I'm a bit torn at the revelation that they'll try and make it more difficult. I mean, I appreciate the challenge, but after a few rounds of Dark Souls, I'm not 100% on how they'd make it more difficult without breaking the game in some way. You know?

 

Play Demon's Souls to find out how they can make it harder and by the looks of it, that is their intent. 

 

hahah dark souls II looks awesome i still havent finished dark souls out of fear of breaking my console but this game looks amazing

I think as long as the changes they make aren't too too drastic, I think it should be, or at least hope to be, around the difficulty that Dark Souls is now. If you want difficult, go play Demon's Souls, now THAT was a rage inducing, controller smashing, hell of a game.

 

One thing I haven't heard yet is, when a PC version comes out, will it actually have decent controls or decent controller customization?? That's one thing they messed up so damn badly when they made Dark Souls on the PC version. So much effort had to be made by the community to make the game playable with a controller and make the game high resolution.

As far as we know is they are taking more consideration into it which saddens me a bit not knowing how it will look. Only time will tell. The only thing I am intrigued is how will they be able to make a port to pc with proper controls n stuff? I will be flat out honest that the Souls series is more meant for consoles, a controller, not mouse and keyboard.Grant they can do it in a way like The Witcher or something but the games functionality are two different things.

Haha I know the Souls series is intended for the consoles. I guess I was just hoping that i'd be able to just hook up my controller to my PC and hope that Dark Souls II would immediately know that that's what i'm using and switch the controls to that so I don't have to use this program to set up my controller to my PC. If I played my consoles more, i'd just buy it for my PS3, but since I do everything on my PC and hardly even touch my consoles now, i'd like to have a little more support when it comes to controls on the PC.

Yeah that is my only issue with the Souls series, I have been playing the PC version because it looks and runs better with the mods. I will be buying for both PS3(Collector's edition when announced) and PC because I got friends on both I play with.  Overall though do not expect too much out of the PC port, they are trying their best but with this kind of game it's just hard to make it work properly to where it is on par with a controller. They will probably get the graphics even better and fix the controllers a bit but there is only so much they can do.

True true. I'll buy the PC version depending on when I have the money available to fork over. I wonder if the same guys that made the mods that made the PC port work in the end on standby, waiting to fix whatever is wrong with the port on Dark Souls II.

I would imagine, especially with these kinds of games you can never be too careful when it comes to putting it on there. Never know what may be wrong.

Yeah. Another thing i'm hoping for is that they don't use that "Games for Windows Live" crap like they did with Dark Souls. That was the biggest pain of Dark Souls.

If they did they would have already advertised it. But by the looks of it, it will be utilizing Steam and possibly its VAC secured servers.

Thank god. Maybe that'll make the multiplayer aspect of it even better. Alot of my friends who wanted to play it got completely turned off by the fact that it had the GFWL.

Great info in this article regarding the game and E3! it also appears From Software doesn't even tell the game testers the devilish secrets the game has.

I'll never beat either Demon's or Dark Souls but I'll get this game anyway cuz they are all so very fun to play regardless.

 

Although I do need to go back to Demon's Souls after learning how the game mechanics work when playing Dark Souls. Get me a good shield and I should be good against those fecking Maneaters that were kicking my ass last time I was playing.

I'm most likely gonna get back into the groove of Dark Souls PTDE soon. I took a long break after getting owned to a hacker, i'm finally ready to try to actually get somewhere in the game again. I just need to prepare a good build so I can get that and give me inspiration to keep going.

This is why I don't play online or in human form if I can help it. Once in Demon's Souls I had a guy try to get me to drop my ONE AND ONLY WEAPON in exchange for a Dragon's Sword. A) I already had a Dragon's Sword with my older character and B ) like I'm gonna fall for that. You can get a Broadsword real easily. He's not actually trying to trade. He was probably gonna pick it up and kill me.

Yeah I know that feeling. I've had that happen many times with my character in Demon's Souls. Most people always kept asking me if they could see my Fire Halberd +5 and Tower Shield +5. Usually i'd just ignore them or if they were invading, proceed in killing them with their desired weapon  .

Well, hay there guys. 

I'm having a hard time waiting for this game. I finished Dark Souls just a month or two before this game was announced, and I REALLY enjoyed it.

It was a fair challenge in the beginning, and I'd say that half way through the game it wasn't as pushover as most other games.

I expect a lot from this game.

 

(I heard that you need to dodge certain swings with certain rolls. That's gonna screw me over big time.)

Not enough dedication, mang. For Dark Souls II you must be willing to go above and beyond, to the deepest corners of the underworld and come back a champion!

Yeah I got it and accepted it. The Dark Souls community though is just...different. I've seen some funny screens and gifs on the Dark Souls Steam Community Hub thing.

The internet base of the fanbase is excellent and usually more mature and less hateful towards eachother than most other fanbases...just never mention the words Dark Souls sucks. The in-game fanbase though...I think this video sums up at least a third

I've seen a horrible members online as well. Particularly when anyone mentions anything about a pause button because it would be so hard to put one in and it would change the game so much that it would affect the game at all.

A pause button would be nice when I got to go eat or do business in the bathroom but I understand and love the no pause button, leaves immersion in the game and allows for the multiplayer feel a part of the singleplayer experience. 

 

The community is well natured but there are those moments when certain words are muttered, half of it goes up in flames.

I feel like i'm the only one who is actually glad that there ain't no way to pause the game. It makes it so I can't walk away when I get frustrated without the possibility of severe consequences.
