My First Plush! (of Derpy =D)

Hello everypony!

Today, with a simple but hard to sew pattern, some felt, and some determination and desire to make myself something to stare at while doing pony related activities, I made this beast with the help of a little lighting. Behold, the 6" inch tall and 6.5" long Derpy Hooves!

1. My pattern assembled on the table of... making stuff.

2. All the pieces cut out and placed together with safety pins.

3. Head sewed together (it did make a good hat for Lyra  :) I also added the eyes in sharpie)

^ Legs... wat the heck.

^ She falls over on slippery surfaces like Bambi does on the ice  ;)

And she's done!

Not my best... she is a complete fail, lol. But I still love her all the same!

Happy Holidays!

I wish ya'll a Derpylicious Christmas! (and I hope ya had a Happy Hanukkah too, for the ponies who celebrate it)

Oh yeah, that there was a LOT of pictures XD

Oh yeah, before you go ranting on the hooves, I had my mom do those 'cause I was busy and she wanted to, lol. I didn't say anything as I didn't want to hurt her feelings.

You can be proud in the fact that you have done better than I would have ever done. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get past the second step to making this plush.

The mind of the host will desperately try to create memories where none exist. Simple right?

I actually made a Derpy plush a while ago, it was also my first, and I also hand sewed it. I have some tips and hints, from experience.

1. Always make the pattern a bit larger than how you get it, but only for stuffed animals. It gives you a larger seam allowance, good for hand sewing.

2. Sew all the seams assuming it will be inside out when it's finished. When you get to the point when you are about to close it up, turn it all inside out, it'll look SO much better.

3. Stuff it with fiber-fill! The finished product will look nicer, and stand up better.

4. I know it's hard, but try to sew on the eyes and cutie mark, it'll look nicer. Trust me, I tried it.

5. Sew your stitches small, tight, and close together- that reduces holes.

Hopefully this all helps!

Finland is my favorite. All the other Hetalia characters can go now.

Thanks! I really wanted to make it look nice, but I decided this would be a prototype. You know, to try out this pattern. I'm going to be using better materials next time as well as turning it inside out :) I really didn't have the patience to sew in the eyes and cutie mark, lol. I'm trying to make many modifications to my pattern ATM, and I will definitely put this in! Thank you!

So aaawwweessoomme  . I couldnt make as good as you did. Now she only needs a mailbag and a lot of muffins, a lot of them.Awesome work you have done.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I don't have any brown material  <_<

I did get a new sewing basket and sewing machine for Christmas though, as well as lots of ponies

I probably will do, cause what derpy is complete without a muffin & mailbag?
