Celestia's hair color?

I don't know if anyone else is wondering this too or if its just me but why, when people make fan art of Celestia and Luna as fillys they always make Celestia s mane and tail pink? why is it not the respective rainbow color it should be?

 

I'm sure it's already been stated, but I'll repeat it.

In the book intro in the first episode, we see Luna with light blue hair and Celestia with pink.

When Luna was freed, she had light blue hair like the book. Then when she came back she had floaty sparkle hair like Celestia.

 

The theory goes like this:

When Luna came back she was completely drained and reverted to a younger "weaker" looking version of herself.

After some time to heal, she grew back to her large sparkly self. If this is the case, it's assumed that the same thing could happen to Celestia.

So when they're depicted as young and not very powerful, people give them pink and light blue hair.

so why doesn't twilight have sparkly flowey hair, if she is the element of magic? Whe didn't even have flowey hair when she absorbed all of the alicorn magic..

Ascended alicorn instead of natural-born, immortal one. It's also possible that physical changes like that take time.

We didn't see Luna for MONTHS after she got back from the moon.

 

Twilight only had that magic for like two days.

Like wise, Luna and Celestia were only without their magic for a couple days.

well right after she absorbed it her mane was all sparkley and flowey.. so she is certainly CAPABLE of it - but then it all calmed down.. so it's all rather confusing..

Just tossing another possibility out there, but when the Mane 6 unlocked their "rainbow powers" in the battle against Tirek, they all gained, multi-colored flowing manes too.  Is it possible that, for that brief period of time, they were tapping into some kind of "next level" stage of being that only the highest order of alicorns like Celestia and Luna occupy?  And if this is so, can we surmise that Cadance and Twilight might develop elaborate manes as well in the future?

Seriously, especially fluttershys hair all remind me of fancy toothepaste.

 

Lunas reminds me of the sparkley childrens toothepaste you used to get at the dentist.. ah how I loved that stuff..

I know that in episode S4 parts 1 and 2 we see how celestia banished nightmare moon. But what if they actually only looked like their present selves in twighlight's point of view? What if back when celestia actually banished luna, her hair was pink like in the book in the beginning? Could it be that when she used the elements of harmony her hair changed colors from the blast? It would make sense seeing as the colors of the elements of harmony look a lot like the colors in celestia's hair? I don't know.....

my guess it relies on power, notice how when Luna came back she had normal light blue hair but later gained the ethereal stars? the same is likely for Celestia but with pink

I saw the question but never read all the answers so if someone already explained it then i'm sorry for repeating it. The depiction of Celestia in Twilights book "the tale of the two sisters" in the first episode has a pink mane and tail. But nightmare moon also had red eyes. I'm guessing the original plan was to give her a pink mane and tail but it was dropped in favor for less "girly" colors. And maybe the regie noticed that red eyes might be to scary looking for little kids. Or something. That's my theory.

Because in S1 E1 The pictures in the book of the two sisters, Celestia’s hair was shown pink before bringing Luna to the moon
