Is this bad?

So far I've watched 42 out of 52 episodes, and I've only heard 2 songs so far! The flim flam song, and pinkies short cupcake song, but I hear the songs are really good. Should I go back and hear them or finish the season first?

Agreed, go and rewatch a few episodes, the songs are there! Like Twinkie pie's "welcome, welcome, welcome!" Song which pretty darn awesome. :3

This seems like a completely pointless question. You ask if you should go back to listen to songs you consciously chose to skip for whatever reason, or to finish the last stretch of the season. In the end it really doesn't matter which you do. I think you should listen to all the songs at some point, whether that be on Youtube or in the actual episodes, but it doesn't matter which order you do it in.

How could you misspell or mishear a name like Pinkie Pie? I will agree that the welcome song is pretty awesome but there are by far better ones. Like Smile Smile Smile, BBBFF, Winter Wrap Up, This Day Aria, Art of the Dress, So Many Wonders, Singing Telegram..etc

How could you jump through randomly? That's a little strange...I always enjoy starting a show from the beginning. It would be like watching Breaking Bad season 4 then going to season 1. It's just a little strange.

At first I thought that the songs would be like almost every other song in a cartoon, lame. But t my surprise I found that the songs had that old Disney feel to them. They're just awesome!

 

So yeah, you HAVE TO listen to them.

Before watching anymore episodes, you should probably go back and listen to the "big" songs, such as Winter Wrap Up, At the Gala, Art of the Dress or Find a Pet. Small Pinkie Pie jingles such as Singing Telegram or Twilight is my Best-est friend are skip-able unless you have a lot of time to spare (I think listening to all of the songs in a row takes about 30-50 minutes or so...)

 

Also, never skip songs again. You're not only missing out on a good song, but also a chunk of the story as well. Once you get to Canterlot Wedding, you'll see. For example, the songs showcase some of the best animation in the show, and sometimes carry major plot points.

 

I get not liking musical numbers, but you should give a song a chance before completely skipping it all together.

There are three ways you can do this:

 

a ) Go back and watch all of the episodes again immediately. this seems to be what most ponies here suggested.

b ) Continue to the end, then immediately re-watch without skipping. This is what I would suggest.

c ) Decide you don't care and continue skipping the songs. (warning, every time you skip a song your favorite pony cries)

Man, if you've only heard those 2 songs, you haven't heard nothin' yet! Although the Flim Flam Brothers Song is great and the cupcake making song is fine, if you haven't heard the other songs in the series, you're missing out on what I think is part of what makes this show so great- it's wonderful songs! I highly recommend you listen to all the show's music, it's truly the best of any current animated show in my opinion.
