''I hate the forest.'' Splinter grumbled while he walked in the forest with the others. ''I mean, I know I'm a hunter and all.. But I just get freaked out in the forest.. Especially at night. Am I the only one who gets freaked out when they step on a twi- EEE!'' Splinter said while stepping on a twig and snapping it. ''Oh.. Heh.'' Splinter said while blushing. ''And before anyone says anything, I'm not a wimp.'' Splinter said.

"Yeah, I've know of dragons. I studied their cousins, the shrikes, in Elsemare, and had quite the one-sided discussion with Secret Fire yesterday about them. There are many different types of dragons. You can tell which is which by the color of their scales. Some breathe fire, some breathe frost. The frost ones are tougher. Their scaly hide is largely invunerable to what you throw at it, and they're sentient. But if you got close enough to any dragon to hold civilised conversation, you'd be charred to a crisp, or else eaten." Descant laughed. "Why? Afraid of dragons? They've been extinct since the First Era!"

"well you might as well know this now. I gained news today from a guard in riften, saying that a winged beast had attacked, and burnt down most of the city. from what most descriptions say, it looked like a dragon." He mumble to himself "i swear if that thing is following me..."

(Ooc: If I am not online please take control of Bio for me when needed, just dont get her killed, and lets just say i came along)
Bio had been pretty quiet the whole time. She didn't like working in groups bigger then three.

<Why did I decide to do this anyway> she thought to herself.

Her familiar, Jasmine was walking a little further ahead of them, keeping an eye out for wolves.

She had overheard their little conversation about dragons, puzzling her.
"You two do realize what you are saying is impossible right? Dragons have been extinct since the first era"

Descant stumbled and very nearly fell, so bad was the shock from his pronouncement. "You can't be serious? Dragons can't be back. They just can't. They've been extinct for Eras. Ohhhh, I wish I had my mythology books. There's got to be some explanation, if you aren't just messing with me. Either way, you've got me curious to see if it would be possible."

"they wouldnt send a guard halfway across skyrim to send me a false alarm. and what else has the ability to breath fire? to be able to kill ponies with a swing of its tail?" just then, a roar could be heard in the distance. it was faint, very faint. but hearable all the same.

"and other creture could make such a noise?"

"Uhh guys yo u want me in the air or what? Cause if there's dragons I could warn you about them" He  looked up expecting a huge dragon to snatch them up. He unsheathed his sword and started hovering over the group. He flew up a little higher to keep look out but not high enough to the point where he was in what he thought was comfortable flying space for a dragon.

Descant was suddenly very glad so many ponies had accompanied him on his journey. "Well... True, I have never heard a roar like that. Whatever made the noise must be enormous, if not truly a dragon." He still obviously wanted to not believe what Spark was saying. "So... Riften really is destroyed?" Descant had a look of pure horror on his face. "I need to contact the college. They've got to know about this."

''Dragons?! Lemme at em'! I may be scared of the forest, but I'm not scared of a fire breathing, giant, dangerous, killi- Okay.. Maybe I'm a tad bit scared now.'' Splinter said while frowning. ''Although dragons don't exist anymore, right? That roar could have just been a rabbit.. Oh who am I kidding? Of course it wasn't a rabbit!'' Splinter said to himself.

Topaz did't talk much during the journey. He was surrounded by strangers, and didn't care to get to know them. He just needed to get the money, and get out alive. He supposed these ponies were fine enough, he didn't dislike any of them, he just didn't care either way. He heard a roar from the distance, and looked in it's direction, but saw nothing. This was quite unnerving, as nothing could possibly roar that loud at such a far distance.

Descant climbed halfway up a mountain, to where he could see most of the surrounding countryside. Concentrating furiously, he sent a message far to the east where he hoped the College would hear, warning of dragons. (OOC: I'm assuming there's some overlap, and more types of magic than you can actually use in-game.) Climbing back down to where the rest of his companions traveled, Descant acted as though nothing unusual had happened.

Rain had been flying for some time now and his wings grew tired so he flew down to the ground. Once he touched down he reached into his saddle bag and pulled out a stamina potion so he could get back into the air as soon as possible. In no time his wings felt better than ever before and he was up once again.

Topaz bounced a ball of flame up and down on his hoof, preparing to launch it at whatever this...thing...was. He drew his blade, and prepared for a fight. He hoped it wasn't what he thought it could be, but had a feeling it just had to be. "Could the dragons be back?" he thought.

Rounding a bend in the trail, Descant exclaimed, "Look, it's Dragon Bridge!" he was right, the small Hoofingar town was in sight, just across the bridge for which it was named. (I think it would be pretty ironic if the first dragon attack outside of Riften was in Dragon Bridge, would it not?)

(OOC: well no. not now that is)

Bright Spark looked around. there was a bar, good. a couple of houses and a forge, but there was also that whats-its-face outpost. He never knew the name of them, he just knew they had both been looking for the brotherhood, and that they were the emporers guards.

" Penitus Oculatus, Royal protectors of the emperor" Bio muttered to herself. "They don't look so tough"  pulling her hood up over her head, her ears springing out if the two holes at the top.

There was a hiss as she dispersed her familiar and swapped her spells around, also shifting the weight of the sword and shield on her back.

Topaz saw the soldiers ahead, and extinguished his flame. He sheathed his blade, not wanting to seem threatening.

"What the buck could the Penitus Oculatus be doing here!"

He tried his best to not even pay them any attention, to seem unimportant to them.

Hearing Topaz's question, Bio moved a little closer to him.
"Apparently the emperor himself, is coming to skyrim. and they are here to make sure everything is safe for his arrival"
She noticed, out of the corner of her eye, one of the guards giving her a suspicious look.

"Can we hurry up, I am not exactly well liked around these parts" she whispered

Bright Spark couldnt help but hear that the emporor was visiting skyrim "the emporer? in skyim?" he couldnt help but think. the emporor probably had enemies. He didnt know who exactly, but he did hear a man talk about getting rid of him, and calling the dark brotherhood could have been an option. *i wonder what you can sell his cloak for?* he thought aloud.

"The emperor would be a fool to come to Skyrim now." Lightning said as he landed. He trotted for a few secinds then slowed down and sheathed his sword not wanting any unwanted attention. "Lets try and not get in a fight with the Oculatus. Especially if one of us is *not liked very well here*" Lightning said eying Bio.

Descant looked at Bio with concern. "I'm not going to ask what you did to offend the Oculatus. But I can hide you if you need me to. Remember?" Descant winked, reminding her of the illusion he had pranked her with in the Bannered Mare. "Or I could make you look like somepony else while we're in Dragon Bridge."

Bio pinned her ears back against her head "It's not so much the Oculatus that don't like me, more the Hoofringer guard."
She put on a mischievous grin.
"I may or may not be the cause of some fights and brawls in Solitude, and I might a given a couple of the guards broken noses in the chaos"
letting the grin fall, She replaced it with innocent look "Not my fault, somepony keep stealing my sweet-roll"

Rain looked at Bio for a few seconds then laughed. "Hahahahahahaha! Well at least you haven't "taken an arrow to tha knee" like soooo many guard's men in Skyrim! Hahahahahaha. You know I "accidentally" put an arrow in a guard's knee once, good coin for that one too."

Descant stared in utter disbelief at the mischievous mare. After several moments, he joined Rain in laughter. "That's brilliant! I almost believed you were that innocent for a moment there!" Still chuckling, Descant lead them, in an attempt to remain inconspicuous, through town a few at a time. On the other side of Dragon Bridge, Descant pointed out a clear in the trees to the left of the path. "That's where we leave the main road. The cave should be on the other side of these mountains. Fortunately, we get to cross them short-ways."

Bright spark looked at the mountains. it seemed large, but he could just see the top. He looked up, and saw some sort of acient ruin, and a large stone wall that semmed uneffected considering the rest was almost destroyed. He could hear the roaring now, coming from the direction he was looking. "i'd prefer if we got a move on then."
