We need more origin stories*SPOILER WARNING*

The mane 6 had their origin stories in "cutie mark chronicles". i think we need more origin stories which will make the series last a long time. Here are characters that need origin stories 

 

Lightning Dust

Star Swirl the Bearded

Spitfire

Chrysalis

Discord 

Celestia(not the tale we were told in the first episode, Celestia as a filly)

Nightmare Moon(in the comics has an origin, but might not be canon)

 

Nightmare Moon was created by these mysterious cloud entities, without giving too much away. The clouds take an interest in Rarity to become their new queen. So Nightmare Rarity is born

I could probably take Chrysalis. She seems like a fairly easy one to do. On the other hand, Discord might be the most challenging, for his species combines many different animals in one

It would be nice to learn how Celestia grew up, who her friends were (if any). Or about her parents, how she came to be, stuff like that. I always imagined Celestia as a god, but she got defeated in 'A Canterlot Wedding.'

I think alot of people want some backstory on starswirl and I think that celestia and Luna would be cool to learn about, not to mention cadence. I might be interested in the Discord origins and backstory and maybe chrysalis to.

 

Itd be cool to hear about shining armor growing up. The others would be cool, but those would be my first priorities. The others I'm not as much desperate to know about or anything.

Lightning Dust: Not much to talk about here. Like Dash, she's always dreamed of becoming a Wonderbolt since seeing them at a young age. Unfortunately, unlike Dash, how had friends and several adventures to guide her morals and shape her into something better, Lighting never dropped her selfish attitude.

 

Starswirl the Bearded: Inspired to become a sorcerer by a great personal loss (and maybe after seeing Celestia and Luna kick Discord's ass as a child, if his time was after that whole ordeal). He became the greatest unicorn magic wielder of his age, but was always in pursuit of magic that could somehow alter fate, like time travel, transfiguration, or even the forbidden art of altering cutie marks. It all goes back to the tragedy from earlier in life. It was the bitterness of feeling like he failed (unbeknownst to him, he would become highly regarded centuries later), and his dedication to discovering new magic, that kept him from making friends, maybe except outside of his pupil, Clover the Clever. Until proven otherwise, I don't believe he was trying to become an all-powerful alicorn, nor do I think Celestia was trying to groom him. The latter fact would cheapen Twilight's ascension, because it makes it look like she was Celestia's plan B, or C, or D...

 

Spitfire: Grandfather/grandmother was a Wonderbolt, so she became one too. More broadly, I'd say the Wonderbolts were a military unit that fell out of service due to there not being any wars to fight. They've since evolved into the Blue Angels-esque/apparent sports team they are today.

 

Chrysalis and the Changelings: Chrysalis was the original Crystal Princess before she was love poisoned by a foolish prince who wanted her heavily sought after hoof in marriage. She was thus too "occupied" to stop Sombra from taking over. It was only after the Empire vanished in the battle between the Royal Sisters and Sombra that the Prince was arrested by the court of Canterlot and Chrysalis was freed from the curse. She went mad with grief and rage after being powerless to save her people and having her love abused. She turned into a heartless monster incapable of feeling love for anything else, and retreated to the borders of the world, where she completely lost her mind and identity. Celestia and Luna have never revealed this because they wanted to protect the memory of their friend, as Celestia did when Luna became Nightmare Moon. As to why she can shape-shift, my theory is that changelings are a sub-species of pony, much like the bat-ponies or whatever kind of unicorn Sombra is. The changelings that follow Chrysalis used to be regular ponies before she devoured their love and souls.

 

Discord: He has no origin story, really: he's the eternal spirit who represents the opposite end of the spectrum from the Royal Sisters. The world is kept in the perfect balance between chaos and harmony. That is, it was, until Discord got bored and decided to take over, throwing the balance out of whack. The Sisters were thus forced to enter the realm as well and fight him. Or maybe they were regular ponies powered up to alicorn status so they could save the world.

 

Sombra: Sombra was a prince from a far off kingdom, where he was next in line to take the thrown. However, the king decided his younger brother would take over the kingdom instead, based on the fact that Sombra kind of seems like an asshole who's willing to use dark magic to get what he wants. Angry that the thrown that was rightfully his was taken from him, he set off to take over a kingdom of his own, eventually settling on the Crystal Empire. Chrysalis was love poisoned, so no one could stop his takeover. Of course, continued dark magic use made him even more loopy, and he thus had the crystal ponies harvest crystal so he could have enough power to declare war on his home country.

 

Nightmare Moon: We already know the story. And yes, the comic is canon.

 

Flim & Flam: Just a couple of con artists who spend too much time practicing musical numbers, and not enough time realizing that they could probably make a decent living with the machines they concoct for their schemes.

 

The Random Ponyville Citizens mentioned: Not a lot to talk about.

 

Cadence: The Crystal Heart Spell chapter book has what you're looking for. I think. I haven't read it yet.

I really like the origin story you gave Chrysalis. I actually think her being a tragic figure is awesome. I imagine Chrysalis as a fallen pony. She fell in love with devouring love. In time this transformed her into an insect like creature. She also converted thousands of ponies into her servants

A origin on Celestia and Luna as fillies and their childhood would really be a good episode that I would definitely watch. Origins and Backstories are really good for characters, it tells us more about them. But, episodes like those would get pretty interesting.
