First off, this is probably in the wrong section, but just tell me where it should be... Anyway, I know we're all bronies, right? (or at least we SHOULD all be bronies)... but anyway, what if we had a name for people on MLP Forums? Not something like Forumers, or any run-of-the-mill name like that, but something like how Mweor has Mweorians? Just a thought, let me know what you think!

We are a part of the brony community, so no, we should stay as bronies. Separation causes unrest. Other people would start to resent us for changing our "titles." I wouldn't like this at all, this is not the only pony site that I frequent and I am just as big a part of those as I am this one. Take America for example. We are all Americans, but we divide ourselves into Republicans and Democrats which can lead to some serious arguments and prejudice towards the other. We are all bronies, standing together.

Different forum-goers get their own names because a culture forms around the forum. There isn't really an MLP Forums culture, we're just some bronies who found a cool site. Now, if we get huge, and some other MLP-themed forums get huge, and the people who go to one act a lot different than those who go to another, then the fandom itself will probably start naming them to differentiate. We can't just name ourselves because we want to, that'd be stupid and arrogant.

That and I honestly don't know. The problem is MLP Forums is quite generic and awkward to transmute into a citizen name of sorts. Although it would be fun to try.

 

It's just not like Yogscast fans are Yognaughts, or Hat Films fans are called Hatters. Because those names are easier.

I don't think we should abandon the name we currently use to define our fandom. Not saying your idea is bad, as it could aid in possible in real life meet ups or something, but we should all be glad to be under the sun for our love for ponies.

That's not what I meant. We can still be called bronies, but I think we should also have a more specific name, ya know, like "Network Ponies" or something like that.

meh, i dont think we really need new names. dont see the real reason to get new names just we post on the forums.
