there to try and give us some cover, please keep this thing flying so i have a nice place to land.

Jacob walked up to the controls and took them. "I have a slight amount of experience flying choppers, not much though but enough to control this thing." He keep the chopper flying pretty still. He asked. "Sir, what are you planning on doing exactly. Whats are plan?"

"don't crash" ten stated simply. He reached into a locker behind the pilot's chair and pulled out a stinger missile launcher. He then bucked open the copilot's door and leaned his entire body out of he helicopter, hanging on with one hoof. He sighted one of the jets as it came around for another run.

He heard the confirming beep of a lock-on and fired. The stinger missile shot straight into the cockpit of the enemy jet, killing the pilot instantly. The recoil from the blast caused the launcher to fall out of Ten's hoof, and for him to loose his footing. He was hanging out the side of the helicopter by one hoof. "HELP! Before the other jet makes a pass!"

*Schwartz lept into action and quickly grabbed Ten, pulling him back up into the helicopter.*

"We are NOT going to loose anypony else today! Not If I have anything to say about it."

*She said once Ten was safe inside the helicopter.*

"Come on, we need to get to safety."

Ten took a shaky breath, "thanks" he gasped. He quickly made his way over to the pilot's seat, taking the controls back. His pupils flared as he felt the adrenalin of his near-death encounter rush through him.

(cue "Kickstart my Heart" by Mötley Crüe)

"ooooooh! Yeeeeeah! Baaaaaaybayyyyyy!" Ten shouted as he brought the helicopter around to face the other jet. Without a second thought, he stuck his forleg out the pilot side window and began firing at the jet with a long chrome revolver.

All but one of the bullets missed, the last one punching into the cockpit of the fighter and clipping the pilot's helmet.

 

This was enough for the pilot, who promptly turned tail and raced back to the bomber squadron for backup.

 

"we'd better get the buck out of here" Ten grinned for a moment before remembering why they had to go. As the adrenalin left his body, so did his carefree attitude. "4 hours to our destination" he said as he turned the copter north

*Schwartz turned towards Ten, she had something she needed to ask.*

"Who is it that would do this? Last I remember, Equestria was not at war. So what would provoke this attack?"

*She asked the her new commanding officer. She needed to know what was going on. She hated being in the dark about any information.*

"Well who ever it is, they just handed are ass's to us. And it looks like their trying to start a war. They just destroyed the whole base, we were suppost to get killed just now... If you ask me we should get payback after we go to base and get better armed." If their was something Jacob hated it was getting humiliated.

"Look, I don't know. That attack came from nowhere, and..." he cast a sad look towards Schwartz, "K-Bar was gone before she could say anything."

 

He let out a shaky sigh and remained silent for a few minutes. "we were in a squad together for years... You get real close to ponies during war. It's a different level of trust. When you lose a friend like that, it's just so..." he paused, "difficult. You know?" he gave her his best sad smile.

 

He heard the voice behind him. "recrui- I mean private, it's not up to you what we're gonna do. We're going to firebase frost to await further orders. Now pipe down, we're almost there."

Jacob was glad to hear that he was no longer just a recruit. He was now a private, for a moment he didnt care that their base was blow up. He was finaly begining to move up in ranks. Jacob decided to stay quiet until they arrived at firebase frost. He took a seat.

*Schwartz looked at the ground sadly.*

"I know what you mean."

*She said sadly as she headed back to where the rest of the group was. She sat down in an empty space and stared at the ground, deep in her own thoughts. She hated loosing an ally. Especially when that ally was a bat-winged pegasus like herself. There really were not that many of them around.*

Usaf landed back in the helo.

"well so much for me providing cover, nice shooting tex. Should we send out a small recon in front of us so that we know what we are flying in to for all we know Frost could be under under attack as well"

 

Usaf was worried that they might fly in to a serious St storm and he very much doubted that they had enough training for that.

after all the excitement ended Quick Steed took a deep sigh "kbar, is gone... i never really got to know her,i never even got a chance to talk to her" Quick Steed shook his head "now equestria is at war, by a sudden attack, what has our world come to?" he looked at schwartz "i guess it must feel bad for you, losing a fellow bat pony, i cant even imagine, what hes feeling right now" pointing at ten "the worst part is we dont even know who attacked, how can we get payback if we dont know who to get payback on" he sighed again

"We will find out who did this. Whoever it was obviously doesnt care for subtlety."

*Schwartz said to him.*

"If I know anything about conflict between countries, then I would guess that whoever is responsible for this attack will reveal themselves in due time. And when they do, we will know who to deliver retaliation upon."

Quick Steed shook his head again "but why would anypony want to attack us? ill admit, i havnt kept up with current events, but to my knowledge, we have done nothing wrong, our country hasnt done anything to provoke other nations, i hope we get answers soon"
