This is Sapphire Gem's father Asscher Emerald. This work I spent a bit of time on it and I think it's pretty good for my second free hand drawing! I'll be posting its progression as this initial post is a work in progress (W.I.P)

Body looks a bit too bulky,or the head is too small. The legs are also a bit to curvy, I would suggest giving it two parts or making it a bit straighter.

 

Very good for a second attempt though!

Two parts? I don't know what you mean. I copied this from hubworld and this body design was very bulky and I chose it because it is her father. I will admit it might be a bit bootylicious hahahaa

Not really sure how to explain it... but it doesn't have a continuous line. Similar to my avatar picture. They use it for Big Mac in the show., since his build is quite big.

The area on the back leg, where it sticks out, could be a bit more rounded, and the part where his forehoof meets his body could be a bit thicker.

 

But it's really well done!

Progress! I tried to fix the fore leg region that Nightfall mentioned and the alignment issue near the hind leg, I still need to work on the roundness to the back of the rear leg. Also made some very noticeable changes hope you like! This is just an update, this work is still a W.I.P. thanks!

 

Here is the almost finished product of Asscher Emerald! I am keeping the blockiness of his body because I like it as it portrays his fatherliness as well as his once ruthless business self when he was younger. The only thing that is hold me up from finishing it is of course his cutie mark. I am working really hard to perfect it before I put it on his flank. Next OC will be Sapphire's mother Marquise Ruby! Stay tuned!

 

Finishes with both Asscher Emerald and Marquise Ruby! Just missing their cutie marks, they're giving me some trouble. Lol.

I'm seeing some progress in these drawings. Keep working on them and use reference to fix anything you deem needs fixing and you'll be done before you know it. These drawings are coming out nice.
