It was a foggy day in Heim. If one had to describe it in more detail, one would cite as a reference the smoke coming out of a pipe, only without the particles. The smell was the same however, and nobody cared though since it had been like that for the past decades. Sure, the elderly remember when it didn't smell like tar, but they didn't mention it for a reason that will probably stay unknown for a long time.

Let's take a closer look at a city in Heim, called Gruebeln. Named after one of the, now late, great generals, the city has flourished since it's creation about three hundred years ago. It's existence is a proof of courage for the Kingdom of Heim. As with all historical facts, they slowly start to fade out of the minds of the young, and so it is no surprise that many do not know that Gruebeln was erected on the last Battlefield of a war which is now no more. Of course history books exist but some of the facts sound so ridiculous now that they aren't read as much as they should be.

Gruebeln has a fairly large surface due to its large population and the fact that the houses are not build very high. It mainly consists of four parts. The Outer Ring, infamous for it's violence, creepy characters and most importantly, the underground movements which more often than not clash between each other. Then there also exists the Inner Ring, which is the largest part of the city as it houses over half of the population. While the neighbourhood is noisy, ponies are usually nice and well behaved. It is here where most of the Merchants set up shop due to the richer and safer environment. If one would travel further inwards one would be greeted by a big magic wall. This was the Inner City. A fairly large complex of mansions that were build in honor of the great heros. None of them are alive by now, but their legacy remained and their old housing places now belong to the most influential and rich ponies in the land. Access to this Area is highly restricted due to what some might call a Neighborhood association. In the heart of the Inner City lies the Mausoleum, where the remains of the 50 Great Heroes lie. In front of it, stands a Cenotaph in honor of Gruebeln.

It was a windy day as a cry could be heard out of a small room in an unknown street deep within the Inner Ring. It was the Birthday of Arcanel. His mother who just gave birth, passed away due to a minor complication that did not get treated for some reason. His father followed her into the Grave not soon after, as what the police called, "a very unfortunate incident" as he was killed during an attempted robbery of the place he was working at. This was about three decades ago. Their names have been long forgotten by the general public and Arcanel is the only representative of his Family that is still alive in the City. He had received a general education and due to his excellent results he got the attention of a few of the higher placed ponies. This allowed him to get a job as a delivery boy for a wealthy company that mostly serves ponies in the Inner City, thus allowing him to enter that part without much trouble.

Fast Forward to the day of today. It has been about a month since he got that job and he's been getting excellent reviews since. He even overheard his supervisor that they might issue him a flight permit which would allow him to fly all over the city. That is, cross the Magical Wall at certain spots in the air without having to wait at the numerous checkpoints around the restricted area. It is early in the morning and a loud banging could be heard at the door of Arcanel's modest housing place. He lived in the Inner Ring, Kruder Street, 34, second floor. Oh and the banging sounded urgent.

The sun was high in the sky as a new soul inhabited the land of Heim, it was Daylight's birth. His mother radiating with joy held him close in her hooves as they had their first eye contact. The birth was without any complication what so ever and the doctors congratulated the parents for their beautiful new son. Daylight was born in the Inner Circle which meant that even if his background wasn't the most luxurious one he and his family managed to get by without much trouble. This allowed him to go to a good school and a good education. The only thing that was off, was his inability to correctly remember complex mathematical relations which greatly hindered his academic progress. It didn't annoy him though, as his true passion was in helping others. This also led him to discover his cutie mark. Trough a mechanism he has yet to correctly master he was able to catch a thief. This spell he cast which allowed him to navigate the dark corner of the outer circle was something he didn't knew he was capable off. As he catched the tief he took pity in him. Not only was he injured but he also was poor. He let the thief go, giving him a few pointers to lead a correct life and took the stolen object back to the owner. It was at this moment that he got told his cutie mark had appeared.

A few years later his parents decided to move out of the city. They figured they were too old for the hectic life and so Daylight lived now on his own in Gruebeln. He found a place to his liking and settled down. It was just at the outer edge of the Inner City. He also took his career a step forward and made out of himself a Private Detective. This proved to be the right choice as he was rather successful in the  crime plagued city.

Fast forward to today. Daylight was in his Office as the phone rang, something that was quite usual lately.

It was morning and Daylight was sitting in his comfortable chair at his desk scribbling away on some paper. He was just finishing up a report for the last vase he had just finished the day before. He was surprised how many he seemed to be getting lately, because even though he knew even though the city of Heim was plagued with crime most of his cases ended up being tied with the outer circle in one way or the other as that's where all of the shady business went on. He knew a bit about of a few of the organizations that were in there but everything he had was too flimsy and there was nothing concrete to pin anything on anypony specifically.

He sighed and put his pen down for a moment to rest his hooves. Paperwork was always boring to do but it had to be done so he had a record of everything he had ever done as one day he might need it. It was what a detective was supposed to do, as he had learned by all the crime novels he had read.

Day decided to stretch his leg for a bit so he got up out of his chair and walked over to the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee. He lived in a apartment on the second floor so everything was basically all as one big room. Having made his coffee, Day walked over to the other side of the apartment to look out the window while levitating the cup in front of him with his magic. It wasn't much of a view, as all his view was mostly taken up by the magic field which protected the inner city, but at least he wasn't stuck staring at some bring wall. From his window, he could get a clear view of the checkpoint into the inner city. It was always very busy, and today was no different. Ponies coming from and going into the inner city. from his observations, it mostly seemed to rich, fancy dressed ponies as well as servants and guards that passed through it.

Day then took a sip of his coffee and turned his attention back to the magical barrier but instead of looking at it directly, he looked through it to the inner city. He couldn't see too much due to the blue tinge of the barrier but it was enough that he could see the city was a lot better off than the circle. It just screamed posh to anypony who looked at it. He kinda wished he could venture in there himself one day... but it was mostly out of curiosity. Crime would probably be almost non existent there so there would be nothing for him to do. He knew he was needed out here the most.

After enjoining what little scenery there was, he remembered that he needed to finish that report that was still on his desk. He sighed, before walking back over to it and sitting down and placing his cup down on the desk beside him. He picked his pen back up and began to write again, when all of a sudden, the phone began to ring again. He was a little hesitant to answer it at first as the phone had been ringing quite a lot the past week with ponies experiencing a lot of problems to keep him busy, there was also a number of calls from ponies trying to sell him things. He remembered the last time how he almost lost his temper at a very insistent salespony who wanted to sell him a years supply of parasprite repellent who interrupted him right when he was about to go out.
“Look, I don’t have 500 bits to go throwing around on something I don’t even need! We don’t get them here that often in Gruebeln, and when we do, everyone knows you can just play music to them to lead them away so GoodBye!” He said angrily, putting emphasis on the last word before slamming down the phone. He ended up being stuck on the phone for a good 10 minutes and missed a deal that went on in the lower circle which he was rather annoyed at afterwards. At first, he didn't want to just hang up on him as that would be impolite of him but he ended up doing so before he went on to say something he was sure he would regret afterwards.

Day knew he couldn't ignore the phone though as there was a more likely chance it was somepony who needed his assistance then a salespony so he reluctantly reached over and picked up the receiver and answered it in a friendly but slightly irritated voice.
“Daylight Private Investigator Services This is Detective Daylight speaking how can I help you?”

A friendly chuckle could be heard from the other side of the line. You recognize the voice belonging to one of your 'colleagues', known by everyone as Grey he worked for the Justice Force and this gave him enough confidence to assert his superior riddle solving. Truth is however that he did solve many cases. And this thanks to his position since he was able to gather any information he needs by just showing people his badge. The Justice Force was known for it's unscrupulous ways and it didn't shy away from extorting more money than previously agreed upon. Most citizens knew this but The J.F. delivered every time. This spawned numerous theories about their success and their real purpose, one as far fetched as the other. But the only thing that is not contested is their origin. The Great Heroes created it in a hope to eradicate violence and unruliness in the city. So far they have been unsuccessful though in the totality since the Inner and Outer Circle still suffer from Violence.

"Having enough time to answer the phone? Eh?", he chuckled again, "I wanted to inform you", his voice had suddenly changed to be much more serious, "that Sir Drake, my superior, wants to see you. He's expecting you in two hours at the Head Quarters. Be on time." With this he hang up and only the faint noise of static could be heard.

Sir Drake was a rather mysterious person since pretty much nobody ever got to see him directly.

The Head Quarters of the J.F. is in the Inner City.

Being born into a wealthy family carries with itself quite a huge social burden. Everyone is looking at you, expecting you to succeed, some manage, other breakdown. Standoff was born into the family of Cirdin whose lineage is perfectly known, unlike many of the great Heroes. The Cirdins lived all exclusively in the Inner City where they owner a large mansion, a garden and the needed staff to maintain it. Then, a year later, his parents suddenly disappeared, making him an orphan, a wealthy orphan. However, his parents had made their will so that he will touch his fortune only at a later time. The specific condition was that he has to get together a million bits before getting anything. This made quite a lot of his relatives reluctant in helping him, since nobody wanted to give him money, in fear they might not see it again. Happily one of them was kindhearted enough to take him under their wing. His uncle Schloss. He was a rather small pegasus who got disowned by his family as his mother was not of a noble breed. He managed get by though, by making and repairing locks. Standoff who was too young at the time to help, spent time outside playing in the Inner Circle, where Schloss lived.

Once Standoff was a bit older Schloss explained to him what is going on with his will, what the rest of his family did and why he had to come live with him. He also went to school so as to have a basic education.

Today he was living on his own, enrolled in the Justice Force where he is currently in Cat. E Div. 2.

A white pegasus was peacefully sleeping in his bed as the sun started to rise. Arcanel was having a very good dream. After hearing that he might be getting the ever so wished pass to go through the forcefield whenever he wanted had really left him with a lot of hype, and was only able to sleep when he managed to control his own giddyness.

However, it was still quite shocking to him that he had impressed on his superiors so much. While it was true he had been working very hard in these last years as a mailpony to make everyone around him as proud as he could, he never even expected to rise so fast so quickly, and it almost made his boss laugh when Arcanel almost fainted at receiving promotions. However, all of it brought him here and he couldn't have been more happy currently.

As he was enjoying his dream however, there was a loud banging on the door that woke him up, the sound being loud enough for the mailpony to react fast, yet falling from the bed instantly, making him groan in pain. "Ugh........ for the love of Celestia and Luna, who in Equestria bangs on the door this loud this early in the morning?" he said, getting slightly annoyed at his rude awakening. However, as he saw that the loud banging continued, he went on trying to get on his hooves to get to the door. "Okay... it probably is something important if they're banging like that... COMING!" he yelled, to make sure that his sudden guest would know he was awake, even though the banging continued. "I'm just glad I don't hate the mornings. Otherwise.." Arcanel trailed off, not wanting to know what would happen if he was grumpy in the mornings. As he got close to the door, he sped up his walk so he wouldn't have to hear the loud banging any more, and, putting on his best polite face, he opened the door. "Good morning. Is there something wrong that you needed to bang so loud?" the pegasus asked, his annoyance slightly slipping on his facial features, but managing to hide it as much as he could.

"Honey!", a soft voice spoke before jumping on him, giving him a hug. Soon after, the pony let go of him, revealing to be a female unicorn, about the same age as he is, her Cutie Mark was a... football. A creeping thought told him that he already saw her, some sort of Deja Vu. She would then force herself inside and close the door. "Why didn't you call me back? I have been waiting the past week! Could it be that you are trying to bail out?", she frowned and her ears drooped. "You promised! You can't just go and break that...", she would push him away slightly and look at the ground. Standoff often wondered if joining the Armed Forces had been a good idea. Sure, he had a fancy medal for twelve years of service, but those twelve years hadn't actually involved anything justice-like. The riot a few years back wasn't justice, it was a crackdown. Same with most of the other things he was sent to do. At least the pay was good enough to take care of the two S's and still be on track for his goal. The visit with Schloss yesterday had gone well too. He couldn't really complain, he could be doing a lot worse for himself...

@,

Things can always go a lot worse, especially with this GM. But he seems to be in a nice mood today, so nothing really major happened. A few aggression have been reported and just one robbing that involved magic. A loud knock could be suddenly heard on the door, followed by a letter that got slid under it. If one would inspect it further it would have no address, nor does it tell who sent it. It seemed to be heavy, and a light fuzzy feeling is emanating from it.

[ Sorry for the long delay, but I planned on doing all the replies in one big go, but seems like things didn't go by plan :) ]

"What the hay?" Standoff opened the door and shouted; "Oh, no you don't! Today's my off day!" Is he gone? Yeah, he's gone. Those types never stay to talk." Sighing, Standoff picked up the letter, went to his back room where he kept the important things, and slit it open with a letter opener made from a fang.

The moment the fang had touched the letter it sprang open. Magic was obviously at work here, but it's effect couldn't be sensed immediately. One thing was sure though, the envelope was empty now... somehow. You managed to catch a glimpse at what shot outside. It seemed to be a living thing, it looked like it had two eyes and a furry coat. It was really small as well. How it got so thin to fit in there might stay a mystery forever. Either way, after a few moments you hear something rustling behind a few books on a shelf. Wings could also be heard.

Day heard a friendly chuckle from the other side of the phone which he immediately recognised could only mean trouble.

"Having enough time to answer the phone? Eh?", he chuckled again,

“Hello Grey, what is it that you want?” he said frowning. He disliked when he had to deal with the Justice Force because he was strongly opposed to their methods and the fact that they seemed to make more trouble than they were trying to fix sometimes.

"I wanted to inform you", his voice had suddenly changed to be much more serious, "that Sir Drake, my superior, wants to see you. He's expecting you in two hours at the Head Quarters. Be on time."

He was about to respond when when he heard a “click’ and then static which meant that Grey had hung up the phone. “That pony...” he muttered said as he moved the phone away from his ear to look at it before putting it back in it’s receiver while still frowning. He looked down at the papers on his desk. “These will have to wait. I have something much more important to do now.” He thought as he got up out of his chair and dressed into his shirt, coat put his notepad and pencil on one of the pockets. It wasn't until he had one hoof on the door did he realize that he didn't know where the J.F. headquarters were.

He knew they were somewhere in the inner city but that was about it. As he walked out of his office in into the street it then occurred to him that that wasn't his only problem. He had no way to get into the Inner City in the first place. He would have to deal with this first.

As his apartment was close to to one of the checkpoints it didn't take him long to walk there. He watched as a number of ponies walked back and forth through the checkpoint and wondered how on earth he was supposed to gain entry. “May as well start with the diplomatic approach I suppose...” He sighed, then walked over to one of the guards at the checkpoint.

“Excuse me!” He said loudly to make sure he got the guard pony’s attention. “My name is Daylight and I... umm... need to get into the inner city but I don’t have a pass. I have a urgent meeting with Sir Drake that I must get to.”

The guard didn't move, not even an inch. It seemed like if he was part of the decor. Suddenly a soft spoken voice could be heard behind Daylight, "What business do you have with Sir Drake?". If Daylight turns around he would see that the voice belonged to a young Unicorn mare. She had a silvery coat, white hair and blue eyes. "I'm sorry for over hearing your question, but it seemed you addressed the wrong person and my duty is to help around here.", if he inspected her closer he would see that she had a small badge with a capital I on it. Her name was also written on it, 'Angelica Brown, Informations'. She had a soft, yet probably fake smile.

"Awwwww, no. What was the point of that? Where did it go?" Standoff jogged out of the room, trying to find the little hairy bugger before it reproduced at an exponential rate or whatever it was supposed to do when it got to his house. Thinking quickly, he found a tin of cat food left over from sitting for one of his buddies, opened it, set it in the middle of the floor, and waited behind the couch. Why do I always get saddled with the stupid stuff?

Whatever the creature was, it didn't seem to care for catfood or it hasn't seen it yet. Soon everyone in the room could hear the notable sound of ripping and crunching of paper. It seems like the small creature started to much on one of the books! And it did so with great appetite  What ever was written on the first few pages is now gone forever. It also wasn't hiding anymore, as it sat in plain view. It seemed to be a sort of a thick worm with wings. It had no legs but two small arms with three fingers on each. It also had two antenna. To finish it all off it's color scheme was rather dreamy with blue and violet colors being the primary ones. It also had a small tinge of red on it's belly.

  • 3 weeks later...

Daylight watched the guard as he seemed completely unfazed as if he had not heard him. “Well... I never... so much for being helpful...” Day muttered under his breath feeling rather frustrated now. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do if he couldn't even get into the Inner City.

"What business do you have with Sir Drake?"

Day then heard a soft voice speak up behind him and turned around to see a young female Unicorn smiling at him, though that was the only sign of any friendliness.

"I'm sorry for over hearing your question, but it seemed you addressed the wrong person and my duty is to help around here.",

Daylight said nothing at first and raised an eyebrow curious to exactly where this young mare could've come from. He was sure he would have noticed somepony with a coat as hers due to it being silver and her mane being white.
Now looking closely over the mare he noticed she was wearing a small badge with her name and a capital “I” on it.

'Angelica Brown, Informations'

So that’s what the ‘I’ stands for... strange though... the name seems familiar to me for some reason but I’m not sure why...” He pondered. Realizing that he had still not answered the mare. He cleared his throat and put a friendly smile on his face, but also made sure to speak in a friendly tone as well. He wanted to show that he was acting genuine.
“Excuse me for not answering your question first but I need to know the information you are going to provide to me is in fact valid and from a reputable source. Your name is Angelica Brown correct? And you work for Information's? May I ask what that is and more specifically, what your role is in it all?” He said waiting for her to respond before continuing.

“As for your question, my business is my own, but as I don’t know myself what that is I see no harm in telling you. I got a call not long ago from... Grey, one of Sir Drake’s associates informing me of a meeting that I had with his superior in two hours at the J.F Headquarters. Any assistance you could provide would be most helpful.” He finished still smiling, trying to stay as friendly as he could while also showing that he meant business. He had hesitated at mentioning Grey’s name because it meant that he had now associated himself with him, which is something he didn't like to do, but he hoped that would help to prove the validity of his own claim.

The mare nodded, although she seemed slightly annoyed by his ways. Ponies normally trust her, after all it was her job. "Of course. Indeed my name is Angelica Brown. I am part of Informations. A corporation that makes sure everyone is informed of what they need. We are employed by the habitants of the Inner Circle to guide and assist those who have business with them." She was smiling throughout her small speech and also adjusted her Badge so that it would be right. "If it is correct that you are invited by M. Grey then please proceed to the entrance to the left. The Guards there will check your identity and give you a pass that you are not allowed to lose." She insisted those last words. "Once inside you may ask my colleagues for assistance". She smiled again and bowed slightly with her head, the entrance is over here. She pointed towards a small house next to the gates. The gates were of magical nature as some ponies passed straight trough. And by squinting slightly you could see shapes of houses, but the continual ripples make it hard to make out anything definite.

As Arcanel felt Goal Shot's tail lightly nuzzle his nose, he felt a blush coming up his face, feeling slightly embarrased by the action. However, as the mare continued to look around his home, he started gathering his thoughts. *Wait a minute... Goal Shot looked rather different last time I saw her. Or... is it because I'm sleepy and I can't tell... ugh... I hate morning daze. Anyway, let's just go along. I might as well be thinking too much. Again...* He pondered before deciding his mind could be playing tricks with his mind.

"Okay, well I came here to pick you up.", she would slowly walk back to him, "And if we win, you're in for a treat", she giggled softly and would open the door, letting Arcanel walk out first.

The moment she opened the door, Arcanel felt in a small haze. *A... wha?... Um... Okay... what does she mean by that?...  Er... nevermind. Let's just go with her. As far as I know, this is more innocent than I'm probably thinking it is. If I'm even thinking so. Or... GAH! LET'S JUST GO!* he mentally screamed to himself before quickly trotting and saying a small "Thank you" for the little action of holding the door for him, instead of the other way around.

No windows though, but several Candles were lit up around him. No sound could be heard coming from the outside. The door was infront of him.

Daylight listened carefully to Angelica before responding. “Ahh, now I remember who Informations are. How silly of me to forget.” he thought. He was sure that she would have been annoyed in some way of his initial reaction to her.

“Please excuse my rudeness.” He said, a lot more friendly this time while smiling and bowing his head slightly. “As a detective I am very suspicious of everything I have not heard of your organization just so happened to be one of those things that just happened to have slipped mind.” He finished while still smiling and tilting his head to one side while closing his eyes.

“I thank you very much for the assistance and will be sure to speak with any of your colleagues if I need help again. Goodbye and have a nice day.” He said, then giving her a nod, then headed in the direction that she had indicated towards the entrance.

As he neared the barrier, he started to feel very excited. He had not been into the inner city before as all his dealings with J.F so far had been here in the Inner City and although it probably wasn't the most pleasant reason to travel there, any reason was good enough for him. Day walked right up to the guardhouse which was situated next to the gates. He could practically feel the magical energy coming from the barrier as it was so powerful. He stood in front of the window and spoke to the pony sitting behind it.

“Umm... excuse me. My name is Daylight and I require passage into the inner city as I have been referred by a M. Grey...” He paused for a moment as he realised something. Grey had never told him what his first name was, and he had always assumed Grey had been his first name.

It appears that informations does know a thing or two that could be very useful later on...” He thought. He then realised that he had still not said anything and snapped out of it.

“Ahh, sorry about that. Just got lost on a thought there.” he said apologetically hoping the pony would not be annoyed with him.

“As i was saying... I have been referred by Grey, an associate of Sir Drake that I had an urgent meeting with his superior in the J.F Headquarters that I must attend In less than two hours.” He finished rather seriously. He didn't want to waste any more time as he hoped there would be a bit of time left to explore the inner City while he was looking for the headquarters.

The pony who had listened to him nodded before checking something on a board that was out of view for Daylight. It came back with something like a Badge in his hooves. He placed it on a tray which he pushed trough an opening that allowed Day to get it. On it were placed the aforementioned Badge and a small map on which was represented a small part of the Inner City.

"Welcome to the Inner City. There are a number of rules that have to be respected so that your stay here is as pleasant as possible.", he paused so that Daylight could take that all in, probably out of procedure, "You are not allowed to roam the city. I will give you a map which will represent the route you have to take so as to arrive at your destination. You will have to show it with your badge should a Guard ask you to present it. These rules are here to allow a calm and efficient environment for both the inhabitants and the workers that travel inside. We hope you do not feel too inconvenienced and wish you a good day. If you have any further questions please go to the right once inside. Somepony will allow help you there.", with that he waited for day to move forward. Behind him were already two other ponies waiting to get inside.

Right before him was a small part of the protective wall, infront of it was an Unicorn  Guard, waiting for Day to arrive and ask him for his Badge and map for further instructions.

Daylight waited patiently as the pony behind the window nodded, then vanished from view as he went to check something most likely. He shortly returned carrying a badge and a folded piece of paper and placed it on a tray which he slid through a slot in the window. “This must be my pass into the Inner City..” he thought looking at it without picking it up just yet.

He listened carefully to the pony and nodded as he gave what he assumed to be the standard introductory speech he most likely gave to everypony that came to his windows. He was surprised that the pony did not seem bored of his job, which either meant he was relatively new, or just really liked what he did. “Probably the first one.” He reckoned to himself.

Day took careful note of how he was not allowed to roam the city, and that the map will lead him directly to his destination. He was impressed at the level of organization that was in pace and was still not deterred from exploring somewhat as he could still have a good look at everything while he took his set path. He completely understood what he said how, it was to be kept as in-order as possible not to affect the other residents of the city.

When the pony had finished talking, Daylight picked up the badge and map and said. “Thank you for everything. Good day.” And with a nod, took a few steps towards the guard at the barrier so he could let the ponies that he had noticed that were queuing up behind him. Taking a closer look at the badge, he saw that it had his name on it, and was a bright golden colour, somewhat similar to his own coat. feeling rather special, Day decided to show his badge off so he pinned it to his shirt while still carrying the map before walking up to the Unicorn Guard at the barrier.

“Hello, my name is Daylight and I require access into the Inner City.” he said puffing out his chest slightly to indicate the badge. “Here is my map,” he said offering it to the guard. As he did so, he realised he had not yet taken a look at it himself, something he must do when he got it back.

The guard nodded, "Welcome Sir. You will get this right back." His horn then started to glow and soon afterwards also Daylights badge. The badge vibrated slightly before giving off a slow moving piece of what cod be called light that travelled towards the map. "Very well. Everything seems to be in order. Due to City Law you are not allowed to deviate from your path, so follow it closely." The guard gave him the map back and stepped aside, and with another small glow of his horn the small area of the dome next to him seemed to thin out, enough that one could look trough. The streets were somewhat busy on the other side.

Once Daylight stepped trough the entry the small patch solidified again rendering it almost opaque again. He was now in the Inner City. Should he get off the path indicated on the map the badge would start vibrating proportionally to the distance from the path.

The map told him to take a small number of alleys, it didn't seem to be a long walk. To his right was a small building with "Informations" written on it. One could see that the whole city is very well mantained, the houses where all properly coloured, no stains, no dirt. You could see a pony walking trough the street sweeping.

As he stepped outside the house, he heard a voice.

"Sorry hun"

"Huh?" he said, confused, but before he could turn around, he felt a hard hit to the head, and fainted.

When he regained his consciousness, he spoke in a drowsy manner. "Augh... what in the world happened...?" he asked to no one, confusion filling his mind. As the haze in his eyes started clearing up, he looked at his surroundings. "Closed room... no windows... candles... there's no one else here... where am I?" he asked to no one yet again, hoping to get a memory of a similar place, only to fail in coming up with it. Then he remembered Goal Shot. "Or whoever was posing as Goal Shot... Note to self: Clear haze in the morning before attending door.... er... second note to self: Get a better memory. And probably just a third in case of emergency: Trust your instincts more times." He said, as if he had a notepad in his mind. "Next time, I'll just stay in bed." He decided while groaning, noting it once more, before going back to the room he was in.

"Well.. I was brought here for a reason... and... I can't even figure out why... maybe because I was about to have the pass? But... many others do already... or... was it someone in jealousy that I was getting the pass? On hindsight however... I didn't even TRULY know yet, I considered more a rumor than anything else...(sigh)." He finished saying, feeling dejected at being unable to find the reason of why would somepony do this. "Well... the door's there... and there's no guards, and I'm not even tied.... but... I should better wait. Who knows if it could be a trap waiting for me outside? Better know what in Equestria is going on first." Arcanel decided once more, now with his senses on alert position before going to sit at one of the corners in the room, close to some of the candles.
