"Fine." Wind said. "Let's go then." Her voice was clipped. In any other situation she would be courteous, but this was different. Wind clopped through the hotel and found their room. "Come on. Let's get settled in, and then head to the relief center. Everyone okay with that?"

After not hearing anything else he takes a deep breath hearing a voice over the PA 'Arriving in Ponyville in 5 Minutes.  Make sure you are seated, and make sure all business is taken care of.'  There is a crackle as the PA fades away and all is silent again.  He looks back out the window and sighs softly to himself his body finally returning to it's calm state.  He closes his eyes and begins to calm his breathing.  I can do this.  I can do this. I can do this.  He repeats the mantra over and over in his head.

Faceless was wary of his sudden gain, but he put all suspicious thoughts out of his head when he saw Ponyville on the horizon. Flyer knew it was a mistake, but nevertheless, he picked up even more speed, eager to get to Ponyville first. It was then he realised he was tiring fast...

Lightning could tell that he was beginning to tire out, so she took the chance to speed past him, and quickly made it to Ponyville. When he got down, she said:" Nice try, but you might wanna try harder next time. What surprised her most was that all seemed well.

Electrobolt listened to the alicorn introduce himself as Shining Star, before seeing him look down. *Is he nervous...?* thought the lime-green pony, a little bit concerned. He would try to say something, yet he could not find the words. He didn't want to make Shining Star feel even more worried than he had been. So instead, he looked back to his window. After a bit of silence, the PA announced that they were five minutes away from Ponyville. *We're almost there,* he pondered, as the scenery outside his window started to look different.

 

Sighing, he was still thinking about how embarrassed Shining Star had looked when he was talking to the alicorn. Shaking his head, he looked back over to him. Although Shining appeared to be calm now, he was still thinking about apologizing for making him feel nervous. But now didn't appear to be the right time to say anything, as Shining seemed to be in concentration or something. So instead, Electrobolt made sure he was ready for his duties in Ponyville, before looking out the window once more.

 

 

OOC: Apologies, Shining... Either I didn't notice your earlier post, or I had seen it before but forgot all about it... Either way, yeah... :/

 

[Ice Storm 1,020]

It wasn't long until the train that Ice had boarded departed, and she was thankful that she was once again getting out the most accursed city in Equestria. Even with all the natural disasters that have been springing up, and the recent mess in Ponyville it was still a better place to live than here. She let out a sigh as she began to relax so that she could at least enjoy the train ride.

 

As it made it's way down the mountain side, Ice took a gander at the scenery, and much of it had alarmed her as to how much of Equestria had been hit this year. There was a large span of acreage that was nothing but ash, and off in the distance she saw nothing but mud. The once beautiful landscape was a barren land of ash awaiting for the seeds of life to be replanted in them. It was at this time that she over heard a small part of a conversation from a near by group of ponies that had boarded after she did. Mainly the word Fillydelphia caught her attention, and while she hated the city with a passion because of her parents, she didn't hear about it often outside of there.

 

"Did... something happen in Fillydelphia?" Ice asked curiously

 

"Haven't you heard?" one of the mares turned to her with a disapproving scoff. "Fillydelphia was hit by a tsunami almost a week ago, and nearly wiped off the map."

 

"Like seriously, how could you have not heard of it? It's been all over the newspapers since it happened," the other sneered to her.

 

The look on Ice's face was almost pure shock, before turning into anger and sadness. If... it was nearly destroyed.... then that most likely means they.... she hung her head in thought. She may have hated her parents for Abandoning her, but they were still her parents, and there was still a part of her deep inside that loved them and hoped that they would change. The fact that she wouldn't know now if they ever would, sent great pain in her heart.

 

"Next Stop, Ponyville. Fifteen minutes out," she heard the conductor stated and she rode out the ride in completely silence. Why had nopony else mentioned this to her? and why hadn't the news about the Tsunami reached the Recovery Area of Ponyville? actually, I can understand why they wouldn't tell anypony there... We had enough issues to deal with there, she thought to herself as the train pulled into the station on rail 2. "Now arriving at Ponyville Station, Please depart in an orderly manner and thanks for riding the Equestrian Express."

 

"Okay... so which hotel am I supposed to go to?" she said aloud putting on her security force badge and looking at the ERT papers she had received. "Ponyville Manor, got it," she said starting to make her way towards the exit. She then paused at the exit to try to see if she could find any of the other ponies that had left before she did and catch up with them. She caught sight of the train again though, and for a moment, she thought about getting back on. It seemed like Fillydelphia needed the most help at the moment, but in the fliers she didn't see a response team being sent there. That fact alone made her fear the worst. Maybe one hasn't been sent yet because there's not yet a way to get to Fillydelphia to help... she thought before sitting on a near by bench looking over to the market place to where what was left of her Frozen Delights store stood. All that was left was a hallow shell that had been charred to the darkest black anypony could think of. Well, we have to start somewhere. Might as well make sure those that are safe here stay safe, she thought to herself.

"Yup, I'm okay with that!" replied Star Rain. "So you're a medic? I'm a rescue worker!" she continued on, without hopping because she had noticed the weird looks she was getting. She kept looking around the hotel in curiosity, but now that stone of dread was finally settling in her stomach. She was starting to get scared and less cheerful.

The Train arrives at the Ponyville station and he looks out the window as the PA crackles and comes back to life. 'Now in Ponyville, please depart in a neat and orderly fashion.  Thanks for choosing Ponyville express and have a great day.' With that the PA crackles and dies back down.  He gets up and walks past Electrobolt gazing up at him for a moment before looking back down.  Once he exits the train he steps to the side and waits sighing softly. I need to do it.... He is part of my team... It needs to be now. He stands at the side of the train and waits for Electrobolt to walk out after him still holding his wings tightly to his side.  As soon as I meet him... the task can start.  And I can prove to my parents that I have what it takes.  I will prove to them that I can do it. I will stand in the way of any disaster, help everypony, and I will be the shining star in the night. He laughs softly at the pun he just made keeping himself amused.

The door to the hotel opened.

 

"Gah!!", came a voice from inside.

 

The pony had almost fell backwards, but grabbed onto the door before that happened.

 

"Gave me quite a shock there...", the pegasus muttered, now that its wings are completely visible. "The name's Lightning Dancer. What's yours?"

While the train was still moving, he kept his gaze directed outside of the window, as he viewed the scenery that was around Ponyville. He smiled softly, his mind recalling how peaceful this place had been in the past. Now, he was going to work hard to make sure things get back to normal. As he continued pondering about Ponyville, he saw the scenery slowing down, before coming to a complete stop as they arrived at the station. Just then, the PA came to life, saying that they arrived in Ponyville, and that they could leave now.

 

Sighing to himself, he slowly got up as he looked over to where Shining Star sat, only to see he wasn't there anymore. Shaking his head, he believed Shining already went ahead into Ponyville to get started. So making sure everything was right, he started to leave the train. Just then, however, he saw Shining, waiting patiently. *So he was waiting for me, instead?* he thought, his previous thought having been disproven. Choosing to approach Shining Star, he said, "Um, hello again... I apologize if I had made you feel uncomfortable earlier... That wasn't my intention..." His face had a slight hint of embarrassment on it as he was speaking to Shining, trying to apologize for making her feel nervous earlier.

He looks up at Electrobolt and takes a deep breath trying to keep his composure.  He shivers slightly when he is talked to and takes another deep breath, keeping himself and his body calm.  He shakes his head and looks down for a moment  "I..It's not your fault.... No need to apologize..."  He looks back up at the other pony and forces a nervous smile.  "I am just... not used to talking to other ponies...."  He looks back down again kicking his hoof gently against the ground trying to think of something to say.  After a moment he gathers himself and thinks of something looking back up at him.  "We need... to gather up with the others.... and work out some kind of plan... And to... figure out the damage of recent disasters..."

Ice had pushed the door open to the hotel as she entered the door, and didn't realize that there was another pony behind the door as she opened it until she watched him almost stumble. "Oh my," she watched as he caught himself on the door. She heard him say that his name was Lightning Dancer and she let out a sigh of relief as he appeared to be okay. "Oh, I am so sorry about that. My name is ICeStorm, part of the Security Force. I'm here to help where I can, though for how long I don't know. As soon as the way clears for someone to get to Fillydelphia after the Tsunami, I'll be heading there. My parents lived there," she told him.

Faceless puffed as he glided next to the pegasus. "Hey, after all this is over, I'll have a rematch." Flyer stuck out a hoof at the stranger.

 

"I'm Faceless Flyer, but call me Faceless... or Flyer. Are you situated in PonyVille too?" Faceless asked, noticing a train being pulled into the station.

While Electrobolt listened to Shining Star, he couldn't help but still show the slight bit of embarrassment on his face. Although he said it wasn't his fault, he still felt like he caused her to be this nervous when he was originally calm. Just then, he said that he wasn't used to talking to other ponies, which he never knew. *He must be pretty shy, and haven't really met any other ponies... Or perhaps there's another reason...? I don't know, really...* he pondered, before hearing Shining continue. Nodding, he agreed with what had been said.

 

"Yeah, that would be the best course of action," he responded with a calm smile. Hopefully he could help the alicorn ease up around him, and possibly the others. "As for the others... They might be heading for the hotel, so..." While he was saying this, he was looking around the area, before his head stopped, eyes seeing a familiar pony from earlier. "Hey... I think that's one of them over there." With that, he trotted over to where he believed he saw Faceless.

"Later, alright Mr. Faceless?", said Lightning Dancer, grinning at him.

 

Then she turned to the unicorn.

"Fillydelphia huh? That's cool. We've got a lot of recruits here anyway.", she said.

He hesitates for a moment nodding at what he has heard, then slowly makes his way following Electrobolt slowly.  He spots the pony that he is looking at and looks down just watching the back of Electrobolt's hooves.  He stumbles a bit on his own hooves but catches himself before he falls.  He blushes and looks around to see if anyone saw him and just continues trying not to draw much attention to himself.  "U....ummm... if I might...."  He speaks very softly unsure if he was even heard.  He shakes his head and just continues to walk, while keeping his wings tight against his side.

Wind dropped her bags in the room and turned around. "Do you want to go to the relief center now, Whirlwake? I'm ready." Wind gave gestured to the door. "I think the rest of you are supposed to start in the relief center too. Could I have all your ranks? I need to know who is who."

Upon hearing Wind's question, Star Rain answered,"I'm a rescue worker!" I can't wait! Once we start rescuing civilians, I'll have totally abandoned my old life! If I die, I'll die a hero and not an abused orphan! she thought with determination sparkling in her eyes.

Electrobolt's ears had slightly perked up when he heard something, as he stopped in his tracks for now. Turning around, he looked back to Shining Star, who was still being pretty nervous and awkward. Feeling pretty worried about him, he slowly moved back to Shining before stopping next to him. After getting next to the Alicorn, he took in a quick breath before saying, "Um... Shining...? Is something wrong? You can talk to me if you want." Looking over to Shining, his face showed one of comfort, as he wanted to help this pony feel comfortable around him, as opposed to nervous and worried.

 

 

 

 

 

 

[Shining Star 33]

 

He flinches slightly upon being talked to, only to realize it was Electrobolt.  He shakes his head a moment looking around but eventually bringing his attention back to him.  "I.....It's nothing.."  His body is a little more relaxed but the nervousness in his voice is still apparent. He notices now, the pegasus that Electrobolt was walking over to earlier.  He turns his attention back to him once again closing his eyes for a moment and taking a deep breath before opening them again.  "I.... It's a long story...  One I... I don't wish to share at this time..."  He blinks for a moment and loses himself in thought.  Wait what?  At this time?  What is wrong with me? Maybe he didn't catch on and ask to hear my story later.  Come on Shining Star, you can do this.  Just think before you speak. He shakes his head and takes another deep breath and forcing a small smile.

"Good to see you again, Electrobolt." Faceless looked over to see Shining behind him. "Oh hey! How's it go- WOW ARE YOU AN ALICORN!?!" Faceless blurted out. He smiled, excitedly but then blushed at his childishness.

 

"Sorry... I get excitedly easily..." Faceless said, scratching the back of his neck in awkwardness and humiliation...

Although Shining Star said it was nothing, Electrobolt thought otherwise, that something was bothering the alicorn. However, he didn't want to push any further on the subject, so he simply nodded. When he said that it was a long story, and that Shining didn't want to share it at the time, he then noticed a change of expression on the alicorn's face. He was confused about this, but then he saw the expression change into a smile. This pony seemed to be troubled about something, yet didn't want him to know about it.

 

Shaking his head, Electrobolt spoke up, "It's alright, Shining. I won't force you to tell me if you don't feel ready to say just yet. I'd rather you feel completely confident with yourself and make sure you are ready if you ever want to. Until then, you don't have to tell me. Now then, let's---" Just then, he got cut off as Faceless began to approach them and greet him before getting all excited about Shining Star. Blinking, he just looked at the pegasus in confusion, as he apologized, saying he gets rather excitable. Forcing out a cough, Electrobolt finally spoke up, "Um, yes... Faceless, this is Shining Star. He's part of our team. Shining, this is Faceless Flyer. Uh, he prefers to be called either Faceless or Flyer, though..."

[Shining Star 33]

He sees the other pegasus and looks down.  He flinches as the pegasus blurts out causing him to step a few feet backwards and stopping a little ways away from them.  He quickly presses his wings against his side while his breathing begins to become quick and short.  He closes his eyes and begins to concentrate his horn glowing dimly for a few minutes.  His horn suddenly stops glowing and he opens his eyes his breathing finally having returned to normal. 

 

 

 He looks up slowly at the other Faceless and speaks with a slight stutter.  "H....hi...."  He looks back down digging his hoof at the ground.  He hesitates for a moment longer before looking back up at Faceless.  "I.... I am a first....responder..."  Upon speaking in his stuttered tone he quickly looks back down.

Faceless tried to soften his features, smiling warmly. "Cool. I'm a Rescue Worker. It's good to meet you Shining. Again, sorry." Great! You're meant to be saving ponies, not giving them heart attacks!

...

 

Flyer addressed the whole group. "So, is this all of us? Do we have to sign in somewhere?"

'Oh noes, they got here already??', Bluenote thought. Oh well. Maybe they need a little encouragement. Then they'll leave. She walked as silently as she could past the group of ponies at the hotel and walked into it.

"I dunno. Shining never gave any information about that. Or did he and I was only listening for the names?", Lightning asked.

Steel rubbed his chin with one forehoof, considering the possibilities. Trains were always a decent option, but if a disaster struck while they were onboard... the results would not be pretty. Walking would slow them down considerably. Flying, while by far the fastest manual option, would likely be too great of a burden, the two pegasi would have to bare his weight if they chose to do so. Eventually, though reluctantly, he settled on a course of action. "I propose that we use magic. Mine specifically. While I normally do not have enough power to transport myself over a few meters, Canterlot is the perfect place for these kind of things." He drew in the dirt with one hoof, drawing a number of intersecting lines, and drawing a circle around where the most lines met at one place. "Canterlot is centered nearly on top of one of the most powerful magic power line intersections that criss-cross the world. With a little preparation I could get us there in seconds, with only about an hour being devoted to the setup."

Solar Flicker scratched an itch behind her ears. She really didn't get magic. It had something to do with energy, but that was about all she knew. "So, basically you're going to take us there, is that what you're saying? I only speak English, sorry." She streached her wings lazily. She had been hoping to fly because she needed the exercise, but no matter. Speed was essential after all.
