~Sugar Sprinkles~ 638 October 17, 2012 Share October 17, 2012 Have you ever made a really bad mistake that made your friend upset? Have you ever lost them after that and never gained them back? Just go out about the worst mistake you have made to an old/recent friend. Share a story. Simple enough!
InfinityWhale 771 October 17, 2012 Share October 17, 2012 Here's my schpiel on this topic: its just not possible. Okay, yeah, if I go out and shoot my friend's mother he's probably not gonna speak to me again. But apart from that, there are no wrongs that I think are so great that they can't be overcome. Its largely a matter of whether both people think its worth it. If I sleep with my friend's girlfriend, they aren't going to be happy. But if I truly realize where I made my mistake, and discuss it with them, I think it can be overcome. The world is a big, cold, uncaring place. That just means that the connections we form with people become that much more important. I can't afford to give up a friend. Its hard enough to make them and painful enough to lose them. If you put forth the effort, and both people are willing to cooperate, anything is possible. To say that "I screw up" or "I can't make this better" isn't fatalism. Its just flat out lazy. They are your friend. Go and hammer things out if their friendship is worth it. Frayed Logic | Wits End | Light Eye
I used to be a stranger 7,993 October 17, 2012 Share October 17, 2012 Still ongoing story with my younger sister. For those who have known me a while (that is, addressing longer-served members of this forum) they'd know I'm a pretty amiable and good-natured user, but I like anyone else have problems I deal with, and a big one for me is the fact that, well, long story short my sister isn't the best friend she used to be. This is one of the reasons why B.B.B.F.F. in S2E25 A Canterlot Wedding sort of hurt to listen to.
Dimitri Hammer 3,645 October 17, 2012 Share October 17, 2012 I lost my so called "friends" after they stabbed me in the back when I needed help. They betrayed me and I never spoke to them again. Now it's a long complicated story about what I did for them and what happened before and after. All I'll say is that it all started when my wife died. The rest hurts to talk about. FlareChaser0096 142 October 17, 2012 Share October 17, 2012 My ex-friend blew up in my face when I told her that I'd been feeling left out, since she'd always talk about how much fun she was having, how she was in love, and sending me pictures of her with her friends. So she called me names and cussed at me and now treats me like a brick wall. There are always people like this- the ones with egos. (which makes me sound like I have an ego... meh) They're just a fact of life and you can't let them bother you, because that's their goal. The best revenge is being happy and moving on. Hard, but doable. Love and tolerate, and live by it. No, this is not a Hallmark card. I'm just incredibly sappy. ^o^ The best revenge is happiness.
