gaming What is the most memorable video game background character(s)?

Out of all of the numerous video games I have played, only two background characters out of all of them are still on my mind today. The first being Corporal Alvin Bloomfield from Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. He was a witty smart-ass Brooklyn guy that was one of your more humerous companions all throughout the game. He made jokes where he could and provided a much needed uplifting attitude to the dreary World War II atmosphere.

 

The other just as memorable character was the optional companion Rex from Fallout: New Vegas. You recieved Rex from the King in return for service and the hopes that you can fix his slowly dieing brain. Whenever you looked at Rex you would be overcome with sympathy and do all you can to heal him. As him and I made it to Jacobstown (the place you go to fix him up) he started attacking all of the Super Mutant residents there and prevented us from helping Rex. All I could think of at the time was "These AI are all idiots, dogs included".

my favorite background npc was wheatly from portal 2 because he was always funny in the fact that he thought he did everything and he always got hurt and that he started messing things up when (SPOILER) takes control of the facility

Patricia Tannis from Borderlands and Borderlands 2, she's just so funny, crazy, and gorgeous. She's like the perfect woman, she even makes friends with inanimate objects.
