They both got ready to fly.

"Then to the town it is!" she said ecstatically.

Shade: well then... I can't wait to see those tricks! Lets get this started!

 

Shade got ready to dash... She felt the lightning energy through her wings... She couldn't wait to have a taste of speed after being trapped for 2 years..

 

Shade: on your mark rainbow... And let's try to keep it to 1 rainboom/ thunderboom... Wouldn't want to scar Anypony... Hahaha

Rainbow crouched low, she was ready.

"on my mark...get set..................GO!"

The two were off in a flash, both faster than their usual, they both wanted victory, this last moment of fame.

They were already both going faster than another pegasi could possibly fly, no pony else even had a wing power over 9.5 but these two.

Shade flying soooo fast.... She looked over to rainbow

 

Shade: so you think your faster than light? Just don't forget... I "Am" lightning!

 

Saying that shade zipped ahead of rainbow... Not by far but enough to just get her working!

 

She loved the speed... But she still has dark thoughts about her father... That slowed her down...

(light= 3e8 km/s, lightning (electricity) = 3e5 km/s *Physics buff* i'll let it slide)(electricity in the proper setting is 96% speed of light at max)

 

Rainbow turned to shade

"We'll let's put that to the test" as she began to push ahead

Shade seemed taken back by something and began to slow down.

wynter was trotting along the path until a bolt of rainbow and lightning zoomed past overhead

"faust!"

he managed to call out before the gust of draft blew him over.

Parso sat in a hottub in the spa trying to unwind until a thought randomly hit him. 'oh sweet lauren faust! i killed my own father-in-law, i hope shade doesnt try to kill me for it'. he shivered even though the tub water was warm

Shade saw rainbow push ahead, she shook herself out of it and started charging her thunderboom...

 

Shade: ok rainbow... My time in the clouds has made me learn a few things... Such as turning into a lightning bolt... I don't think il do that because I don't think it's youl be able to keep up if I do! Hmhmhmhm

"Can't keep up eh!?" she said angrily.

They both continued to fly quicker and quicker the pace grew.

Rainbow saw Wynter below and he was gone in a blink of an eye.

parso got the image of having his wings bound and dropped off the highest point in equestria in his head but quickly shook it off, he was sweating and still shivering.

"S class eh?" she pondered for a moment. "not even the wonderbolts could hit that..." she grinned to herself.

Shade seemed to be starring off into space, now slowing down again.

"Shade?" rainbow shouted to her but she didn't seem to notice.

Shade had a vision... Then sayed

 

Shade: that wasn't him?

 

Shade's eyes shocked open... Her thunderboom exploded turning her into a lightning bolt... Shooting past rainbow... And heading towards ponyville...

Rarity: oh... Oh right... Well that's a problem... Maybe you could say you didn't do it??

"hey!" rainbow dash yelled

Rainbow dash hit the rainbow barrier and did a sonic rainboom (ah light breaking... don't worry i nerfed it.)

She was still a ways off from shade...

"well i had hoped i wouldn't have to use what the rainbow factory had taught me... but i think this calls for a drastic measure!"

Rainbow closed her eyes. The air around her became thin, the low pressure caused little resistance and her speed increased.

She tucked in her wings as she began to whiz up to shade's position.

When she opened her eyes she was neck and neck with shade. Never had she gone this fast before... It felt great.

"What the hay is going on shade!?"

Shade looked at rainbow who was going soooooooooo fast.... The electricity prevented shade from speaking... So she just flashed forward...

 

Ponyville was getting bigger and bigger... Shade and rainbow were nose by nose... Who will win? she thought...
