Kites grinned. Somepony was already getting serious... She thought to herself. "I think its a real nice touch." She smiled at him and took the food from the waitress and handed her a tip. She put the food down on the table and handed Cracker his chicken. She.. Didn't know that ponies could eat chicken... But whatever. She was in the process of lighting the candles when there was a particularly loud whoosh of wind and the restraunt was bathed in darkness. Kites calmly handed Cracker a candle. She heard other ponies screaming and some crashing and was a bit worried, but she knew it probably was just a storm or something.  "Um, I guess that the 'little snow storm' has gotten a bit worse..." She said with slight nervousness in her voice. She didn't care about wind, wind she could deal with. But snow... Kites wasn't really the most cold enduring pony, she liked heat better. "Um, do you think we should try and make our way back to the main building?" She asked with noticable nervousness in her voice now. Kites, chill- I mean calm down! Maybe the main building still has power. She thought to herself, trying to keep herself from panicking.

(OOC: If you dont want the power to go out I can change it! I don't mean to mess up the roleplay!)

(OOC: That's fine, the power going out gives it a thrilling experience! Oh, BTW the chicken idea... i was eating some KFC chicken legs, please don't hate me!)

 

Cracker flinched when he noticed the power going out.

He grabbed Kites hand and walked with her up the stairs, and to the main lobby, SnowDream and River Front were near the fireplace. He approached them and asked them if they were ok, but before he could finish the question he couldn't help but looking at the mare's leg, it was bleeding! "Hmm, ma'am, there are some bandages behind the counter, in the first aid kit, i'll be back to cure ya'." He jumped over the counter and grabbed some alcohol and bandages and started to place them on the wound, she screamed in pain but soon she was cured.

"Ma'am, i learned this in mah barn, i tend to get hurt while workin' there, and my ma' taught me first aid lessons." he said blushing.

The cold bit Mask just as hard as it did Night Song. He had brought a nice arctic coat, but he had left it at his room. Mask unconsciously  began to drift toward the closest heat source, until he brushed up against it, realizing that it was Night Song walking beside him. "Oh! Heh, s-sorry!" Mask stuttered, moving a little bit to the side.

Night Song jumped a few inches into the air when she felt Mask absentmindedly brush up against her. "AH! Oh um, it's ok," she replied. Her wings were now wrapped around her so tightly she was pretty much suffocating herself. When they(if you follow) got to the food facility, Night Song almost wanted to gallop up to the entrance, but she wasn't going to leave Mask behind.

Rocket blast woke up and went ad got a quick drink of cider, he looked outside to the blizzard. "great so much for snowboarding" Rocket said to himself. he went back into his room and layed out on the bed. he felt lonely, so he vowed to himself "im going to make this getaway a good one I WILL meet a mare"

Kites finched when SnowDream screamed. She trotted over to her and sat down next to her on the couch. "So, how did you get that cut?" She asked curiously. Kites realized that they all would probably be stuck here for a while, so she wanted to get herself a friend. SnowDrop was the obvious choice. "Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention my name is Kites!" Kites gave her a friendly smile.

Snowdream's hotel room. The storm was already blazing outside, the windows were shaking and making loud noises, and River was lying on the floor, unconscious.

A few stormy moments passed, and Rive finally started to open his eyes. He fluttered them a little bit, and he woke up suddenly. He shook his head and uttered unintelligibly while trying to sit up. He rose up and looked around the room, he saw his luggage to his right, and he realized it was Snowdream's room.

'What... happened?" he looked confused. It was most likely due to the trauma he was caused that he could not remember. He stood up on all fours and went over to his bags. He opened one of the pockets in the side of his suitcase, and took out a white sheet of paper. He took out a pen too and took both the paper and the pen to the bedside-table.

'Forgot what happened, in case of reoccurring amnesia, your name is River, you are at a resort, you are staying in a room of a mare you like, her name is Snowdream, find her first if you can't remember.' he wrote on the paper. He took the paper with him, and returned the pen to the side of the suitcase. He took his saddlebag and stashed the paper inside it. He put the saddlebag on him and started to hover.

'Right, now to find Snowdream, I hope she got inside before that storm' he thought to himself. He flew out of the room, and headed for the stairs. he went down one plight, and meant to continue to the lobby.

What he didn't expect to see though, was what he had forgotten.

"RIVER!" she shouted.

"Sarah?" he asked confused and stopped hovering, his sister Sarah immediately hugged him. He was still very confused as to what's going on.

"What are you doing here, Sarah?" he asked out of sheer naivety. Sarah let go of him.

"I've been looking all over for you! I had to rent a room for the night to look for you! Oh I'm so happy you're okay" she replied and gave him another quick hug.

"Oh, um, okay, why have you been looking for me?" he asked another.

"Well, after you didn't get on the train, I saw you fly away, and because I couldn't get off the train, and because this storm started out of nowhere, I had to rent a room here, and when I asked the receptionist about you, she said you had checked in, so I've been looking for you all day!" answered Sarah.

"Oh... right... hey, do you mind if we continue this in the lobby? I was on my way to search for something" said River. Sarah nodded, and they both got down to the lobby. He searched with his eyes for a moment, and saw a few ponies crowded at the fireplace, he decided to check there.

"Listen, Sarah, stay here for a second, I'll... be right back" he asked Sarah, and didn't give her a chance to respond. River made his way over to the fireplace, and right behind one of the couches. He looked forward, he looked at the couch to the left, he looked at the couch to the right, and he looked dow-'SNOWDREAM!'

Snowdream was bleeding, shivering and was covering her face with her hooves, River was silent for a moment, he was a little shocked.

"S-Snowdream! What happened to you?" he asked, very much concerned.

Snowdream heard somepony say her name. She looked up, and into the concerned eyes of River.

 

"RIVER!" She gasped, jumping off the seat and pulling him into a tight hug, "Are you okay? I'm so sorry! I didn't mean.. I didn't know.."

 

She saw him looking at her grazed leg.

 

"Don't worry about that, I tripped on the staircase, It doesn't really hurt."

 

She looked up feeling like they were being watched. Sure enough there was a mare staring River and Snowdream.

 

'Is she watching us? Oh Celestia is this his mare friend? Oh no! I'm hugging him in front of his mare friend.' She thought

 

Abroubtly, Snowdream ended the hug and stepped back a few steps from River, glancing back at the mare. She didn't look angry, she wasn't storming over to shout at River.

 

'I hope she doesn't take anything out on River, it wasn't his fault, I was the one who hugged him after all.'

 

Snowdream started feeling horrible again.

 

'I thought we could have had something. How stupid of me! I just presumed the stallion who talked to me was single! I just hope we can still be friends....'

 

interupting her thoughts a stallion came over to her and said something about her leg and fixing it. The next thing she knew there was a seering pain and Snowdream screamed out in agony. He bandaged it up but it started to feel hot. Snowdream focused what little energy she had remaining and formed a layer of cooling snow over her bandaged leg. A mare that had followed behind the stallion trotted over and sat on the couch next to her.

 

The mare inquired as to how Snowdream had gotten the cut.

 

"I was outside when the blizzard started and, in my haste to get inside I slipped on the stairs." She replied blushing at how clumsy she had been.

 

 "Oh, sorry, I forgot to mention my name is Kites!" The friendly mare said  to her, smiling.

 

Snowdream formed more snow on her leg, the previous lot having melted from the warmth of the fire.

 

"My name's Snowdream, and this here is River." Snowdream replied gesturing to River.

An idea came to Kites, "Wait, if you can control snow... Do you think you could fix the blizzard?" Kites asked her hopefully. Kites really hoped so, she could feel the heat draining out of the room now that the power had gone out, even with the fire.

"Not right now I couldn't, I've used so much magic today, I can barely even Lift things." she replied, struggling to lift up a pillow, to prove her point, "I could have a go tomorrow, but the storm seems pretty powerful, not like anything I've ever seen and I spent alot of my childhood in the snow."

"Seems like you are a'right ma'am, as for you Kites, i'm sorry this ruined our... 'date'." Cracker said smiling.

He then approached the sofa and looked at the leg, "seems it will take a while for you to recover, it was quite deep".

The fire of the fireplace was going off slowly.

Mask and Night Song walked into the food-hall to see that all the lights were off. "Hmm. I thought those were powered by magic. I guess that goes to show how reliable this "lightning power" is..." Mask said, a bit peeved at the inconvenience. A quick look out the window revealed three pegasi in hard-hats scrambling to some coil-like structure that was built out of the way of most of the resorts buildings and had been tied to said buildings with some odd, shiny rope. The rope tying it to the food center had been severed by the extreme winds of the ongoing blizzard. Resort workers began to light candles and torches. By all the backup lighting, one could conclude that the resort executives knew how unreliable this new technology was in such an early state. "Well, I suppose we can still get something to ea-" Suddenly, a large deafening rumble was heard from outside, and the ground began to rumble, knocking Mask off his hooves, and startling countless others. Sounds of crashing and tumbling rocks could be heard, and near the end of it all, the sound of crunching metal. "What was that!?" Mask shouted to no one in particular.

River watched as the scene took place, Kites, Cracker and Snowdream. He was a few steps back though, next to his sister and out of sound's reach.

"Who's the blue one?" asked Sarah.

"Her name is Snowdream, not the blue one." said River, making a statement out of it.

"Fine, jeez, don't be a drama queen, how do you know her?" she asked.

"I think I met her on the blimp, but I'm not entirely sure, either way I'm staying in her room until they get mine ready" answered River.

"Ooooh, I see, you're trying to get a little hmm-mmhmm" she nudged him shoulder to shoulder.

"What! No! It's not like that, she's... Look I want to take this slow okay, I'm not going to screw this up" he replied.

"Whatever floats your boat River" said Sarah and began trotting away. But that conversation left River thinking.

'What if... what if Snowdream doesn't feel the same way? What then? Oh this is bad, this is so bad, I need to make things clear between me and her' he thought, he knew he liked Snowdream, he knew he wanted her to be his mare-friend, but he didn't know how to make it happen...

River went back over to the couch where Snowdream was, near the fireplace, Kites and Cracker had left Snowdream.

He came over to Snowdream, he looked at her, and she looked at him, he felt something in that moment, something he had never felt before.

Love.

He sat down on the floor between the couch and the fireplace, and he just lay there... waiting for something to happen...

Night Song was a little frightened by the darkness in here, but she was warm now, so it was all good and well. "I wonder where we sh-" The blue Pegasus jumped and let out a short scream when the rumbling sound slashed across her mind like an enchanted sword wielded by a unicorn mage. "What just happened?!" Night Song yelled out.

Snowdream jumped as she felt the ground shake and rumble then she heard a loud crashing noise. Everyone in the room looked up, some rushing to windows others hugging and shaking in fear. Snowdream lit up her horn to provide a small amount of light, but a moment later her horn flickered and the blue aura around it fizzled out.

 

 

"What was that!" she whispered to River who had been staring at her as it happend.

 

I hope nothing bad has happened. I hope this is just a power outage.

 

Snowdream started shaking in fear of what could have happened, and ponies might have been hurt.

Mask got up on his hooves again, and shakily walked to the nearest window "C'mon, let's have a look." Mask beckoned to Night Song. Peering out the window, Mask saw that the tunnel that they arrived at the resort in had not only been blocked be a rocky avalanche, but had crashed on the train.

Starshy snapped out of her depression, she had been sitting by the fireplace by the lobby so long that she hadn't been paying much attention to whatever had been going on around her. What had caused her to come back to earth was a sudden rumbling noise. She leaped up from her seat and went to the nearest window. The lights had gone off and everything seemed to take a different turn in just a short amount of time - or rather maybe longer, she had lost track of it a bit. Shaking her head to rid the thoughts she knew were coming back to make her sad again, the tip of her unicorn horn began to glow like a small candle, providing some light as she wondered what was going on.

Cracker Jack started to wander around the lobby, hoping to get an idea to stop the snow from entering the place, when suddenly he figured it out.

After a long conversstion with the manager, he brought some large planks and started to break them into smaller pieces with his bat.

He then covered the broken windows with the blanks by nailing them.

"I think we will be safe for a while" he said to his fellow companions rather worried.

Storm had been in his hotel room for so long he had lost track of the days. He knew he should have been out there, trying to win the mare of his dreams, but all he had done so far was mope and drink cider. Suddenly, he heard what sounded like the biggest thunderstorm ever to hit Equestria intermixed with a series of loud bangs. He tried to look out the window but the snow piled on it made the view indecipherable. After a moment of consideration, the the pegasus decided it would be best to go down to the lobby and find out what had happened. The only problem was whatever caused the rumbling noise had also knocked out the power. Searching through his room, Storm found a candle and hoped the dim light would be enough to guide him down the three flights of stairs separating him from his destination. A short walk (and a few bruises) later Storm reached the ground floor of the lodge. The large room left Storm a bit disoriented, as the candle only lit up the first few feet of space in front of him. Looking around, he noticed what appeared to be a dim spark hovering in the air. Storm began to walk towards it and tried to decode the strange phenomenon. His heart stopped when he realized who the light was connected to. It was her, Starshy, the beautiful mare he had met in the elevator. A deep sadness sprung up in his heart. Storm had been so determined to win her over and yet he had let his fear of failure, once again, keep him from even trying. Self-directed anger swelled inside of him, soon replaced by a steely determination. Even if I go down, I'm going down trying. With a gleam in his eye and a (hopefully convincing) air of confidence about him, Storm walked over to greet Starshy. "Wow, your pretty-I mean, uhm, uh, do you know what happened to the power?" Suprisingly , the multiple days of seclusion had done nothing to improve Storm's social skills.  ((OOC: I'm back!!!!))

Starshy glanced at Storm Front, surprised the sound of his voice. She looked happy to see him, however, blushing at bit at his comment in regards to her. The sadness she felt earlier in the day was ebbing away. Her eyes took in his appearance, he looked bruised. " Are you okay? " She asked, lowering her head a bit so that the light from her horn was directing on him. Sure enough, there were a few bruises on him but it didn't look like anything too serious.

 

She shook her head at his question. " No, I was surprised from the sudden rumbling. I - " She paused, not exactly feeling like retelling the whole story from when she had been with Chocolate for a brief time and everything up to the point where she was sitting in the lobby. " I'm not really sure. I think maybe it could've been something big that caused it"

Chocolate stirred, his eyes opening for the first time since he had been struck in the head by a piece of the building that had come loose during the loud rumbling. The last thing he remembered was leaving the dining area to get some thinking time. When he came to. he realized the entire resort seemed to be under blackout, whatever had caused the power to go out was probably the same thing that had caused a part of the building to collapse on him. He shakily stood up, the same piece of rubble that might have fatally injured any other pony only stunned the large brown stallion.

 

He could hear a commotion coming from somewhere but he was unable to see in the dark. He started to move slowly and cautiously to the nearest wall. Using his hoof he began to follow the walls towards the sound of multiple voices. When he made it to the main lobby he could see various ponies gathered together also trying to make sense of what had happened. Apparently a snow storm of sorts had not only knocked out the power but it had also taken out the entrance to the resort. They were all stuck here for the time being. "...We should remain calm." He said introducing himself to the group as he stepped forward.

"I think something collapsed" he answered, he took her hoof in his, "but don't worry, we'll be fine, you should get some sleep, you've had a long day" he said. River got up onto the couch himself, and he lay next to Snowdream. He covered her with his wings, hoping to help her fall asleep.

"I won't promise anything, but we'll see what's going to happen next tomorrow morning" he said. As much as he enjoyed the closeness of the situation, he was doing what he was doing to protect Snowdream, he wasn't sure from what exactly, but he wanted to make her feel better, at the very least, and what's better than sleep to get somepony into a good mood?

It seemed as if nothing else but the couch, the fireplace, and Snowdream were surrounding him, as if there was no storm, as if he was just on some random shack in some cloud, sharing a special moment with the one he loves...

He figured Snowdream had already fallen asleep. He started to whisper...

"Snowdream, I looo-awwwww" but he did not finish his sentence, he fell asleep as well.

 

(OOC: sorry if I'm hijacking the plot a little bit, but I figured it was harmless enough if it's just me and Snowdream falling asleep )

[Snowdream 221]

Snowdream relaxed a bit when he took hold of her hoof. She felt comforted by it. When River suggested sleep, Snowdreams eyelids started to feel heavy, every second was a struggle to stay awake.

 

She felt him climb onto the couch next to her, he laid his wing over her, kind of like a blanket.

 

She felt a warm fuzzy feeling inside of her, and she felt safe and warm. Finally she let the walls break and sleep overcame her.

 

'River... I love you.' Was the last thing she thought, before the blackness of sleep.

Kites stood there stunned. What. the. BUCK had just happened? There was the black out darkening the entire building. The bucking whatever that huge rumble was, which partially collapsed the building, blocked the front door, and broke a few windows. Not to mention a huge earth pony just walked calmly out of the rubble, Cracker is running around breaking and nailing boards, and there are those two ponies standing off in the darkness. Kites sighed, she hated chaotic situations. She glanced back over at the fire, she noticed River and Snowdream sleeping. She suddenly realized how tired SHE was. She wondered if she should go back up to her room or... Whatever. She trotted over to the other couch that was next to the fire, cuddled up towards the side closer to the fire, and fell asleep.

"Im fine" Storm replied to Starshy, "I just tripped a couple times coming down the stairs, hehe." Storm reddened a bit at his clumsiness. Suddenly a massive chocolate stallion, aptly named Chocolate as Storm had discovered, was illuminated by the intermixed glow of candlelight and magic. "The staff will probably address the problem soon" Storm added, after hearing Chocolate's suggestion for everyone to stay calm. "The best thing we can do is sit here and wait, I guess."

Starshy sat down, deciding there wasn't much use it in worrying. Besides, now that they were stuck she had the opportunity to get to know Storm. He was so cute, blushing like that.

 

Her eyes turned to glance at Chocolate for a brief time, then looked away again. She hoped he wasn't upset with her and she prayed they could be friends at least. He's such a kindhearted stallion.

Night Song's eyes widened and a gasp escaped out of her when she saw the wreckage outside of the window. Just then, a rolled up letter appeared in front of her and dropped on the ground(Chaser Wing has a unicorn friend who can use teleportation spells). She unrolled the letter and read:

I hope all is well at the resort. Must be scarey to be out on your own for the first time. But you're a grown up mare and I believe you can do it. Just like what we planned, please send a reply. Hope to hear from you soon!

"Mask, is there some paper nearby?" Night Song asked with a panic-filled voice. She knew that in a really bad situation, Chaser Wing would be the only one to stay calm , to the point that others would call him " emotionless". However, she was scared of his reaction to this news and didn't know what she should write.
