It's a double-edged sword, it's a great feature, especially with the multiplayer designed to feel like a part of the single-player experience but if you got to go eat, go to the bathroom, or got to go somewhere important....have fun.

So, anyone else curious if Bamco will show more of DS2 off at Gamescon?

Double posting but for legit reason to bump this a bit for HUGE news...

There will be a closed beta starting October!! Information in regards will begin sometime in September

So far PS3 is the only one confirmed but I do imagine PC and 360 will also get one

I will probably end up buying DS2 for both PS3 and PC for cross platform friend reasons(and collector's edition reasons) BUT either way I am pumped, just getting into either(assuming there is a PC beta) would be a dream come true.

I will most likely only get DS2 for PC....that is if my rust bucket can actually play DS2 with some decent framerates. That's the main reason I want into the beta for the PC. I'm pumped either way though.

Do we know what engine it will be on?? I don't even know what engine DS runs on currently. We have to keep in mind that unless you are usin' the "DSFix" for Dark Souls on the PC, the game itself didn't seem to hurt my framerate that much.

On a side not, do you think that they will patch DS when Microsoft terminates that horrid "Games for Windows Live"?? Cause i've heard that once they cancel it, any games usin' "GFWL" will have to get patched so the multiplayer/co-op would still work.

As for the first one, it runs on some engine based off the Havok engine(or is?) As for the new one I am not sure but all we got to go off is tid bits of detail from the devs.

I imagine From will work on a patch for the first Dark Souls after GFWL goes down, look at Demon's Souls, it was scheduled to be terminated but due to fan request, Atlus kept the servers open. Plus as far as I've seen, From Software is pretty passionate on giving the community what they want.

Ahh that makes sense. I wasn't sure myself.

As for the GFWL, i'm seriously hopin' they patch it so the multiplayer will still work. I can't imagine such a game with no workin' co-op or multiplayer.

Ahh well that's good to know. I was kinda hopin' in the back of my mind, that they wouldn't so I could actually reverse hollowing so I could be human and not worry about bein' invaded.

This is funnier than it probably should be.

Have they mentioned yet to what extent the enemies will be remixed each time you play? Will it be possible to run into enemies from entirely different levels or enemies that are too advanced for you to fight at that area or are they just certain enemies contained to certain areas with different spawn points?

Also, my favorite composer of all time, Motoi Sakuraba, did the music for Dark Souls apparently. Wonder if he'll be coming back for Dark Souls II.

I don't know if i'm late on the DS II info train, but I just saw a video on Youtube last night from...EpicNameBro. Some of the stuff he talked about with gettin' a peak at the DS II beta sounded quite promising. It sounds to me like FromSoftware wasn't happy with how easy Dark Souls was.

Nah, you're not late what so ever...unless you count down to the hours. I am excited for the changes, NO LONGER WILL I NEED TO CARRY THE WEIGHT OF THE OTHER PLAYER img-1860283-1-biggrin.png and of course the music is made by Sakurabi, the composer of the first Dark Souls, MY BODY IS EVEN MORE READY

As for the OP...somebody remind me please if I don't get to it after school today? Lots of fun info to put in and remove.

Also, who is buying the collector edition? I for one will pay $120 for the art book and soundtrack along with the game in a metal case. The 12" statue and cloth map is just cookie fodder.

Out of curiosity, did anyone else here get into the wacky timed beta last night. Just curious...

I would have brought it up but Namco all over the place as usual and of course the endless watch yesterday.
