Hi! I am a new pony!

Hi everyone. I am new here. I started watching MLP last month or so. I used to watch it and collect the toys when I was a kid. I wanted to check out the new show because I have heard it was good and it has been getting popular. I also heard about Doctor Hooves so I was curious.  I have seen him a couple times so far. I am on season 2 episode 8. 

 

I think the pony I am most like is Twilight Sparkle. I love to read and learn new things. I am currently studying Spanish and I like young adult books the most. I also love animals and have 3 cats. I also love cows and owls and have a small collection of each in the kitchen and bedroom. I am vegan (a type of vegetarian) and love to cook and bake (a little bit of most of the "mane" ponies!) I am 28 years old and engaged to a wonderful hardworking man who loves me very much. He is not a Brony however so I watch when he is at work or with headphones. At least he is understanding! My favorite color is purple but I also love teal, seafoam and pink. Some of other hobbies are art and crafts. I like to draw and knit the most. I studied fine arts and graphic design in college. I want to try to draw some pony versions of myself! I actually got interested in drawing as a child from drawing cartoon characters!

 

My name is Jen irl but my pony name is Jupiter Skylight (name generator online). I have no clue what my cutie mark would be! If anyone has any questions or wants to know more about me just ask!

Hi, Jupiter! Welcome to the forums! Welcome to the fandom too, since you're apparently still new to the "herd." I hope you've been enjoying yourself so far. Maybe one day you'll be able to get your husband to try the show and join up too. He sounds like a nice guy.

 

Twilight is also my favorite/most kindred pony. Paper books and magazines may be going out of style thanks to eBooks and internet publications, but I still prefer them over their digital counterparts and reading is a hobby I've enjoyed for years. While I'm not a vegan, we seem to share a love of baking too. Nothing wrong with a man enjoying that.

This is something I used to do all the time. IRL circumstances decreased my overall activity, including in here. Now that things have more or less normalized, I'm trying to return to my old ways.

@Artemis, Thank you for welcoming me personally! I feel like a very special somepony. Actually my hunny and I are not married yet. Hopefully next year. Once I have seen all of the episodes I will try to pick one and convince him to watch it with me (I am on season 3 already!). I think he might like Rainbow Dash or Discord if he gave it a chance. He isn't mean about me liking it but he teases a little. 

 

I honestly see a little of all of the mane 6 in myself at times. Pinkie Pie and her baking and hyperness (when I have a lot of sugar). Rarity's love of fashion and pampering herself, Fluttershy's love of animals and kindness... and her social anxiety. Applejack's sense of humor and love of her family. Rainbow Dash has her impatient, angry streak and Twilight is my most similar with her books and making lists.

 

I actually have ereaders and listen to audiobooks as well. I like them because it frees up my hands for knitting and they travel well. 

 

A good tip for if you are baking for someone with allergies or want to make something without eggs or less oil, you can use applesauce to replace some of the oil (works great in brownies) and bananas to replace eggs. 

 

I plan to draw some ponies and post pictures. I am out of practice... and it is not the style I am used to drawing but I will try!
