The 4 Stars

I've had this theory for a little while, and I've wondered what everyone else would think. So, here we go:

 

Everyone remembers Nightmare Moon, right? Of course you do. But do you remember what aided her escape? 4 stars. Now, I'd like to point out that the pictures of the moon were always shown with the four stars. Also, Twilight's cutie mark is a big star, surrounded by 5 smaller stars, representing the Elements of Harmony. So what could the stars around the moon mean? I propose that Luna was corrupted by a force of sorts. This force created Nightmare Moon, and is the reasons all these attacks are happening in such a small amount time. Everything had been peaceful before Nightmare Moon, right? So why are all the big bads only coming now? I believe the four stars represent four villians, around the force that is Nightmare Moon. Of these villians, only 3 have attacked. Discord, Queen Chrysalis, and King Sombra. Who is this last villian? This villian shall be the last piece to the puzzle.

It's an interesting theory, I suppose only time will tell into how true it is.

 

However, we've never heard of Changelings attacking before, so why would they get in league with Nightmare Moon? And Discord was sealed away before Luna became Nightmare Moon, so how could he have aided her escape? Same goes with Sombra.

It's not pointed towards you, but, i'm kind of tired of these "Conspiracies" I mean, just that there is a number that matches to something doesn't mean it's something "Big" or "Meaning"

 

it's nice that people are trying to figure stuff out, but there's a thing called "Canon" and nothing is revealed if it's not canon.

First of all, I don't believe we actually know that everything was peaceful before Nightmare Moon.

 

It's an interesting theory, and usually I'm the one overthinking things, but this time I really think you're looking into this a little too much...

Eh, I honestly don't think there's a connection between these villains. Just because they all have(had) a will to cause harm/chaos/despair/ect to others does not mean they are all with and were against each other.

I highly doubt there is any connection really to the 3 defeated villains and the stars.  I think the 4 stars are like astronomical signs that "aided" her escape.  THey didn't really help in any way they just are symbolizing higher powers or something.
