Making this probably took me about, an hour and a half.

 

 

 

I put a lot of work into this and I would really appreciate some constructive criticism, so I can improve my skills.

Not bad at all! I'm not really much of an artist, so I can't really criticize much. (The only thing I could possibly mention is that the diamond block looks a little off compared to the "camera angle" so to speak, but that's just me.)

constructive criticism, I´ll try my best:

about your OC´s body: the proportions of the torso are great, only thing is I would try to make the wings a bit smaller to fit better, but maybe this is wanted (tell me please). About the neck... It is a bit too long for the body and the head (including the ear) is a bit too big for her torso. The nose, well, it could be a bit more round, but that is up to every artist on his/ her own .

 

I dn´t wanna criticize the rest of the picture much, I never played minecraft before but you could maybe work a bit on trying to make it look "deeper" working with shading does wonders.

 

 

Maybe your possiblities are bound by the medium you use, for I prefer a free style (drawing by hand) I can´t compare myself to that

you know, I could say million of things about this artwork but the only things that really bug me and that are not acceptable, how long the neck is and that the eyes are not big enough and they are not centered on the face, like the MLP style.

 

after that, the drawing is pretty acceptable

@@Key Lime Pie, I did a bit of photoshop on your drawing and I fixed (I wouldn't call this fix XD ...let's say improved XD) your artwork with the things I told you

I fucked up the background, photoshop noob here XD

Shading is difficult, and ponies have no third dimension. I don't think we need to get into shading just yet as I think our pony proportions can be improved.

 

But... drawing something entirely show-accurate is still difficult albiet not as hard as mastering shading. Even if you are not interested in show accuracy, drawing them show-style should help you know which parts of your original pony style is different from show style.

 

Right now, what I'm seeing is is a long neck, thin front legs, small eye that's placed a bit far in front of the head, large flank, and wings angled rather high. I believe the best way to learn how to draw ponies is to get a picture of a pony, and copy that by eye. You'll get more accurate pony proportions into memory this way.

Your skills are amazing! The only thing I can find wrong with the picture is the way the pony is holding the pick axe. Don't you think it would be a little hard to mine holding it upside down? (keeping in mind that the pony would have difficulty holding it right side up as well)
