Star stared at the adventurers as they descended into the darkness of the basement. "Um... Mr. Lapis..." He began. "Not to question your authority or anything, but do you think it was a good idea to split up like this? I mean, it's a rather huge house after all, and we're only five ponies..."

The raccoon had stopped at a door in the middle of the hallway. He arched his back and hissed at the closed door. After that had no effect he began to claw and scratch at the door, with equally little effect.

Lapis sighed. "Fine, if you feel that we should stick together, then I guess we should. No use in getting lost if we split up." Asteria breathed a silent sigh of relief. When she agree to go on this TV show with Lapis, she thought it was going to be fun. She thought that this old place wouldn't scare her. "Alright, since we have an odd number of ponies, we can make a proper vote. I myself vote to examine the source of the noise." Lapis announced. Asteria shook her head. "I vote no. How about we just poke our snouts into the rooms down here? That could be fun. Who knows what might be in any of them."

A loud 'BANG' echoed through the long hallway, followed by the squeal of a raccoon and the sound of a rodent scampering away. After that was more silence. The door that the raccoon was so infatuated with had swung completely open, but it as too far away for the film team to see.

The bang sound almost had Star to faint. But he knew that he was there mainly for the show. Any ghostly and scary activities should be recorded for the sake of his "career", so he had to try his best and build up some courage.

 

"Well, heh... That basement sure looks a lot fun." Star giggled looking at the young, cheerful unicorn. "I guess it's safe to go investigate as long as we all stick together." Star lifted his camera and waited for the other's decisions.

Lapis Lazuli ignored the loud bang. For all he knew, it was probably something set up by the producer. "So, that's two votes for just wandering around. Fine. And you two? What do you wish for us to do? Quillusion, do you still wish to examine the thumping we'd heard a few minutes ago?" In truth, he didn't necessarily care one way of another, but investigating the sound would make for good TV. Lapis was getting paid for this, so he might as feel try his best.

"I would love to investigate that sound. For some reason, it feels as if it just calls out. And besides, it would make this great." She said, still quite scared, but she had to know what that sound was, no matter how scared she was. Besides, this was all TV right, nothing could go wrong.

Well kid, looks like you're outvoted. I'm sure 'Blue' here will hold you hoof, if you want." Spotted Rich joked. He didn't really care what they did, as long as he got paid at the end of it. He might as well a part of the majority.

Shooting Star blushed and looked away for a moment. He knew that everything could be a set-up by the producer, but he also believed in ghosts a bit, and he's also naturally fearful. "I really think we should follow that raccoon and check the loud bang we just heard. Whether these oddities are fake or not, we'd better just play along with them, grab our money and get out of here." He didn't meant to say that out loud, but he was a lot nervous.

Her eyes could see through the thick darkness. As she stood in front of the open door she observed the group's debate. She backed up into the room bhind her and left the door open. She was jealous of them, their coats and skin were pure and uncut.

"Don't call me 'Blue', Now, if we are done wasting time, I say we should move along." Lapis said, quite bored of standing around. Asteria nodded in agreement. She was getting anxious and the longer she waited, the more her fear began to rise. As long as she was in motion, the less likely Asteria would let her surroundings get to her. Lapis and Asteria began to head in the direction of the noise. Hopefully the others would hop to it and follow.

She waited in the dark room. She wanted the others to join her, she planned on it, but she did not want to see their faces again. Their faces were too pure, too perfect. It wasn't fair! She had once been as beautiful as them. She still had her beautiful, glassy, emerald green eyes, her flawless baby blue coat, and her long, silky, black mane; but her mouth was covered by a surgical mask that she dared not remove. It covered her shame, the permanent mark that her past had cursed her with.

"Sorry..." Star lifted his camera with his right wing and began to follow the group. He knew he was being a bother to them, because of his uncontrollable fear. But Rich's jokes were still echoing through Star's mind. He just hoped that the noises they had heard were all made up by the producer himself, and that they finished their job as soon as possible.

Spotted Rich grinned, pleased with himself that he'd finally gotten a reaction from somepony. As he followed the 'The kid' and 'Blue,' he wanted to start thinking up names for the other two ponies in the group, but he he found himself thinking about what could be causing the noise.

 

Perhaps some unicorn had put a spell on the house to scare ponies? Maybe there was a pony squatting in the house? No matter what it was, he was sure he could handle it.

She began to grow impatient of the investigators' procrastination. She tapped her hoofs on the ground just loud enough for them to hear. eventually curiousity would get the better of them, eventually they would come.

Quillusion looked around. She could have sworn she had heard something. It had sounded like some pony was tapping there hooves, but it definatly was not coming from in the group. "Did you hear that?" She asked the others in the group, hoping she wasn't going crazy. It was most likely the producers again, trying to scare them.

"Seriously!? More weird noises!?" Star almost lost his sanity once again. He looked behind him to see Rich's sarcastic look. *ahem* "I mean... Yes, I heard it as well, Quillusion. More interesting noises." He even changed his voice tone, trying to avoid yet another disappointment from his companions. "Sounds like it's coming from there." Star pointed his camera at the wide-open door in the middle of the hallway.

 

The cold breeze could be felt coming from the pitch black room, and the sound was indeed similar to pony hooves. "...So!! Who wants to go first?? Hehehe!~" The effort to keep himself calm was useless.

"I will of course. Asteria, I'd like you to stay here." Lapis said loudly. He felt like whatever it was, most certainly something set up by the producer, he needed to announce his presence to it. Asteria, a bit wide eyed nodded, but didn't understand. Lapis wanted to go in alone to prove there was nothing to fear in this house. Well, except maybe a few loose boards or something falling on them. Not wanting to waste anymore time, the blue stallion marched straight into the room from which the odd noises had issued from. Spotted Rich decided he wasn't going to let 'Blue' act brave without cracking wise. "Wait up. Don't even think about of getting eaten by ghosts without someone there to film it." He turned to give Asteria a quick wink and followed Lapis Lazuli into the room, camera in front of him.

"Fine, do as you wish." Lapis said, looking from left to right, making sure there weren't any dangers. He walked forward with stride. He tried his best for the camera, but basically ignored it. The light in here was very dim. "Spotted, turned on whatever lights you have." The sooner he found out the mystery, the quicker he could move on.

As they filmed, the mare with the surgical mask crept from the shadows and shambled to the center of the room. Although she was now in plain sight, she couldn't be seen through the camera lenses. She had her glassy green eyes set on Spotted Rich and pointed at him her right front hoof, waiting to see his reaction.

The sudden appearance of the mare startled Lapis, but he reminded himself it was most likely an actor. "What is that thing?" he asked, trying to play along. The 'ghost' did not look very convincing. She was just a mare with a surgical mask. How was this supposed to scare anyone? Lapis drew closer, hoping that Spotted Rich was getting a good shot of the action.

The two ponies had vanished inside the darkness of the room. Nothing could be heard or seen from the outside, so Star assumed that they had found nothing worthwhile. "So? You guys ready to move on??" He shouted, in a quite annoying way.

Quillusion waited, wondering if they had found anything worthwhile. Hopefully they had and gotten it on film, but it wasvery unlikely they had. "Have you found anything?" She called into the room. She was unable to see in there, but she was now very curious and wanted to go in for herself.

The mare in the surgical mask lowered her hoof and stood still for a moment. She spoke to Spotted Rich in a soft, hushed tone. "Do you think I'm pretty?" She asked. She moved slightly closer to the camera pony.
