Ron Jeremy 2,032 January 28, 2012 Share January 28, 2012 You see, there's actually a completely logical system. The pegasus social structure is like this: Female pegasi are seen as "inferior" since the Pegasus race is a race of fighters, and females are seen as less physically able to fight. After the female pegasus gives birth, the father leaves and the newborn pegasus eats her for sustenance and raises themselves. If they are male, they grow into male warrior pegasi. When they are female, they prepare to give birth to a new pegasus and be eaten. Male pegasi are the stronger of the species, and the female are the weaker. This is why all of Celestia's guard is male, and why so many female pegasi act like boys. Actually, I just made that all up. I have a feeling it's just coincidence there really haven't been any pegasus parents shown. One episode or another, there will probably be mention of a pegasus parent. The thought of pegasi abandoning their fillies and colts seems a little grim for My Little Pony, don't you think?

Ron Jeremy 2,032 January 28, 2012 Share January 28, 2012 It's kinda a rip from how spiders do. That's kind of what I was going for. The reality is probably far less grim than that. A much more logical explanation would be that they are like snakes, and born pretty much as miniature adults, with no need for parents, and go straight to living on their own. Even that would be wierd, though, considering that Pound Cake is a baby pegasus, and needs taken care of.
