  1. 1. Do you think the comics are a sign that Princess Twilicorn is temporary?

You know how in the comics, most especially the upcoming mini-series, Twilight remains a unicorn? And, let's not forget about the books, one of which have the girls visit the sea-ponies. Do you think those are signs that Princess Twilicorn from the show will be permanent?

For me, I believe so. The comics often intersect with that of the show, like how in the first issue, they actually referenced Canterlot Wedding in order to establish Queen Chrysalis as the main-villain.

Wait wait wait wait wait............................................................................................................................Sea ponies?

Forget what i said earlier about trusting Hasbro. If they introduce Sea Ponies into Friendship is Magic point me in the direction of the nearest cliff so that i may jump from it.

Staying on topic, Yeah i think Twilight Alicorn is here to stay which i'm ok with.

Who knows, maybe they just didn't want Twilight alicorn in the comics, ever, which is why she isn't one, it could happen. What I mean is that it doesn't necessarily mean Twilicorn is here to stay, it could just mean that the comic series decided to ignore it.

Then how come in the comics, Twilight is still a unicorn?

To me, I hope this change is only temporary, and that the comics are signs that Twilight will still remain a unicorn in the show, even after the events of Magical Mystery Cure.

No idea... maybe the comic and show aren't going to line up? It's Hasbro-Licenced but i'm not entirely sure how much of a grasp they have over what Katie's writes, if any.

Well, for me, I believe that the comics are a sign that Princess Twilicorn is only going to be temporary. Twilight will eventually realize that her princesshood is no replacement for her friends, and she'll decide to resign from royalty to be with them again.

After all, the desire to become a princess is amongst the most negative girly stereotypes in the world. The show had always portrayed girls as several times more complex than just princesses, frolicking, tea-parties, and romance. By turning Twilight into a princess, they're instead reinforcing those negative stereotypes, like G3 and G3.5 from years past. It doesn't matter if princesshood is earned or inherited, because in the end, the idea of women wanting to be princesses is just a negative stereotype, sometimes even bordering on offensive.

Although the change is permanent, I have strong confidence that Twilicorn might still be with her best friends! Nothing else to say.

Much as I would love to take this as a sign that Alicorn Twilight is temporary, it's possible that the comics simply take place before the season three finale. I think that it will be temporary anyway mind you, I just don't think this is evidence.

No. Why? This stories take place between Seasons 2 and 3. The Twilicorn thing was apparently as much of a surprise to some of the comic staff as it was to us.

And the canonicity of the children books is in questions. The show staff have expressed interest and enthusiam in keeping the comics canon. No mention on the children books.

The sea ponies are a book thing. And basing on the one of sea critter shown so far, its much better than the G1 dancing sausages.

By this point I'm pretty sure its been confirmed that the comics (possibly even the Twilight Mini-Series) take place somewhere in-between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3. Until something is brought up that directly corresponds to an event from the third season, like Trixie's return in "Magic Duel" for example, we can't really know for sure.

Technically speaking also, and the same goes for a lot of fanfics, there is nothing indicating that these events couldn't have happened in the space between episodes. Anything that happens in both the books and comic could very well be easily squeezed in between know events without disrupting the story at all. Even if Alicorn Twilight does become permanent, you could just as easily say that the mini-series takes place before all that and nothing would change.

The comic's official setting is RIGHT after the canterlot wedding.

Also known as right between season 2 and season 3

While I do hope Alicorn Twi is temporary, the comics aren't of much proof.

Does anyone even realize that the episode is not out yet, and everyone of you is jumping to the conclusion that Princess Twilicorn is going to be permanent? Who knows? It could actually come to a surprise as to be temporary rather than permanent. Hell, I even wrote an angry fan-letter to Hasbro, telling them to change Twilight back into a unicorn, or else they'll face a million angry letters from other bronies like myself telling them the same thing! In response, they said they were sorry, that customer-satisfaction is always a first priority, and that they'll send this to management.

Who's jumping to conclusions? I said if it was permanent, as in I'm not ruling out either outcome at this point. Also, writing an angry letter to Hasbro for making changes to their show, that they own, and that you have zero control over no matter what you say or do was incredibly stupid. Their response was probably not "OMG we should be scared and work to change the show to cater more to the fans" and more "Crap, another letter from one of those nut-jobs. Burn it and send him the stock response!".

I think she will stay that way. The reason why IDW doesn't put twilacorn in the comics is: 1. The comics take place in between season 2 an season 3 and maybe even during it. 2. IDW has Doctor Who comics, when the doctor turned 11th, it took about a year before teh latest doctor started appaering in the comics. Meaning it might take about a year before princess twilight is in the comics.

It's hard to say. I think the comic might take place right after the Crystal Empire episode. One of the covers has Sining Armor throwing Cadences into the air. Which took place in that episode. So it another story thats taking place during season 3.

Or it could just be after season 2 episode and it's still building up to The CE episode. Hard to say.
