Yeah, no problem Sterling. Just hang in there, okay buddy?

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. I'm still hanging strong, but I need to learn to trust God a lot more, even if things aren't very clear or straight for me right now.

I guess you can sum up my struggles with Psalm 88.

Well I've had to live with anxiety and sadness for the whole summer, and while I'm recovering, I'm still hurt inside. Can you guys pray so I can learn to rely more on Jesus? Thanks.

Of course. You'll be in my prayers :)

You've taken the first step by learning to lean on him already through prayer, so you're getting there. As a fellow Christian, I will definitely pray for you. The hard part will be to give all your pain to him, and not just some of it. He is here to walk you through it, and he wants you to dump it all on him, because he wants to take your burden away from you.

In other news, I've encountered another bump in the road in my Christian walk, but I'm not going to let it stop me. A fellow Christian who I've always admired, and who I always looked to for clarification of bible verses, went away for the summer and when he came back I found out he has decided he's not a Christian anymore. I think he just reached the point in his life where he has to go off on his own spiritual journey and find his own answers, but it's disconcerting nonetheless. Then again, God gave me the parable of the prodigal son, and had me consider it from this angle: if the prodigal son hadn't left, he wouldn't have figured out how much life with his father meant to him. I hope my friend finds the answers he's looking for out in the world, and I know this is something he has to do, but he knows that he has Christian family and friends who will welcome him back should he choose to become a Christian again.

I will be praying for you too! :)

By the way, if I remember well from an old post of yours in this thread, you also study and do scientific research. If I recall correctly, you are from the Biology area. Mine is Chemistry. :D

I also remember you talking before about this friend here. I will be praying for your friend too!

Thanks!:) Actually, the friend I was talking about before is a different friend. In his case I knew he was having theological doubts for quite a while. This other friend of mine appeared to be the model Christian. I guess he was struggling with things too that he didn't open up about. I'll definitely be praying for him, but in the meantime my own Christian walk is still going strong. I can't let others falling by the wayside discourage me.

Yeah I've prayed a lot about my problems, but I'm struggling because I feel as if God's not answering. I guess I'm also really sad that one of my closest friends has now become a stranger... perhaps even an enemy because of my wrongdoing. I know I've been saved by Jesus, but it's hard to believe because it just feels like I'm losing all the friends I loved.

Sometimes you need to be insistent about your prayers. If one gets everything right away, there are the risk of becoming lazy or not giving enough value to what you got. ANd it might also be that it is not yet the proper time to get what you want.

This reminds me of this Bible passage:

The Faith of a Canaanite Woman

21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.

26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

(Matthew 15:21-28)

That is cool! I took some classes on Microbiology back in undergraduate college, and my Chemistry degree have a bias towards Biotechnology. Now I am doing my doctorate.

Here is the research group I am on (I am the one in the front with a black shirt):

We study lanthanide materials, which can be used as light emitting materials and have applications like: in screens, medical diagnosis, illumination (for example, fluorescent lamps), anti-counterfeit measures for documents and money, signaling, etc.

That is so cool! You're doing your doctorate?! And about such an interesting type of material too! Which university are you attending? I'm at McMaster University's Biology Department. Our lab actually took pictures of all of us, but I don't have those pics yet. I'll show em once I get them ready! We also have a lab site, but it still needs to be updated.

Yeah... Perhaps I need more faith that God's working through my friend too... That perhaps once day things will get better between us, even if it seems impossible. Or that He's teaching me to have faith as strong as the Caananite woman even when I feel weak. :)

I am at the Institute of Chemistry of the University of Sao Paulo (www.iq.usp.br), and I am writing this post from there right now! I wish good luck on your studies. ;)

I can also remember some circumstances on my life in which things seemed impossible, but things played out in the end. Keep strong in the faith and do whatever is within your reach. If there is nothing you can do, you can still trust in God. :)

I'm trans. Do any of you object?

Not . . . at all. And I can say for certain most hear would not.

Hi, by the way. You don't have to post here like you are laying bait for hungry wolves, we're all bronies here after all.

Speakin' of book learnin's for the smart words talk mouth, I got accepted to the British Columbia Institute of Technology and will be starting Mechanical Engineering Tech. in three weeks, which is an answer to a number of prayers over the past two years. God provides!

Congratulations, @Blue, you deserve it!

By the way, your last sentence reminds me about a jaculatory prayer some do here in Brazil. I don't know the English equivalent, but it translates to "God provides, God will provide, His mercy shall never fail". There is some rhyming that is lost in translation :P.

Ah, I didn't know you were Brazilian Sunwalker. I just want to say that your nation was one of the best vacations I've ever had, and if I had to live anywhere else besides my beloved United States, Brazil would be first among the places I would move to.

My mom basically is saying that I'm a vessel for Satan. And considering the fact that you can't get rid of it must not be good for my mum.

Well your Mom is dead wrong, you are still a person and as far as this Christian is concerned, still good in the eyes of God. It's how we treat others that determines the content of our character, and your mother, and anyone else who would call you such a vile thing, has revealed that they are not good people.

It's been a hard few months, but yeah. The past few months have really been a time where I've read the Bible more and sought out His wisdom. It's been hard giving all my pain to Him because it just feels like He's turning my best friends into strangers/enemies in one fell swoop. But I'm moving forward... I'm moving forward in Jesus, even if hard.

I don't object to it in the same way that your mom does in the slightest. To be honest, her remark sounds awfully un-Christian(re: Temples of the Holy Spirit). At any rate, I wouldn't hate you for being trans or anything of that sort... But that doesn't necessarily mean that I support everything about it either.

I understand what you've been going through to a certain extent. I don't really know what I can say as to offering advice, but I'll pray for you.

So just yesterday, my supervisor decided to give me a $1000 raise for next year. Money from supervisors for grad school is hard to come by, so this move is huge not just for finances but also for my self-confidence since he really likes the work I've put in this past year.

That's despite the fact I've fought a lot of my negative emotions this past summer and felt weaker from it. So thank God for keeping me strong :)

I like to think of it like this:

The Devil introduced gender dysphoria to confuse people.

God invented SRS.
