ooc The Houses of Monarch

Once, ages ago, the cosmopolitan city of Monarch ruled over all of Equestria. The King was ,more often than not, a kind colt.

However, the King was always from a different house. The Houses always bickered over who should be king, as they each had a variety of different ways of ruling.

Then one day, the King had been murdered in his sleep. All the Houses blamed each other, and fighting broke out. Monarch was almost destroyed, and the Houses all left the city, each in different directions, leaving the unaligned citizens to fend for themselves. Left in poverty and ruin, with no guards or police, the city became anarchic. The Chaos gave the city it's infamous name of Anarch.

Today, the Houses have formed into kingdoms, and have generally left each other alone. Tensions begin to rise, however, and most predict total war in the future. What the future may hold, however, no one knows.

Howdy, this is an RP which I have been planning for a while. So first, allow me to set a few ground rules.

1. Keep to site rules, obviously.

2. Cursing is allowed, but please limit yourself, and change certain words to their pony-variants.

3. Romance is allowed, preferably within your faction/allied factions. I will allow Cross-faction romance, but please, limit yourself, this isn't a Romeo and Juliet RP.

4.If you're going to play as a Maverick/Anarchian, please expect to be treated like crap. Most Houses aren't tolerant of Mavericks, and they are generally shunned and denied basic rights.

5.Alicorns are allowed, but again, limits are the key.

So, next and arguably the most important part, the Houses, which you are allowed and encouraged to align with.

House Tinkerworks

This house is particularly dedicated to technology and advancement. Their homes are made of stone and metal, and their weapons and armor are quite advanced. However, it is slow-moving, and this is the great advantage their enemies have.They dislike nature and tradition in any form, as they view them as an enemy of progress. They possess Great War machines, which are usually made for defense or siege warfare. They do rely on technology too much, and would go bonkers without it. They are allies with House Creed, having a great trade with them, and despise House Wellwood, for obvious reasons. Their main city, Gearturn, is located on the border of the great western ocean, and is surrounded by a huge wall to the south, north, and east. They are governed by the mysterious Grandfather Clock, who speaks to almost no one.

House Creed

This fellows love wealth, their House was founded to keep wealth in the city's best interests. Their houses are generally well-built, almost all of them looking exactly alike. Their soldiers are trained poorly, and their weapons and armor mass-produced. They buy war machines from the Tinkerworks, paying them hefty sums for the technology. They enjoy picking on the Wellwoods, as they like to stay in good favor with House Tinkerworks. They live in present-day Manehatten, governed by a board of directors, a group of about 150 old, rich folk who are quick to discriminate. (Like Congress. )

 

House Francible

House Francible is dedicated to culture and the finer things in life. They dress in elegant dresses and stylish suits every day, and enjoy going to art gallery's, gala's, and classical music concerts. They look down upon the other Houses, seeing them as uncultured swine. Their homes are large and well-designed, decorated with murals and statues. Their soldiers would rather stay clean in a battle than win the battle, so their armies are rather weak. Their main city of located in present day Fillydelphia, which at the time was a center of culture and art. Their leader, Princess Florian, cares more about her hair than her people, so the real leaders are the artists.

House Wellwood

Dedicated to nature and it's preservation. They love nature and will kill to protect it. Their homes are made of wood and animal fur, and they live with many animals, carnivores and such. They are bullied by the other clans, constantly called weak and gay. Their soldiers are quick on their feet, and wear light armor, and use archery as their main warfare tactic. They live in Everfree Forest, and are governed by Nana Wassomottayoo, who is a kind old woman who loves all.

House Spark

Dedicated to magic and science. They are skilled mages and thinkers. They worship the Gods of the Sun and the Moon, whom they believe are going to come to Equestria to save it from a great crisis. Their homes are observatorys and mueseums, and their soldiers use magic and enchanted weaponry to do their deeds. They are in a shifty relationship with House Tinkerworks, as TW often mocks them for worshipping gods. They live in modern-day Baltimare, and are governed by Arch-Mage Dusk, who is dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and magical feats. Legend has it she is descended from the apprentice of Starswirl the Bearded.

Mavericks

Unaligned ponies, griffons, or dragons. They can be a wide variety of things, from cooks to assassins, scientists to barkeeps. They are generally disliked by the Houses, and are denied basic rights and treated like garbage.

If I'm accepted, I will be joining as a Maverick seeing as my character would actually look down on the houses.

Ah yes, I had entirely forgotten about that.

Well, basically, House Spark discovers an ancient prophecy in a tomb, which foretells of a great chaos, or Discord, in the near future, and that the Godesses would take the form of ponies,and that Monarch would be the key to getting them. Everyone found out, and they all came to the conclusion that whoever held Monarch at the time would gain full control over Equestria. So, it's basically fighting a silent, undeclared war, mainly with words and spies, but everyone knows war will come soon.

Thresh saw him, but has not taken any action.
