private Life in Canterlot (SOL RP)

It was a bright, Sunny day in the City of Canterlot. everypony was always busy doing something. Hunter Incendiare awoke from a slumber and yawned before doing the best she could to climb out of bed, things were much harder with a pregnant belly. she put on her glasses and opened her window to see the great view of the city from her house. she walked over to her dreser and hugged a photo of a colt, her late fiance. he was in the Royal Guard, but one mission went wrong, leading to his passing. Hunter left her house and trotted to a park and sat on a bench in front of a pond

Splinter woke up to a loud and obnoxious beeping noise. ''Eh, five more minutes!'' Splinter yelled after slamming his hoof on the alarm clock the noise had been coming from. He rolled off his bed and onto the floor with a loud thump. ''Urg..'' Splinter groaned while getting up and walking to the door of his house. After pushing through all of the invitations from various parties, adventures, and camping trips that piled up at his doorstep, Splinter eventually reached a coffee shop and sat down. ''Better get a cup of coffee and a muffin.'' Splinter said while checking his saddlebag for bits. ''I have enough.'' Splinter said while pulling out his pouch of bits and a book.

Flare screeched to a halt, her wings folding neatly by her sides once more. An early morning zoom was always good, especially on a day as grand as this one. The gentle wind breezing through her orange mane, the tender warmth of the sun brushing her coat smoothly... it was a good life. How she had ended up in Canterlot... honestly, she wasn't very sure; she simply thought a change of scenery would be good for her and flew until she arrived some place new. Taking residence was easy, since she didn't live in a house, but the clouds above the city: any Pegasus' advantage.

 

"Hmm... I'm really stuck for stuff to do today. This place is so grand... and big... and boring." the mare pouted, wandering aimlessly around the streets in search of something to do. There had to be something...anything.

Splinter had felt wide and awake after his coffee and muffin. ''Well, another day! Another boring, boring day in Canterlot.'' Splinter said while his smile diminished. ''Well, I guess I better keep reading my book.'' Splinter said while trotting into the busy streets not looking where he was going until he knocked into a mare and fell on his face. Luckily, his open book cushioned his fall. ''Oh my Celestia!'' Splinter exclaimed while helping the pegasus up. ''Are you okay?'' Splinter asked with a concern in his voice. 

((OOC : In case anypony was wondering, the pegasus was Flare. >->))

Jolt huffed and puffed as he landed in Canterlot. "Phew, haven't done a flight like that in a while but hey, I got here quicker," he said, his saddlebags giving a small "doof" sound as he landed on the streets. "Right then, let's find something to do. It's my trip to Canterlot and I'm making the most of it."

 

Jolt wandered for several minutes until he saw an orange maned mare in the distance. He trotted over to her with confidence and asked "Young lady, whatever has happened to put a frown on a picturesque face like yours?"

 

At that moment, another pony looking at a book came along and bumped the back of the orange maned pony.

(OOC - sorry about such a late addition... was showering. ^^;...)

 

Flare picked herself up and flexed her wings, checking for any injuries; there was nothing but the slick open and close of the feathery appendages, and she felt safe to assume she was completely fine, save for a scratch.

 

"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied loftily, a carefree grin on her face. She took a moment to take in who had crashed into her, and saw a stallion with an open book. "You may not wanna take your fall out on the book next time though." she joked meekly, pointing to the slightly creased cover. She then extended a hoof towards him. "The name's Flare. Flare Blitz. But most people just call me Blitzy for short." she told him, smiling widely. 

 

She then turned to the other pony who had apparently been talking to her. "I'm sorry? What did you say?" she chuckled, stretching her other hoof out towards him.

''Name's Sp- Oh, who's that?'' Splinter asked while shaking Blitz's hoof and noticing the other colt approaching her. ''Hello!'' Splinter said as the colt approached Splinter and Blitz. ''Name's Splinter! Splinter Wood.'' Splinter said while while shaking his hoof. ''I have to get better social skills''

Flare simply blinked at the pony, amused. He seemed so open and friendly, yet so awkward too. She nudged him good-naturedly. "Splinter? Nice name." - she was grinning again, trying to get a good glance at his book.

 

"What'cha readin', Splint?" she asked. The other colt had her slight interest, but it didn't appear his attention was on her any more, and so turned most of hers to Splinter himself.

''Nothing special. Just a Dashie Potter book I picked up at the library a couple of days ago.'' Splinter said while handing her the book. The cover read 'Dashie Potter And The Goblet Of Fire'. ''I'm half way through it already. It's a pretty good book in my opinion. It's so unique and fun to read..'' Splinter said.

((OOC : I actually am reading The Goblet Of Fire right now. :3))

"I see," she muttered, her eyes scanning the bright intricate book-cover with interest, before handing it back to Splinter. "I haven't read this one... I've read a lot of books in general, though." she rambled slightly, before recalling she was between two other ponies and regained her composure, clearing her throat swiftly. 

 

"Anyways... you know where the library is? I haven't been able to find it yet. You should definitely tell me where it is. Or even take me!" she enforced, poking his book playfully.

 

(OOC: Awesome. Much like my OC in this RP, I actually HAVEN'T read that book either. xD)

Hunter trotted out of the park to the nearest coffee shop, she wanted something sweet for the foal. when she entered the cafe, she noticed a few ponies she never seen before and went to the counter and ordered a choc chip muffin, she sat down, trying to avoid squashing her belly too much

''Sure! I might be able to rent you a couple books if you want while we're there.'' Splinter said while grinning. ''It's just over here.. Found it!'' Splinter said while his grin grew wider and leading her into the library.

Flare glanced at the huge building, her eyes scanning the tall structure in wonder. How had she never noticed such an obvious building? How was she so dumb?? Remembering what the male had said, she perked up. You would rent me books? That's awesome! You're awesome!" she exclaimed suddenly, jumping on the spot slightly from excitement. That book smell... it was the best smell, and it always made her gut fill up with happiness.

 

"...Pfft..." she murmured, remembering libraries had to be quiet. "Where the heck should I start?!"

''Well, lemme there are all kinds of places you can start!'' Splinter said while looking around the library. ''Well, there's the adventure section. It always has the Daring Do books you can rent! And there's the drama section! Where there's.. Well, I've never gone over there. But feel free to get anything!'' Splinter said. ''Man, I'm a really nice guy.''

Flare's back shot straight up. "Did you say... Daring Do?" - without waiting for an answer, she rubbed her hooves together and let out a small squeak of approval. "Yes, yes, yes!" she quietly urged. "I've been looking for them everywhere! They were never in Cloudsdale... you're a good guy, Splint."

 

Happily hopping towards the Adventure Section, her eyes scouring for the infamous books, Flare felt something she hadn't really felt upon entering Canterlot: truly excited.

''Exactly.'' Splinter said while smiling at her excitement. ''Well, you've done it again. You've made somepony really, really happy again. I feel like this happens everyday. Maybe I should start donating, too.'' Splinter said while thinking for a moment. ''I probably will start to donate.''

For the meantime, Flare had disappeared from Splinter's scope of vision; she had been searching through the "D" shelves urged to see the bright title on the spine of the book. She knew they were here... Splint had said so. Soon enough, she found exactly what she was looking for and rushed back to her friend.

 

Friend.

 

Could she call him a friend yet? Or was it too soon? Nevertheless, he had been nothing but nice... so why not? Not like he had to know anyway. She could just call him one in her head till any further notice.

 

"Oooh, this one, and this one, oh, and don't forget this one!" she told him, her wings flapping quickly in anticipation. "Thanks so much!"

 

(OOC: I got school in the morning, so I'm gonna get off now. Goodnight, Everyone! :3)

''No problem!'' Splinter said while the books she had wanted increased. ''Man, what is it with me today? I'm not saying I'm acting in a bad way, but I've never been this nice! What could this mean? I'll probably find out later if I'm lucky.'' Splinter thought.

"are you alright? you look lost"

she wanted to be kind to this stranger

"I'm Hunter by the way, what do ponies call you?"

she smiled, she wasnt very social but some reason she was feeling chatty

Draco was not havuing a good day. First he had actually threw his alarm clock out of his open window again. Yeah it did hit a gaurds pony. Then, he found out his supply of coffee was gone. So here he was flying through the air late making a simple delivery. He moved to Canterlot to get away from the crazy town of Ponyville. Draco sighed as he landed infront of the cafe roughly "Oh man that sucks," Draco said as he waved his front right hoof slightly. He walked in slowly as he ordered a muffins and a cup of coffee.

"Well that was rude. Going off with a stranger, asking a question and not waiting for a reply." Jolt pondered to himself for a moment but was caught by someone's voice. "I'm sorry miss, were you talking to me? If so, they call me Jolt. I'm alright though, thanks for asking." Jolt gave a smile to Hunter and said "I'm not lost, just left behind. It's my first time here in Canterlot so I'm sort of lost."

Hunter led Jolt through to all the hotspots of the city, taking regular breaks to avoid contractions

"and thats the last of anything interesting in the city, phew, who would have thought carrying a baby would wear you out"

she sat down and tried to catch her breath
