Bowling

So what is the "proper" way to bowl in the MLP:FIM universe? Do you buck it? Nudge it with your head?

 

There are three holes in the balls. What are they for?   I am not sincerely concerned, as this like other aspects of the show lack logic, or at least the concrete applications in a pony world. It would be interesting to get a cover story though for those holes.

why would there be holes? obviously the bowlers just did what Pinkie Pie did with her hoof, and then they use the newly made fingers for the holes and presto

Since we don't really see the "proper" way to bowl, I guess we'd simply have to assume.  In all honesty, I think nudging it with a head makes more sense.  Bucking it would be too dangerous.   

 

But who needs proper bowling technique when you have swag?

Well I guess they wouldn't be bowling balls if they didn't resemble our world bowling balls . The finger holes are a mystery as nopony has fingers but who cares...... every bowels the same.....Using there heads.

I think it would make the most sense to headbut it, or maybe buck it, but only very slighly.

 

The reason why the holes are there is to resemble the bowling balls of the real world. I don't think they actually serve any real purpose though.

I think headbutting is a good way to bowl.  The holes are just there so the audience knows they are bowling balls.  I think Applebloom may have it down with her way of shoving the ball between her teeth and hoping to god she doesn't fall on her face with it in her mouth.

I certainly wouldn't think you'd have to use your teeth. Way too dangerous. Using your head would seem to hinder your accuracy. I'm going with a gentle buck. The holes are probably just to identify them as bowling balls.

You just have to cover your hoof with a thick coat of petroleum oil, and jam it into one of the tiny holes using as much strength as you can muster. You then need to release with equal strength. There is a 50% chance the ball will break, but if it does, no biggie, that's why they're made out cheap materials.
