planning Anyone up for an MTG-MLP crossover?

Title has everything you need.

So, I was just sitting at my Magic desk organizing cards, when I thought to myself, Man, I bet My Little Pony Magic would be hilarious! So here we are!

Rules:

1. Godmod is bad, don't do it.

2. Same for Mary-Sues.

3. Alicorns are allowed, but depending on the power of the individual, there will be nerfing.

4. Post at least once every two days!

Form:  (I know, I hate them too. Necessary evil and all that.)

Name:

Race:

Home Plane: (Mirrodin? Ravnica? Jund?)

Magic Style:  (creature-based? Spell-based? Burn? Mill?)

Color Alignment:  (black-green, blue-white, etc.)

Planeswalker Abilities: (Take counters. Have one +1/2/3/etc. ability, and one game-ender. Maximum 4 abilities or 8 if flip-card.)

This should be obvious, but if you do not know how to play MTG or know the names of some of the creatures and spells and things, please don't sign up. It's nothing personal, it's just annoying to have someone pulling random spells out of their plot. Thank you!

*faints with joy*

Hooray! A MTG/Pony Crossover. Time to introduce something to be seriously nerfed...

Can I has Jace Berelin? :(

I didn't think of that. Should I allow already-existing planeswalkers?

I think no, then someone would just choose Vraska and then everything would just be "OH WAIT I looked at you you daid." OCs only, sorry, bud.

Double posting amuses me!

Maybe my topic is getting more attention because people like MTG a lot in this fandom?

I put out a topic not three days ago, more or less I have a story somewhat planned out, so if you need it, I'm willing to give it out :D

I would consider this since I do like playing MtG, but I haven't gotten any new cards in years or paid attention to the whole background story ever. Heck, the only deck I have is a structure deck from Mirrodin slightly modified with cards even older than that, and isn't allowed in any tournaments due to being massively broken under certain circumstances.

I also haven't done much RPing in almost as long, and don't really have an OC planned out.

While I like the concept of this RP and would be more than interested to participate in something like this, I must ask exactly how the magic duels are going to occur. The entire point of the Lore in M:tG feeds itself towards the magic duels and are a primary focal point of the entire series. After all, the magic duels were the entire reason that the card game was invented.

That being said, before I do an official sign up for the RP, I need to know how they are planning on being done. After all, not everypony has cockatrice or M:tG Online so we can't just "duel" it out, and there's no possible way that we could use legit decks that we have built for this.

Could be similar to in game planeswalkers with their loyalty points and abilities, that was my idea a while back, and then have a small assortment of sorceries and instants to be used?

Well, in my thoughts you don't 'summon' as much as recruit, turn, etc. So that covers creatures. Instants and sorceries use 'mana' in the sense of how accomplished you are, sort of like learning magic as a unicorn, with probably less book learning, although how you get your smarts is up to you. 'Mana' in the creature sense represents resources or connections or the like.

I think how the battles should go is:

Step 1: Establish that there IS a battle going on! Don't just fling yourself in.

Step 2: At some point, you should say what sort magical prowess you have. Note: Unicorn magic is an entirely different thing. You don't have to be a unicorn to do Magic magic.

Step 3: Find an instant or sorcery you'd like to play. It has to be within your power perimeters, and that includes anything with 'X' in the value. Post it in the OOC, and we'll figure out if it's overpowered or not.

Step 4: If no, hit the opponent with it! They RP their reaction, rinse and repeat.

I am taking suggestions on how to do it though. Same sort of thing with loyalty counters on your planeswalker 'card'. Also, I am adding a new portion to the signup: Planeswalker abilities. How many counters it takes, what exactly it does, etc. Hang in there, everyone.
