gaming Game Software Suggestion?

I like to make horror games, but I'm kind of tired of making simple platformer games. I'd kind of like to make a first-person game (like Amnesia). However, I'm having a hard time finding good software for that--mostly because you have to pay for the good stuff. -_-

 

Does anyone know of something I could use?

Well you could always try UDK (Unreal Development Kit) if you haven't already. It's 100% free to use, but if you want to sell what you make you have to purchase a license. Here's a link: http://www.unrealengine.com/udk/

Another suggestion would be Cryengine 3 SDK witch is also free to use.

It's a pretty good engine and it has a good community with lot's of Tutorials on YouTube as well.

Unity is a very popular option when it comes to indie games, though I can't personally attest to it being easy to use.
