Ask a Hasbro Executive

Callisto

Recommended Posts

Greetings. I am totally, 100% a Hasbro executive, and I can asnwer any questions you have regarding future episodes, what my work is like, etcetera. I'm technically not a pony, but since I'm a Hasbro executive, I think I get a pass. Begin your questions.

(Going OOC for a moment, there should be a section for asking non-ponies.)

Y'know, I've been on this site for almost ten years and I've never had a proper signature. Ain't that something?

Do you have any extra information on the new episode ''Keep Calm And Flutter On?''.

Also, how in the world did you get here? O.o

"Keep Calm and Flutter On" will be a largely comedy based episode, focusing on Fluttershy. In the end, Discord is returned to his statue state. Also, I came here wishing to interact with "Bronies" more closely.

If you are a Hasbro executive, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be coming up with new ideas for the show?

(OCC) There really should be! You should create a suggestion!

Refer to the above post.

(OOC: I dunno how to do that.)

Who's bright idea was it for streamer-maned plushies?

Seriously. Why don't we have show accurate plushies?

You see them being sold for 40, 60, 100. even 200 dollars a pop online. Has anybody noticed this? If you made show-accurate plushies and sold them for idunno... 20 or even 40 dollars, you'd be rich.

The plush toys with string type hair are cheaper to produce, and seeing as our main demographic is made up of females 4-10, the don't mind the show inaccuracies, and we make more money than we would if we made more expensive plushes.

So you mean to tell me that freelance artists can afford to make a profit off of show-accurate plushies, but a huge company like Hasbro can't? That doesn't sound right to me.

Saying that little kids aren't picky is wrong in many ways. One reason is that it's a generalization, not only are generalizations unfair, but they're also inaccurate. Another reason is, a good number of kids I've met have been extremely picky. More so than even me. They look at that a Hasbro Pinkie Pie plushie and go: "That's not Pinkie Pie," and I'll ask them why. They reply: "Her hair is not right." I quoted that, because that is an actual conversation between me and one of my friend's nieces who is 6, the intended age demographic.

Also do you mean your intended demographic is made up of 4-10 year old females? Because I'm willing to go far enough as to say that more people ages 11+ watch the show than your "Main demographic." This site, the internet, and this entire fandom are proof that A LOT of persons 11+ watch My Little Pony.

I would buy a plushie with no mane over streamers mane.

And it can't be THAT expensive to use the same material as the rest of the body for the mane.

I apologize on behalf of Hasbro if you are dissapointed with our products. I will bring it up in our next meeting. I may be an executive, but I don't have total control over the company.

Shall we discuss something a bit more pleasant?

Quite frankly I don't care if you change the other plushies, as long as you give Fluttershy her mane back.

Again, all suggestions will be taken into consideration and brought up at the next meeting.

I'm sorry if I seemed rude, or unpleasant. That wasn't my intention.

I just feel that it's something that should be pointed out, you know? It's been an issue for quite some time. Plus, it's a good idea.

Hasbro gains credibility and money.

Bronies can finally have show-accurate plushies without paying ridiculous prices due to the quantity-demanded exceeding the quantity-supplied.

I fully understand your complaints. I just don't know the rest of the staff will.

If the idea is never thrown out there, how do you know it will be disliked?

They might like it, they might not. But you won't know unless you try.

I do indeed plan to "throw" the idea out there. It shall be brought up soon. Edited by ThatSpiritofChaos

Question: How is it to work for Hasbro?

Suggestion: There is a fellow on YouTube by the account name of Mandopony who does some very amazing things with musical instruments, ( OOC to see if you have a dirty mind, read that twice. :D ) including writing music that is good enough to be included in the show, I would recommend looking him up. ( I'm not trying to advertise, I just think he's that good, anypony who disagrees should feel free to tell me :D )

Do you have any plans to seek out people making very high quality fan-works based on the show, and give them money without expecting them to directly return your investment considering how well they do at advertising for you?

Working for Hasbro is certainly interesting. We own some of the most widely known and loved brands in the world, so we have to be careful with what we do with them, so it's a bit limiting.

As for your suggestion, I shall look into it.

Probably not. I'm not exactly sure how things like fanart and fanfiction would help advertise "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", because the only people who see things are already fans.

That's not quite true. I became a brony and thus began watching the show almost entirely because of fanart. I was looking for good music and came across some fan-made music that I didn't know was from MLP. And here I am! Ta-da!

I was not trying to criticise you, I was letting you know that something I did conflicts with some information you have. I intended no offence to you or anyone else. I'm only trying to help. :)

Well I appreciate it. Still, you people could ask what my name is, or what I look like...

Let me just say that as a child it annoyed me greatly to see toys of characters that didn't look like the character. It annoyed my friends, too, and we laughed at them a lot....

Well, I kind of agree with you. I like the songs, but not his voice. He sounds like he really needs to clear his throat....Also he seems a little pitchy, I know they're his songs but....the notes seem like they don't work together that well some places.

So, Sir Hasbro Executive, I suggest if you decide on any certain song, change the notes a bit....

Taken into consideration. I recently listened by this "Mandopony" entitled "Loyalty", and quite enjoyed it. I don't think it's exactly fitting for the show, though.
