Decided to try drawing my OC again(INSERT CLEVER APPEALING TITLE HERE)

*Ahem* Now for the serious face...

So yeah, i decided to take some of my free time today to take another go at drawing my OC, to be honest I'm not really sure what to think about it, so i guess thats up for you to decide(Well considering my low self esteem, and the fact I like making jokes about how bad my own art is. I actually proably think of it as terrible, but then again I'm somewhat perfectionist to...)

 

Anyways....

 

So yeah I drew my OC, I actually have been doing some slight modifications of his color scheme and I have changed his tail style a bit.(Hes still a bit of a work in progress OC. Heck I haven't even made a page for him or named him so yeah..)

 

 

Anyways so here it is THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR(Or despising take your pick.) THE UNVEILING OF MY Art Drawing Masterpiece Um... THING!

 

And as always I used the same reference basically that I've always used. but here it is for good measures.

 

Anyways, as usual I am fully open to all critique and the such! And I drew this using a mouse and GIMP. Took something like a little over an hour.

Tell me what you think!

 

Also if your sitting there never having seen any of my art before and your wondering WHO IS THIS CRAZY MAN WHO CLAIMS HIS ART TO BRING SUCH AN EYESORE OPEN THEE?

Hehe, I have always been one for persuasive words .

Its fine, I'm actually happy to see you in somewhere besides forum games since its been a while.

 

Besides you saying you love it just inflates my self confidence(And considering how low that is) I can totally live with that .

I like it, the colors look really nice and I really like its mane

My critique however, would have to be that the chest is a bit too far outward and he looks a bit squashed compared to your reference picture

 

Other than that, he's looking pretty good

I agree, the curve I put for his chest is alot bigger then it really should've been.

 

And thank you! I spent quite a bit of time on the mane .

I freaking LOVE your OC!!!! You know, I am very tempted to vector it, and I just might vector it as a gift to you sometime later! Great job, man!!

 

-If you want to get better at drawing ponies, just start out by tracing them on the screen and your hand just starts to sink into the proportions. You'll get the hang of it, you just need practice!

And I'll proably do a bit more tracing on some things to try and get the proportions a bit better. I assume this would still work out despite using a mouse right?(I assume it doesn't make a difference, but I just figured I'd ask .)

I like it, though as others say the chest is too far out.  I must also comment on the body between the legs is too long, or maybe it's just not curved enough, anyways looks good.

Yeah I've been working on reducing all the curves in the chest. And I think the legs are probably not curved enough, I dunno for sure, but I think thats the case.
