OLD!

So I finally tried my hand at vectoring, this particular pony is more of a custom style and isn't too show accurate but I still wanted to show him off and get peoples opinions / advice on my work.

If you have any resources on vectoring in inkscape of tips on how to do certain things, please dont hesistate!

Sorry I couldn't figure out how to use the DA tags properly.

I do a lot of Vector work that I put up in my DA page so if you'd like to see different ways to do Vector's I guess click on my sig to see some of it.

Your image isn't all that bad though the head could be a bit more evenly shaped out. The black outlining in the skin area is okay but the hair stands out way too much; try using an outline with a darker color that matches the hair so it doesn't pop out so much like it is now.

To use DA tags, here's an image I made a while ago for people to see easily.

It's great for your first vector! I don't see any obvious mistakes so that makes it a perfect success!

It's good. If you need help with anything in Inkscape about vectoring you can ask me.

Anyways, I wonder why it is so small. For hq vectors you should export the svg file as an atleast 3000px png.

Thanks for all these great responses. I can really put that information to use! ;)

Also thank you for helping me with the DA tags, I couldn't for the life of me figure them out.

So I did another one, following some tutorials and what not and really paying attention and applying what i had learned from my first one I produced this.

I can't for the life of me get those DA tags to work, I tried posting the last part like it says and it still claims deviation does not exist! :(

I like it! All the lines seem smooth on your vector, no distortion I can see, other than maybe the left hind leg (looks a little off), but that isn't major and hardly noticeable.

Also, I agree with Mr. Pillow. Inkscape is a powerful and effective tool for vectoring. Plus it's free!

Great job overall, keep it up man.
