I wish my computer would cooperate more DX Tried to submit this earlier, but my laptop decided to be an idiot. Again. Ohwell. Here it is now.



It's been nintey years since Twilight was turned into an alicorn. She attended the funeral of Pinkie Pie earlier in the day, and is now coming back home to Canterlot after overseeing the sinkhole at Sweet Apple Acres that had swallowed the Apple Family home and part of the orchard.

It's been a long day.

Yesh, I did draw them myself ^.^ Took me an hour this morning, actually...

 

I've always liked the fact that there is no fannon adult Spike, gives a lot of freedom... plus I can draw dragons, so that adds bonus points.

Thanks! Before I started drawing ponies and other animals, I used to draw dragons only, so it's given me a lot of anatomy knowledge ^.^

 

Not too sure what spurred the sinkhole idea to tell the truth. I was thinking of all the bad things that could happen (because I'm a sadistic little child, obviously xD) and the sinkhole idea was like "OH OH, PICK ME."

 

I can imagine it did suck to see the home swallowed though poor Twilight, I just can't stop picking on her XD

I had never been much to gather a story from art.  No, I could take something from a song, I could gather information through the metaphors of a poem, but I never thought art had any true underlying story connotations.

 

This picture changed that.

 

Not only is your drawing of an above average caliber, but the story that it entails is probably the most deep and yet simple prospect of the whole thing.  When looking at the picture after having understood the story behind it, the colors and tones seem to shoot out even more than one would have ever thought feasible.  The obvious colors, such as the bright green or the shining gold, are no longer highlighted in the picture, and are instead replaced with the darkness of the castle stones, or the depression of the purple sadness that engulfs the sky.

 

In English: Dang, that's good.

Well. I'm glad that you could see the story!

 

Truth be told, I never actually thought of the color scheme once while doing this picture. I seem to have a knack at making colors and patterns work.
