Everyone Has Donor Perks?

I just noticed how people magically got donor perks. I'm just curious if they are going to last forever but are they going to swiped after the birthday?

 

I know it's the forums birthday and all but don't you think it's slightly unfair for the people who donate for the perks? Before you say "Donating isn't all about the perks, it's about supporting the site instead." because this thread isn't related to that.

Additionally, donor perks were never meant to be perceived as a benefit or measure of superiority of sorts - people pay to help the site out, rather than for trivial perquisites, after all.

If we're talking about measures of unfairness with respect to a system that has never intended to rank people or form a member hierarchy, it really is quite related.

Giving everyone on the site donor perks temporarily is our way of thanking everyone here that has helped to make this community a wonderful success every step along the way of this past year. I highly doubt that it will especially when it's the forums birthday and I'd assume everyone deserves to be a donor during the birthday. *Sarcasm*

 

I'm just afraid that all the muffins are going to abuse this perk, that's all. Here's a suggestion, swipe all the things the non-donors did with their subscriber perks and let the donors themselves keep it. If they have donated in the past, let them keep it as usual.

These additional perks they've obtained all stop when this week period ends. It doesn't mean their titles and whatnot will go away, but it does mean they'll lose the ability to edit them anymore unless they become a donor or subscriber. Your concern is understandable, but in my mind, it's not such a big issue that this generous donation to all of this forum's community needs to be cleared away. If the occasional person here and their misuses their perk, they'll get reported and dealt with, just like the dozens upon dozens of normal post reports that the staff get daily.
