Trench began gathering a suitable work force to do hefty building. Flood barriers, lightning rods, gutters: those were the first thing he could think to do. With vague instructions. He began to do everything he could. One stallion from a tool shop had generously donated a supply of shovels, making the work possible.

 

Determining that there was nothing to do, Cumulus went back to sleep again.

 

Shelby approached Captain Trench and stood in an attractive way.

"Anything you need me to do, Captain? I feel useless, and I don't like that."

 

The adrenaline Martin had been feeling turned to fear as he looked down for the first time and saw the ground thousands of feet below them. He held himself close to Greylight and blushed as he realized how 'intimate' they would appear to any passerby.

 

They were coming up to the mountain that served as the dungeon "Thank Celestia ((OOC: dangit, there isn't a Celestia yet)) goodness" the thought.

 

She cruised into the mountain, noticing that Martin was holding on tightly.

"Scared? Or did you just enjoy the ride?"

Names Windscar. Im one of the best fliers this city has ever seen. And you dont have to worry about me CB, i can hold my own. And even tho your paper says nothing about two ponies going doesnt mean anyone has to know about two ponies going. This way if something does happen they will take me and not you. You may not know this kid but.....Your one of the most important pegasus we have here. WS was trying to flatter CB into letting go. So i will be a willing sacrifice for you.

Thanks if you're willing to save me like that, but I guess it's alright if I let you go, but you haven't been issued anything," Cherry Blossom replied as she got more clouds together and started making a larger cloud to hold and hide both of the ponies.

Splinter had been reading his files. And to his surprise, he was supposed to be helping Cherry Blossom. ((OOC: Is that okay?)) ''Well, that was certainly a surprise. I guess I should have followed her while I still could have.'' Splinter said while face hoofing. ''Time to go find her and tell her.'' Splinter said.

Once Greylight landed, Martin got off and replied "Both actually. I think I'm going to need some time to get used to that" Martin turned around and faced inside the cave where all the cells were. It was dark in there and the only light source was from the cave entrance "So umm... do you know where my stuff is?" Martin smiled sheepishly

"I'm an important pony? Oh my, nopony told me that, except for you. Its alright. All i need is the cloud. My coat somewhat blends in with the darkness of night. And besides.....you didnt hear it from me but.....The Commander really likes you. He doesnt let it show but he would be devastated if something were to happen to you. So just think of me as...Your personal body guard for this mission.

"Wait which commander are you t-talking about? We have a lot of commanders here in Pegalopolis, c-considering our culture." Cherry Blossom put the finishing touches on the cloud, but added a bit more material onto it, just in case. "It's going to be very cold up there, I think you should wear something warm."

''CHERRY! CHERRY!'' Splinter yelled while flying through the clouds. ''I hope she didn't get caught. Although I highly doubt it.'' Splinter said while flying to find her. ''I probably would get caught first.'' Splinter said while rolling his eyes. I don't know if it would be because I would make rain by mistake and they would see me, or if I would accidentally send my mouth rocketing off.

"Sure. Just follow me, and stay close."

She started walking down the hallway, turning left to enter a downward staircase.

"If you would like, I can help you fly, so to speak. I can arrange others to help you fly when I'm not available, if you would like."

She turned around and smiled at him.

Cherry Blossom turned to the sound of Splinter yelling her name. "S-Splinter? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be doing your assignment or something?" she tipped her head slightly downwards to the right while just blankly staring at Splinter.

''Well, I'm actually supposed to be helping you! What do you know!'' Splinter said while flying over to Cherry Blossom and smiling. ''It's a little irrelevant. But at least they gave me one good reason! They said they just drew my name out of a hat. But I bet it was more than just that!'' Splinter said he put his hoof up triumphantly.

Giving CB a sly look....Well id rather not say names. But lets just say he may not show it. But i see all the signs. But dont let him know that you know. He may be strong and bold on the outside but hes a big softy with a big heart on the inside. Hops on the cloud. Iv been in colder. I also work in the prison from time to time. And it is freezing in there.

 

(OOC: my bad yall i fixed it. In an rp im in she was a he and i thought the same here. guess i need to read mor carefully )

Cherry Blossom smiled at him, "Well then that's great news Splinter!"

She started getting more clouds nearby to be able to hold all three of the ponies, but a thought went to her head. What if she divided the 3 into separate clouds? Cherry Blossom started removing parts of the giant clouds to three normal looking ones. Each pony would ride on one while being safely hidden. Cherry Blossom turned to Splinter and asked him, "I think you should wear something warm. I-It's going to be pretty cold up in the skies."

But she grew silent from what she had heard from Windscar.

 

((OOC: Isn't Commander Hurricane a female? I mean Nightfall's OC Greylight is female right? ))

5 months earlier...

 

Lemon Scarlet jumped up from her bed, well rested, but that was never a good thing when attending military academy. She scurried over to her closet and strung her trusty crossbow around her neck before throwing the door of room 117 open and galloping down the white, narrow hallways. She hissed to herself, thinking that she should be among the unicorn officials now, taking their time sipping their tea or whatever they drank in their free time.

 

She took a sharp in hit her flank as she turned a sharp turn to the right and slammed into the door of another room, not wasting precious time looking at the door number. She burst out the hall door into the courtyard, which at that point was empty. In the rush, when she looked up at the blinding sun, or at least near it, she couldn't calculate the time, so she rushed inside to the dojo, where she was due to go at 1000, military time.

 

Lucky guess, she thought to herself as she burst in and the other unicorns stopped what they were doing and they stared at her. The instructors' eyes narrowed before he said to her, "Why are you late trainee?"

 

I've been here longer than you, Hay Face, she thought, before replying confidently, "Personal reasons, sir." She rushed to her place and turned to him, but he wasn't where he was a few moments ago. In fact, surprisingly, he was behind her.

 

"You can take care of your 'personal reasons' when you graduate from military camp," he growled at her, before slowly returning to his prior location. "Stance 5, back-left hoof kick, underswipe, return to stance 5. Now!"

 

Lemon Scarlet reluctantly did the movements, angrily staring at the unicorn at the front as she held her hooves up in the 5th ready position.

Today...

 

"Good to be out of there," she told her friend when she moved up into the Unicorn army. Every unicorn had their own personal place, hers being the 10th row and the seventh column, battalion number 5. She still didn't have many weapons, only a crossbow and a close combat knife. The rows, columns and so on were only for marching and impressing the unicorns who spent their time at home, nice and comfy. Other than that, it was mostly everypony for themselves. Good for her. At least she got to shoot them down from behind a rock. She hadn't actually fought yet, and she couldn't wait until she got the chance, and the life of a soldier was decent as well.

 

Just at that moment, she was sitting in the café, in the far corner, sipping her hot chocolate and staring out the window. there wasn't much to see, anyway. Just a few rocks, and to the left, another part of the castle. She was grateful for the hot chocolate, and it had only cost her 3 bits. She finished it up and wiped up the table, in a good mood because she had gotten away from the old camp. She planned to head to the training facility to see if she could still hit the target, but she decided against it. Earlier that morning, she had done it, and she was fine, brilliant, in fact. Nopony could stop her. Her knife throwing and stabbing was decent too, even if it could be better but that didn't matter. She was in the official army.

WS knew she should not have gone that far. Now she had to come up with something on the fly. She was looking at Splinter and then back the CB. Whispering in CB's ear.....Well lets just say my description may have been a tad bit off. Cutting her eyes and pointing one of her back indirectly at Splinter. But you didnt hear it from me. Back to normal speaking voice. So well now that we are all here, you think we should get this show on the road?

''That seems like one of the most simple things I could ever do!'' Splinter said. ''So, are we right below them or something? I don't want my big mouth to get both of us caught.'' Splinter said while frowning. ''Oh! And I forgot. Didn't you tell me to wear something warm?'' Splinter said while cocking an eyebrow. ''I'm fine. I've always been cold. I mean, with making rain and stuff.'' Splinter said.

Letrix still stood there looking emotionless waiting for the Unicorn meeting to end. "I thought being promoted to a high class bodyguard would be more exciting than this. I should have taken the promotion I was offered months ago to become a spy but instead I have this boring job. If only something interesting would happen." Letrix thought to himself rather bored.

"Sure. Just follow me, and stay close."

She started walking down the hallway, turning left to enter a downward staircase.

"If you would like, I can help you fly, so to speak. I can arrange others to help you fly when I'm not available, if you would like."

She turned around and smiled at him.

 

Martin smiled back at her "No thank you. There won't be any need for somepony to fly me around that much once I've got my stu-" Martin was cut off by Greylight's flank which he bumped into when she suddenly stopped at the bottom of the stairwell. There was a small locked wooden door in front of them.

Surge was done prepping the ambassadors on what to do. They knew what to give in on and when to stop as well. And remember if they get out of hand just leave. I will deal with them after that. Yes sir. We shall return in a few days. And we hope with Captain Martin. Hopefully....Well its in your hooves now. Farewell and good luck.

As they left the city Surge knew they were in the hooves of the Earth gods now.

Cherry Blossom nodded at Splinter and got on her cloud. "I think we should start going now. We'll probably make it to the Earth Ponies' kingdom by nightfall," she said to them as she her cloud started moving. Cherry Blossom turned to Windscar and asked, "Do you know anything else about this pony?" ((OOC: Using a phone. Being in a car makes me so nautious.))

''Cloud, AWAY!'' Splinter said while smiling and hopping on his cloud. ''WHOOOOO!'' Splinter said while his cloud move at a medium pace. ''I love doing this!'' Splinter said. ''Even though I've done it like, 20,000 times. It's still so fun to go this fast on a CLOUD!'' Splinter said while grinning.

"Remember, don't go at way fast speed or we'll be caught. We have to make sure we seem like normal clouds at night," Cherry Blossom said to Splinter as her cloud gracefully moved. She stopped and waited for Windscar to follow, but she realized something, "Oh Splinter this is Windscar. Windscar this is Splinter."

Cherry Blossom nodded at Splinter and got on her cloud. "I think we should start going now. She was just making things up as she observed Splinter. Well...hes a really funny colt after you get to know him. He is one of the most trustworthy colts in our fleet. Some may over look his ability to get the job done. But when his name is called to do something he is always there. In thought...Man im running out of things to say. Maybe i should try to shift focus. So what else do you have to do on this mission? Looking to Splinter...Its nice to being going on this mission with you.
