Sand lowers his head a couple of inches out of shyness. "My name is not terribly important. I just arrived in these parts a couple of days ago due to... business. I've been shut up in my room for a couple of days because of it and I admit it has been hard on my sleep." Shuffling his hoofs again, he glanced around the myriad of crystals that seemed to be incoporated into anything and everything possible, even the food. He made sure that his hood was kept over his head to disquise his magic horn. Ponies were generally accepting of the wings, but the horn and wings often led to problems. Some treated him as not quite a pony, making him feel ashamed at times. Looking around those assemmbled, he didn't think it would be wise right this moment.

"Oh. Ummm, I was just looking for some raw crystals to test a theory about flying machines I came up with. Sorry if I came off as being too outgoing... Nice hood, by the way." Bronze looked at the pegasus. "Say, maybe you could help me! I'm looking for rainbow colored crystals, mainly. If I'm correct, those would have the most magic in them, and I could finally finish my suit!!!"

[Brazen Gears 7]

"Hey, could you help me out?" Brazen says to a brown colored pony with a red, spiked mane. "It seems I have run out of bits for buying some climbing and mining gear and I was wondering if I could borrow some bits from you. Don't take it like I am stealing from you, I don't like to beg- ASK for money but I am kinda in a dire emergency."

[Bronze Statue 9]

"Sure, no problem. You're staying at that ridiculously overpriced hotel too, huh?" Bronze Statue rummages though his bag, and pulls out 20 bits. "Here you go. I'm not sure exactly how much that gear costs. I hope that will be enough." Bronze pauses for a second. "Wait, you're a miner? And a pegasus? That's so awesome! Maybe you could help me! I'm looking for a certain type of crystal that could help my flying suit work if I'm right, but I haven't been having any luck in the marketplace. Maybe we could look in a cave or mine for it together! I'm Bronze Statue, by the way. What's your name?"

Bronze turns to the other pegasus he was talking to -the one he ran into- and says "If you want, you can come, too!"

San quietly watched the pony named Bronze Statue chatter to a Pegasus that walked into the store. Bronze's fascination with pony wings made him a bit uncomfortable. Yeah, they were cool and all, but everypony knew about Pegasi in some manner. On the other hand Sand was an oddity in almost any landscape. When he was asked if he wanted to come along, he was hesitant to either accept or deny the offer. It would certainly be interesting to see if this 'flying suit' truly worked. The risk involved in such an endeavor was also fairly high. Eventually he nodded at Bronze to give his assent.

N walked around the bazzar, looking for something to eat. Coming upon a blue tent, he found some baked rolls for sale. "Excuse me, but can I have some rolls?" N said, as he approached. The shopkeeper quickly threw the roll on a plate, handed it to N, and flew away. Looking at his cutie mark (Team Plasma symbol), he sighed. "Why does everypony have a thing against ponies with a cutie mark like mine?" he thought, sitting down at a table. All of a sudden, he remembered something his father told him. "Son, with your cutie mark, you are now one of the many members of the small group of Team Plasma. Many ponies dislike us, but we don't know why." As he ate his roll, a small, cool breeze rolled in. That brought N's full cutie mark into view.

Brazen turns to Bronze and replies. "I guess I mine for my materials and do pretty crazy experiments with them. I like to forge the ore I have and make many inventions that I tinker with. But I am not very good yet, I am only an apprentice alchemist. And 20 bit is just enough for a pick! And you are looking for a certain crystal, for a flying suit? Once we find this crystal we NEED to work together on it. I love to figure this stuff out! We would need a magical repulsion system, 1.023 x 10 to the 4 grams of nitrogen monoxide and other things... More importantly, something to power it with and that would be the crystal you are looking for. How much do you know about this crystal? And where is it found? If we are going to find this crystal, you have to fill me in on the details!"

 

Brazen start prancing in place because he is just so excited to be doing this adventure!

Brazen stops prancing.

"I need time to prepare, so should we start tomorrow? I have a buddy of mine that I am staying with so I don't have to sleep in that expensive hotel. So don't worry about me."

"Well, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it would be a natural rainbow crystal. I read about them once in the Canterlot library, and it seems like one or two would do the trick. The book was pretty sparse on details, but it said that they came from a long-forgotten land of crystals. When the Crystal Empire reappeared, I immediately thought that this would be the place to find some crystals. By the way, you seem to really know your stuff. Where did you study?"

Bronze Statue paused for a few minutes, then said, "Brazen, while I'm not poor, I don't have enough money to stay in that hotel the whole time while I'm here. It's 40 bits a night! If it isn't too much trouble, do you think I could maybe stay with you and your friend? I could get my stuff from the hotel and even give you a demonstration of how my suit works so far." Bronze felt that he had found a kindred spirit in Brazen Gears.

Rhaïn notices that Star Song had been sitting there quietly for a while. "Is the food any good? I, for one, love this soup, even though I still don't know how that works..." The others are chatting to each other, I feel so left out... Better keep up my pace! Rhain trots over to where Bronze and Brazen are chatting. "You guys are talking about some sort of engineering? I took a job for a day at the phillydelphia foundries, once. It didn't seem the job for me, though, so I left. I'm not bad at actually making stuff, though, if you need a hoof."

Bronze turns to Rhaïn and says, "Well, my suit stalls about as often as not on its primary function, and it has a very irritating latency issue in its primary function. The secondaries are all fine, though. I could run and get it if you'd like to take a look." With that, Bronze Statue quickly ran off to the hotel, grabbed his suit, and came back.

(OOC: Nopony ever really notices me but I've been checking like ten times a day anyways. I just can't think of anything worth posting because I never quite got involved in a conversation or anything with anypony. I don't know I guess I could figure something out if you want me to.)

Wind Whistler took a deep breath, inhaling the smell of wheat, exotic grasses, and the earthy smell of the Crystal Empire. Whispers and rumors had lead him all this way, and he finally found himself in the land of his ancestors, the Crystal Ponies "Well, I'm here, now what?"

 

Of course, he already knew the answer. The wind whistled underneath him as he took off with a great flap of his wings. The Empire needed saving. The rumors pointed at King Sombra's return, the powerful unicorn his family had failed to stop. His wings took him towards the nearest town. He swooped low and landed in the middle of a group of ponies, adjusting the lance he carried at all times attached to his saddlebag. With his wings lifted high, he addressed the nearest ponies he could find, "Where is he? King Sombra! I must find him and challenge his throne! The great-grandson of Sky Shaker has returned to the Crystal Empire to regain his lost honor!"

Brazen looks in awe as he sees Bronze with his suit.

 

"Well I see you have it done already, I do wish to know how you put it together... I am a tinkerer you know!

 

Brazen seems to hold much interest and has lots of questions but the sun is setting and he has to get some sleep.

 

"My friend is just over that hill; he loves guests, come on you'll be just like family!" With that he escorts Bronze Statue to his

 

friends place and they get some sleep to renew their energy for the next day.

 

(My friend is just a placeholder for a place to sleep, he/she doesn't play a part in this story.)

Bronze follows behind Brazen towards his friend's house. "I've been working on this for ten years now, and it still doesn't work as well as I'd like. Oh, it works wonderfully to augment strength and all, but that's its secondary function. Its main purpose, flying, is buggy; it doesn't work a third of the time, and when it does work, it responds sluggishly, so it's like you're dragging yourself and the suit through the air. I've tried practically everything I could think of under the sun to fix it, and that's how I ended up here.

"As to how I put it together, I started with some rusty old Royal Guard armor pieces and winged it." Really, "winged it?" That was a horrible pun, Bronze thought. "But enough about the suit for now. How did you find yourself here?"

Angel Feather placed the box down into her room. She brushed a sweat soaked strand of her mane out of her face. She went back outside and continued carrying in the boxes.

When she was finished, we stood in her living room and surveyed the room. She smiled to herself. It was a wonderful place to move. She hadn't moved very far. She had only moved from one side of the Crystal Empire to the other. But it was all a new chapter for her.

Angel Feather opened one of the boxes which had Decorations written on the side and began to take out picture frames.

Brazen turns to Bronze, "I found myself here for a little adventure and the beauty and scarce resources. Back in Ponyville, I am working on a project that will turn solid Iron into Gold. I know that the number of protons that Au has is 79 with 118 neutrons and Fe has 26 protons and 30 neutrons. The amount of electons Au has is [Xe] 6s²6d⁹ and Fe has [Ar] 4s²4d⁶. If I can get Fe to gain 50 p+, 88 n, and get Fe's electrons to fill in to the [Xe] 6s²6d⁹ I will have created GOLD! The problem is that I need a LOT of energy, energy that is not possible by science alone, there is a lake rumored to be somewhere here. The water of that lake is said to contain magical energy that has the potential to be used to create the philosophers stone. The problem with that is the lake is blood red and may cause severe headaches and a bunch of other side-effects. The lake may even lead to death. The reason behind that is the lake contains so much magical energy that any living thing can feel that energy which is too much for the creature to withstand.

 

Enough of my rant, to some it up I am looking for red water to create the stone that will be used in a machine to turn iron into gold..."

Bronze stopped in his tracks in surprise. "You're looking for a lake that, as far as I can understand, is so powerful that nopony short of Celestia, Luna, and maybe a hoof-full of others can even survive being near?!?!? And I thought I was ambitious. Even if you do find it though, gold is a lot more plentiful than iron in most areas of Equestria. It is a very interesting concept, however, and I would love to help you find the lake and help you with the setup." With that, Bronze Statue continued following Brazen Gears.

"I could make any element using common elements! That is the sole purpose of me turning iron into gold. If iron turns to gold, then I know I can make any element!"

 

Brazen pauses for a moment.

 

"It is an ambitious task, I know, but I have a way to get around 'death'. I have a extremely long arm tool that can scoop the water from a huge distance and store it within the tool. It will scoop enough water for me to work with and not enough to harm me! Genius right?"

Angel Feather began to set the picture frames and snowglobes and other decor onto the mantel of the fireplace. After she had finished she stepped back to admire her work. She fixed the position of a couple of the objects before moving towards her box which read Books on the side.

She carried the box upstairs to her room.

Bronze says, "But at the same time, wouldn't the transmutation of one basic element into another heavier element require fusion, something that an inordinately large amount of energy (more even than the energy of Celestia's Sun) is required for iron? If this water can actually power this change, there is probably a very good reason it hasn't been used. I'm guessing the whole 'death' thing is a pretty big factor here."

She started to arrange the books onto her bookshelf. We went back downstairs and was about to open a book labelled Kitchen Utensils but then spotted another box which had Writing written on it.

She opened the box and pulled out the book with the sparkling silver cover. She flipped open a random page and saw crisp black paper. She closed the notebook and took her silver gel pen out of the box.

She carried them outside and started to look about for a park where she could continue writing her stories.

After Purplepower's (and Looptyhoops) food came and they had almost finished eating, she decided to head back to the hotel. She paid for the food and put her saddlebag back on. "C'mon, Looptyhoop, let's go." Looptyhoop made a noise that sounded something like a mixture between a groan and a weird whine. "Oh please, Looptyhoop, get up and let's go." She got up and started walking towards the door with Looptyhoop following. "Bye guys!" She said over her shoulder, as she was exiting the restaurant.

(OOC: I'll find a way to leave Looptyhoop out of the story after this if you guys want.)

She then spotted it. A tiny park. It was completely empty at that moment. It was very pretty though, with towering trees and beds of flowers. Angel walked over to bench that resembled a log. She sat on it sideways and placed her notebook down. Using her magic, she lifted up the pen. She turned to a blank page.

The silver gel pen began to swiftly write across the page in a mix of cursive and normal writing.
