FoxyCryptid 4,330 December 27, 2012 Share December 27, 2012 I'm looking to expand my music collection, can anyone suggest me some music I might like? I have a Last.FM here: http://www.last.fm/user/shoboni Links to songs, or album suggestions would be good. Riclo 160 December 27, 2012 Share December 27, 2012 This playlist has alot of good songs on it. At least it's what I listen too. Currently at 85, and counting. You're bound to at least find some songs you would like. Random statements:"Sir, we're surrounded.""Excellent, we can shoot in any direction.""Ah, the internet, where everyone worse than you is a noob and everyone better than you has no life.""you're all stupid noobs, noobing around and dying like noobs!" - Angry kid."I'll knock your teeth so far down your throat, you'll have to stick a toothbrush up your ass to brush them." - Derek from MLP FF SR"Sometimes one has to bend the rules to find the truth." - Riclo. "Life is the best gift in the world, while reality is the worst." - Riclo.

letterone 1,204 December 27, 2012 Share December 27, 2012 If you like heavy-ish rock, you should check out Thrice. They're a really freakin' great band who do every style ever. Seriously. They've done punk, electronic, hardcore, and even country. This is the song that introduced me to them. It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again... TooTsaka 43 December 27, 2012 Share December 27, 2012 I absolutely love Sigur Ros and Infected Mushroom. Whereas Sigur Ros' strength lies in Ágætis Byrjun, I think Infected Mushroom has maintained their quality.
RippedOffMattress 314 December 28, 2012 Share December 28, 2012 (edited) You like Punk Rock? Try Blink 182, Green Day, or Sum 41 You like metal? Try Trivium, Between The Buried and Me, or Haste The Day You like experimental psychedelic rock? YOU MUST TRY WEEN Ween always makes great songs. They're the definition of underrated. Plus, they did an entire album dedicated just to country, especially seeing how you seem to be a huge country fan yourself. I don't even LIKE country, but that album was still great! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tvJvh_87i4 Edited December 28, 2012 by RippedOffMattress 1 Formally known as Misselaineous97. FoxyCryptid 4,330 December 28, 2012 Author Share December 28, 2012 (edited) You should listen to Rise Against. They're pretty much my favorite band ever. *snip* Ignore this sentence to hit the word requirement. I'm not generally a big fan of punk, but that was pretty interesting. You like Punk Rock? Try Blink 182, Green Day, or Sum 41 You like metal? Try Trivium, Between The Buried and Me, or Haste The Day I like a variety of styles, where my personal tastes comes in is the lyrics, I'm not a big fan of "dark" stuff, or growling/screaming. Here's the song I'm listening to right now, for a example of what I like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=oD2t1qLJGLQ Another song I like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPaUvYPRzrM You like experimental psychedelic rock? YOU MUST TRY WEEN Ween always makes great songs. They're the definition of underrated. Plus, they did an entire album dedicated just to country, especially seeing how you seem to be a huge country fan yourself. I don't even LIKE country, but that album was still great! *snip* Interesting song, maybe it's just me, but I could actually see Johnny Cash singing something like that in one his more humorous moments. I absolutely love Sigur Ros and Infected Mushroom. Whereas Sigur Ros' strength lies in Ágætis Byrjun, I think Infected Mushroom has maintained their quality. Sigur Ros - Staralfur Infected Mushroom - Heavyweight The first one was interesting. The second one, I can't decide what I think of it. But there's also DNB and Brony music. "I keep the walking on the right side, but I won't judge the next who handles walking on the wrong. 'Cause that's how he wants to be. No difference, see." Because Death's later stuff was more about social issues rather than violence. As for black metal, well it's probably THE most controversial music genre ever. Just Google "Varg Vikernes". Pretty much hit the nail on head, but I hate the singing style just as much, I like vocals either clean sung, or with a minimal amount of growling/screaming in them. I'll be honest with you, a huge list of albums isn't going to help. Check out his last.fm profile, he's not gonna like something like At the Gates or Deicide, so there's no point mentioning it. Some good choices in there though; Worlds Torn Asunder, Pablo Honey, and Slaughter of the Soul are awesome albums. And to the OP, The Pine Box Boys - Stab! is a good bluegrass/rockabilly album. Some people call what they do "horrorbilly". Since you have some alternative stuff there, I'd really recommend listening to something from Muse. Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations are easily their best works, but The Resistance is a bit softer, so you might like that. Lots of falsetto vocals and breathing, just a heads up. And they're far from country, but if you want baritone vocal stuff or indie rock, check out the album Boxer by The National. If you tagged stuff, I could maybe make better decisions for you and all that.

Well black metal uses "screeching" not "screaming" or even "growling". Death metal uses growling. There's also Meldic Death Metal which uses less harsher and more high pitched vocals (eg, Carcass, At the Gates).

I mostly like their 2011 album, but their older stuff is cool too.
