Nordica 180 November 17, 2012 Share November 17, 2012 I suspect most people make some kind of pattern in their head when they think of these things. I asked this quite randomly at home one day, and realized that none in my family had the same patterns as me. My dad had nothing, so I suppose some doesn't imagine anything at all. Anyway, I found it fascinating to see how others thought different than I did, so I'm bringing this question here to see if more people would like to share their patterns. I'm leaving mine as a picture, as it would probably be easier to understand than trying to explain it in words: Forgot to add the letters, but they're just a straight line, from A to Å.
Ferret Girl 2,642 November 17, 2012 Share November 17, 2012 I have the circular month pattern as well, only January is on the very bottom. And, when I "view" each month, I see pictures of the seaon as like a nackground behind each name. The days of the month and days of the week change sometimes. Arrow 236 November 17, 2012 Share November 17, 2012 I don't understand anything. Also I have a hangover so that might be why, I can barely write stuff without autocorrect, lol What you're saying is how you see that in your mind or what?
ping111 124 November 17, 2012 Share November 17, 2012 I see the months as two columns, with six months each. From there, I can find out a month's polar opposite (like March to September), and what season it takes place in. I see the days as a thin band of paper, with the days written on it. This allows me to count the number of days from some time to another time, and to see the polar opposite of a day.
Shanks 10,816 November 17, 2012 Share November 17, 2012 When I picture certain months I tend to picture something else in my head, like what happens during that month. January for example is the month of my brothers birthday, my Dad's birthday as well as my birthday so I picture a giant birthday cake. For certain days sometimes certain shows pop into my head, MLP pops into my head for Saturdays as well as cartoon networks saturday morning lineup which for reason seems to be on hold for the most part. Throwaway19573639385 764 November 17, 2012 Share November 17, 2012 When it comes to months I am only able to count starting from March for some reason, I always have the right dates in my head but what month comes before the other is something I'll never be able to remember. I count my days from monday to sunday, pretty normal I guess. I keep the right dates in my head by using special days, you know, like New Year, Halloween or Easter, to name a more well-known examples. Aside from those I also know the dates of historic events that are important for me. Using those dates I can calculate which day and date it is today, tomorrow or in 13 days. It's the only way for me to remember the dates themselves, I can't seem to remember a date by thinking "Oh, yesterday was the 16th so today is the 17th", it just feel right in my head to count like that :/ . Betez 1,734 November 17, 2012 Share November 17, 2012 For months, I always picture them on a clock going counter clockwise. For numbers, I picture them on a timeline. For letters, I picture them on a chart with a new line every 7 letters or so.
