More Pony Practice

I think I'm really beginning to embrace my own style within my pony drawings. No refs used at all, so please point out any glaring errors if you see any, I appreciate constructive criticism.

 

Comments are appreciated, and I am more than open to requests to help me get my practice up.

Very unique style, I would've chosen a different coloring material for the drawings but that's just a matter of personal preference.

The colouring is rough (in a good way) as it makes your work very unique. I like drawings like that the best

The poses are also very nice, I love that Applejack photo.

Only complaint: the background is too similar in colour for Pinkie. It makes her tail look detached as well as making one leg appear very skinny.

So you do take requests? I would love to make one. Keep up the good work :3

Maybe just a lighter shade, or go for a different one altogether. The blues in her dress are almost the exact same as the background that she's on, so it looks a little awkward.

I'll PM you with my request, then, that would make it easier.

I'll bear that in mind next time! The background does have some pale aqua hues in it which the dress doesn't, but unfortunately the scanner zaps te colour out of things quicker than Discord's mind games.

i hate textured paper and coloured pencils. they always came out looking like crap for me.  glad that isnt the case for you  its actually kinda eerie how you did Aj's hair though.  it looks like my early stuff on deviantart. [http://littlegenius13.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=48] D'aww, i miss my coloured pencils now.  

 

anyways, you have good dynamic poses, your style is unique--i love that they are squishy and fluid, and id stick with traditional media.  you might try mixing charcoals and copics in with them, or coloured papers?  the words of my painting instructor still haunt me, and i pass them to you, "youre darks should be darker and your lights lighter."

Thank you very much! I have been drawing since I can remember (which is almost 20 years -eep, im getting old) and my usual style is very far removed from this. So drawing ponies is very unusual for me and I found it tricky at first. I've been using my favourite selection of coloured pencils for about five years, and due to having two jobs I don't draw as much as I used to so I'm a little rusty.

I appreciate your comments, funnily enough in drawing a picture of your SweetJeans this afternoon hours before I saw this comment, I remembered how I used to highlight and shadow everything a little heavier, and tried to do it on the picture I did for you. Eerie, eh?
