Everfree: Forgotten Secrets

Name: Rumo

 

Age: 17

 

Gender: Male

 

Race (Pony, Zebra, Griffin, etc.): Pony

 

Species (If you are a pony): Unicorn

 

Description: White coat, light pink Mane and green eyes. Rumo is tall and slim. His cutie mark is a piece of wood with a knife carved in it. He has a very good sense of smell and is capable of seeing smells.

 

Personality: Even though Rumo is not naturally shy, after being held captive in a cave for many years, and then traveling alone across the country, it has become rather hard for him to adapt to being around other ponies. He's favorite thing in the world is fighting, something in wich he is particulary good at. He has really good reflexes. After his time captive, in wich he was forced to not move, Rumo prefers being awake, hungry and alert, rather than sleeping of being calm. He only eats when he needs to. He came into the everfree forest following a scent wich he sees as a silver thread, and for some reason causes a whole lot of attraction on him.

 

Skill: Fighting and woodcarving. While Rumo is very good at fighting, his real talent is in making things out of wood, but he doesn't really realize how good he is and takes it as some sort of natural skill.

All aboard the Canterlot Express! Next stop: Ponyville

They have all gathered for a reason, and that is to go on an adventure of a life time. For centuries, only a small portion of the Everfree Forest is explored. What lies beyond the drawn map is unfamiliar territory but today, ten adventurers sought to break the boundary. However, besides the dangerous creatures and environmental hazards, the Everfree Forest harbors many dark secrets, secrets that originated as legends which slowly became myth. Whether they may be true or not, that did not stop the adventurers from venturing into forbidden territory. One place of myth in particular has interested some in the group and they made a point to seek it out. The place: Sunny Town (Stage 1)

The Beginning

Ten adventurers from different parts of Equestria got off the train at Ponyville Station. It was a quaint little town inhabited mostly by Earth ponies. Society rules and guidelines require that the adventurers prepare themselves first before heading for the Everfree. You are all given one day to prepare and it is important that you get a map first along with a compass if you have forgotten to bring any. Feel free to explore the town and ask the locals about the Everfree Forest, if they're willing to tell you more about it that is.

-I'll make the first move-

The sky was cloudy that day and Velvet appreciated the cool wheather. This was not the first time she went on an adventure hosted by the Trottingham Adventurers Society but their decision to make the Everfree this year's hotspot was unexpected and took many members by surprise. It took Velvet by surprise too but she liked nothing more than an extreme adventure. With a med kit, a can of oil, a flashlight, some tinder and matches, and a flare gun in her saddlebag, Velvet felt ready to take on the forest, which was located towards the eastern end of Ponyville but first things first. She had to get a map and compass as she had left hers back at Cloudsdale. It wasn't far but she was too lazy to fly all the way home just to get them. Luckily, she knew a friend who had a stock of maps and compasses. Without giving a second glance to the rest of her comrades, who were busy minding their own businesses, she headed for the library of Ponyville.

With a Alchemy Set, Medical Kit, Multi-tool, & Oil. Lucky star flies around Ponyville looking around to see the sight & explore around a bit. She notices all the many Stallions & mares wandering about looking to make a quick appearence.

Carrying a survival knife, some matches, oil and a flash light in his saddlebags Rumo wandered into Ponyville. He had been told he needed to get a compass and a map. He had a compass, it was a gift from an old friend of his who traveled with him for a while, although he never used it, and kept it only to remember his friend. Why would he need it, or a map, when he could always smell the silver thread? No matter where he was he could smell it, and all he wanted to do was to follow it to the source, even though he had no idea what was waiting him there, he knew he was meant to follow it, and right now it led him into the Everfree forest.

 

He still needed to get a map anyways. Unaware of to get one, he just entered the first shop he saw and asked "Uh, do you know where can I get a map?".

Illuminate gathered a medical kit, canned food, and a canteen.

 

"I should be fine with the darkness, because I have my fire magic.."

 

She already had a compass and a map. She was never unprepared.

Afraid to talk to anypony, she simply just stood next to a building and waited

for the day to go by. She played with her fire magic a bit, and kept herself

entertained. She was nervous for the adventure in Everfree, but she

was really hoping to come out of her shell and make friends.

Rose slowly stepped off of the train to face the town of Ponyville. Watching the other Earth ponies walk around the town calmed her nerves, just as much to make her step off of the train comfortable. Watching the others passengers on the train amused her, so she stepped a few feet away and watched the train.

Haste gathered her supplies: a survival knife, multitool, a canteen, Matches and Tinder,

"Seems about it, this is gonna be so awesome..."

Rose raised her eyebrow as she saw a pony talk to herself outside the train. Her curiousity overtaking her, Rose walked over to Haste.

 

"Excuse me, but... why are you talking to yourself?"

"Huh? sorry, I was just..uhh thinking out loud.. Name's Haste by the way"

From the moment the train docked at the Ponyville station, Post Haste was more than willing to hop off the train and explore the little town. "Can you believe it!? This is going to be so great! I can't wait to get out there!" his hooves had clopped with excitement on the floor and it was more than possible he annoyed more than one pony. Post didn't care, he just wanted to get off that train and run wild. In his brown saddle bag he carried five very important items:

 

1. A medical kit

2. A survival Knife

3. A flare gun

4. Matches and tinder

5. A flashlight

 

With these items packed neatly and carefully away, he felt almost invincible. The only things left on his list were a map and compass (as suggested by the tour guide) and possible a little something extra he might be able to sneak into his pack for the trip... like some food. He knew there was a very good bakery in Ponyville and what better than some tasty cupcakes to nibble on while journeying into uncharted territory? NOTHING, that's what!

Post Haste trotted away the moment he was able to, heading towards Sugar Cube Corner. Anypony who is anypony should be there!

The train ride was only one thing to Red: uncomfortable. Sitting on a train bench was not easy for the pony with three legs. His peg stuck out, unable to bend naturally like a normal pony leg so whomever had the displeasure of sitting by him would likely be uncomfortable as well. He would have taken it off but it would have been too annoying and... no. He just didn't want to deal with all that. Not today. It was humiliating enough that he allowed his friend to convince him to go on this stupid adventure. Oh well, he couldn't back out now...

 

The contents of Red's pack were as followed: Medical kit, alchemy set, canteen, multitool and oil.

 

When the train stopped, he limped over to the exit and stepped his first steps on Ponyville soil. It was a quaint little place, not so bad. The most intimidating thing was seeing the rest of the group split up. Red found himself walking with his awkward gait toward what he hopped was a library; perhaps he could get information from some kind of civic centre.

Rose continued her stare on the pony.

"That's... wonderful. My name is Rose, if you were wondering."

Lucky Star flew around the town very quickly to view the sights completely un-aware of that she needed to regroup.

"nice too meet ya Rose" Haste smiled, "you're gonna go to the Everfree too?"

Rose forced a small smile onto her face and said,

 

"I wouldn't of been on the train if I wasn't."

Haste shrugged her shoulders "Well I just didn't imagined somepony like you going" her voice started to slowly fade at the end

Ampyrion studied the list of suggested items carefully, snorting with derision when he got to the word canteen. As if, he thought. I'll find the fresh water wherever it is. His horn glowed gently, and he became acutely aware of a small stream just a few paces away from him, but not being thristy at the moment, he ignored the sense. I'll find it when I need it. And I hope the others don't waste their bagspace bringing one either.

What he DID have was helpful to the team, or so he hoped. In front of him lay a few hurridly-purchased items, including a multitool, flashlight, medical kit, and an alchemy set, just in case. He was hoping to use his water sense as his own compass, as long as he could focus on a particular one. He locked on to the stream he had just passed. Now all I need is a map, he thought. Let's see... Noticing Rumo was seeking the same item, he entered the shop and began looking for a map was well.

good to get some information on this place before I go through it..

 

Illuminate walked over to the library, and entered. It was peaceful. No noise at all.

 

..There was another pony browsing the library also. It was a unicorn with a medium-brown coat.

 

Oh my.. Well.. I guess I could try talking to him..

 

Illuminate walked over to the unicorn. "Uhm.. Hi.. My name is Illuminate.."

 

Oh no I hope I didn't sound too stupid!

It had been a very awkward moment stepping into the library. He had used his magic to enter the door but the height of the lip to actually enter was larger than he had anticipated so he tripped the moment his pegged leg stepped over it. The little stumble was a bit embarrassing, of course, and if anypony had seen it they would also have seen him cuss at his leg as though it were his companion and not an inanimate object. But with that moment aside, he took a few steps away from the door and looked around at all the books. A strong sense of wanting to just settle himself down and read was compelling but not the mission. In fact, he wasn't there for books, he was there for answers. If this place didn't have what he was looking for then certainly town hall just might.

 

Red took in a deep breath, savouring the thick smell of dust and wood just as he heard the sound of hooves approaching and the voice of a pony pull him from his trances. He turned to match a face with the voice and found himself looking at a dark coated pony with a shocking pink mane and tail. Shocking, yes, but beautiful. It was stark against her coat and he found himself smiling. "Ah, bonjour." he nodded in her direction before turning his attention back to the books, scanning the titles carefully.

Rose kept her hard gaze on Haste.

 

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

Finally acquiring a map from the storekeeper, he rushed out of the crowded store, breathing a sigh of relief as the cool refreshing air swirled around him. He tried to locate where the other ponies might have gone. Surely they wouldn't spend the night here at this place? And what if he overslept, he'd miss the trip! He decided that his best bet was to stick with the group members he could find, albeit from a distance to satisfy his fear of crowding. Hopefully the noise they made when they woke up the next morning would wake him up too.

He looked around, and spotted Haste and Rose bickering. Ehh, two people is enough for now, I'll find the rest as the moon starts to claim the sky. He settled down to watch from a distance.
