I just gonna be upfront about this. Thank fucking god. I felt like those 2 were starting to dictate the thread (Libby especially) to the point that only serious people could have fun.

I would really prefer to keep everyone happy, but that sometimes isn't possible for whatever reason. What I don't understand is how they decided that their topic of conversation was serious when it was mostly about giant robots, the Emperor, and abstract human philosophy.

 

The thread was the general chat thread. So, yeah, they should have just overlooked posts that did not fit. All of that raging about something as simple as a title change on a thread was… Surprising to me. To me, it really wasn't that big of a deal. Titles can be changed back and forth. The reaction was as though I had actually deleted it. At first, I thought that maybe I did. But then I saw that the threat was right here.

 

Needless to say, I was actually quite confused, because I couldn't believe that folks were honestly upset about a title change. Did I miss something?

From what I've heard, Libby went offline for 3 months before returning just very recently.

Star Weaver was probably in a pissy mood. I've seen him be quite random at times.

 

Libby? I mean, at this point, I should just badmouth him/her all I want, because he/she probably doesn't fucking care. It feels wrong to do so, but, he/she can be such an asshole to people, especially you mods.

Yup. She did. Which is why this place was so empty for so long until Nightfall started popping up more and more. I followed suit. I think Bluetrace did also sometime before Nightfall. And then more people all the way up until I and others became regulars. Then the extra came and it got too hectic.

Well, funny for some. The freshmen at mah school found it hilarious, so I decided to share it here (And that was a very bad idea).

 

Well, you're 19 years old. The freshmen are 14-15. Of course, with their lower maturity, are they gonna find it much funnier.

They (mostly Star Weaver) got tired of all the random spam like popping in with tons of images and leaving right away, trying to make everything flow around you (which one person still does http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png), and changing whatever the topic was a whole bunch before it was even talked about.

 

I do believe I tried to tell them that. Ignoring apparently was impossible.

I guess cause like Star said, you changed the identity of the thread out of nowhere. Kinda of a big blow in a way. :x

Some of mah classmate's reactions to that vid were priceless. 3 girls were laughing their breasts off, a group of boys starting laughing hard, one kid I showed it started to LITERALLY roll on the floor laughing, and one girls was like "Ew!" but found it funny.

Whelp, see, that's a structural problem. It's going to be hard to restrict the topic of a thread that inherently has no topic. If they wanted to talk about a specific thing, then they should have created a thread for that. This is a forum and not a chat room. There is a reason that we deleted that chat from the site. The chat format was not really something that contributed to the overall health of the community. We are seeing that same thing here with these chat threads.

 

I guess cause like Star said, you changed the identity of the thread out of nowhere. Kinda of a big blow in a way. :x

Out of nowhere? I was having a dialogue about the possibility of changing the name and one billion other solutions, but all I could get was screaming about how bad the staff sucks. I made a decision that was remarkably inconsequential (could have been reversed at any time without any problems) and the result of that was mountains and mountains of screaming angst. Frankly, I was rather disappointed. It isn't hard to type a civil response when you disagree with a decision.

 

 

Frankly, this has been rather distracting me from my RP post, which is already well overdue.

 

For everyone that doubts the amount of time that it takes to moderate and thinks that this is easy… I would like to draw attention to the fact that this particular bit of moderation required about two hours of my time. Please keep in mind that we are volunteers. Heaping scorn and abuse upon us instead of offering intelligent feedback does nothing to help anyone. It simply wastes our time. Frankly, dealing with controversy in this thread has been an enormous time sink. If further blowups occur, then it may be time for some cost-benefit analysis.
