visual art Crumpled up paper and Mountains

The first drawing is my attempt at realism.  I failed at drawing something so I tore it out and crumpled up the paper.  Remembering a video about realism, I drew the paper.  

This one is just mountains.  Also the first landscape drawing I've attempted.  I worked 4 hours on getting the shading right, and I still don't think it's that great.

My advice for the paper drawing is that it doesn't look like it is tattered enough. Adding a few tear ruffles in the paper near the edges may help, it looks more cut with scissors. just something to keep in mind.

 

As for the mountains, they are nice, but the one on the left could have a slightly more natural top. Nature does have subtle/rounded things, but every mountain is like that, just different sizes. So perhaps making it a more rough/coarse peaked mountain may add more flavor to your drawing.

 

They are great starting points, keep up the good work! ~Desu ^.~

I agree with Hayze on the fact that the paper is a bit too clean to be torn or crumpled. Needs a bit more texture, which can be easily done by twitching a bit while you draw the line.

 

As for the mountains however, I personally love the way they are drawn. I feel as though the left mountain is more of the central power of the image. It just seems like a rock one would sit upon for meditation or for looking down upon people. Well done~
