How's everyone's week starting off?

I slept well this night and I had a good walk, I can say I am pretty relaxed :)

it's ok, I heard back from the viewing I had last week and didn't get it... again. :(

Oh, I feel sorry for you :(

Life has up and downs, but we should never give up ;)

but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten."

How many of you guys want to get married some day?

YES!  :D

I mean . . . I would think most people long for that but yes, I do. Of course just having a girlfriend would be nice right now. (Con you say, "single since high school?")

Me please!! But not right now.. I'm waiting for Daddy to provide me with a home first :D

Well I just said I'm single.  ;)

Kidding.  Although Dear old Dad isn't just going to give you a home. I trust you are working for a home right now.

Of course :D However, that doesn't mean that He's not going to show me which way to go and teach me things along the way :D

So... you're NOT single? :P or is that you trying to flirt? :P

I do, but I feel like who I am/was isn't... worthy of relationship. I don't know how I would word it better, nor would I really like disclosing... at least not here.

But to answer the question, yes, I do want to get married someday.

So let me ask you something, my friends. Do you guys ever feel threatened by anti-theists?

Only if they legitimately threaten me.

I definitely want to get married! I'm just not ready for it, I'm only 16 right now XD

On that note actually, it's funny how often Jesus would heal the sick or walk on water and instead of following up with "THAT is why I'm God" instead, "now that I have your attention, perhaps I could share some life advice with you."

And that is why sometimes being blunt is a bad thing (bible thumpers take note).

As an undated virgin 24 year old who has never kissed a girl, it's been reassured to me many times by older married people that I shouldn't worry about marrying young and not feeling pressured. God's timing is perfect.

I am well aware of this. I do not intend to rush to marriage. That's the mistake my parents made.

Here's a question, anyone play any video games you thought had some strong Christian or at least religious elements to them?

I'm sure just about every game has some element of religion in it, usually used as a plot device like the unitologists in Dead Space.

Although, I do remember playing Dragon Quest 9 I think it was and there's quite a bit of religious elements to it. Not sure if the rest of the DQ games are like that though since DQ 9 was the only one in the series I played :/

Well the "aesthetics" of religion are overwhelmingly present. I mean how many times have you seen angels, demons, and mythological monsters in games?

I was more referring to "elements" beyond mere window dressing. I have a few examples but I was just wondering if anyone else did.

No worries, I wasn't clear enough in what I was asking.

For something of an off beat example of more what I'm referring to, Super Mario Galaxy isn't just "Mario in space" it actually gives us something akin to the mystical cosmology of Mario's world and two of the plot elements are the threat of armageddon and the act of divine creation.

Now I see what you're saying :)

I think the game Journey was sort of like what your saying. For example, the end of the game has the implication of reincarnation in it and I thought the overall game felt like a walk through this life leading onto the next :)

At least that's what I got out of it :P

That's a fair interpretation. Indeed the game's lack of dialogue and mostly abstract narrative make it very much a tabula rasa at least in part. I think it's fairer to say that Journey is less strictly religious as much as it is an exploration of Joseph Campbell's narrative theory. (Ever hear of the Hero with a Thousand Faces?)

In fact, the game's title might even be hinting at the creator's intention. Campbell's outlining of the mythic archetype? It's called "the Hero's Journey." If you're well versed with the monomyth, you can practically plot out all the events of Journey and where they happen on the cycle.

I was actually never aware of that. That's really interesting :D
