How many ponies live in ponyville? equestria as well.

I am kind of curious.. I mean it is a little easier to figure out how many pegasi live in ponyville because of the tornado. Rainbow Dash had a goal of 1000 wingpower -- if she got her goal of 10 per that would mean about 100 pegasus.

 

We see a lot of ponies in "everybody smile smile smile" and with the gatherings etc.

 

I am leaning towards about 400 earth ponies, 150 unicorns, 100 pegasus, and a few misc others.

 

This makes pinkies feat all the more impressive because that is significantly higher than Dunbar's Number with regard to social interactions.

Equestria is a little harder -- I mean there seem to be at least 20 "places" in equestria, some of which significantly larger than ponyville. My guess here is about 50,000 which actually seems quite a small population overall.

I think Ponyville is a town of about 400... I honestly don't think it's that big. I think it's like what Fort Wayne is to Indianapolis (simulating Canterlot).

I think that you are right about Ponyville but i think maybe 100,000 in Equestria total because Canterlot is huge and so is Manehattan. and then there are a ton of other large cities that i think at least 2,000 live in.

Well according to the census that was taken during 2010 you can see that equestrian contained approximately 42,746 creatures. Now if we combine that number with the birth rates and death rates from that year. We can extrapolated that there should be approximately 63,800 creatures give or take 5,000.

I'd guess there are roughly 450 ponies in Ponyville. However in all of Equestria, I'd say the total population is around 75,000.
