Nah, I think Night Aegis suits him the best.

 

To be honest, when you combine 2 words together they're either going to come out nice or weird. Take Spark Moon for example. 2 different words, but combined they still sound unique in their way.

Shieldy Gray/Gray Shielder

Grey Aegis

...Nightfall Guardian?

 

I find it easier to pair words with shield than with aegis. Also, relating the name to the coat/mane color is fairly easy (to me).

Still same to my previous post, Navy Shield sounds best to me.

 

I ran out of ideas. Good luck with the naming.

To be honest, I personally like Dusk Shield the best out of those two. I don't think that Dusk Aegis really works as a name.

Your idea is good but I will give you what I think.

What shape is the shield? A circle? Kite-shaped? Diamond-shaped (pentagonal)? I personally like a kite-shaped shield.

Shape doesn't matter to me. The cutie mark, I think, is a shield (color?) laying on a cloud or a pair of clouds.

The colour of the shield is, I think, is night sky blue, or gray, or dark grey.

I don't quite get what you said there, but I guess I get the point.

The shield is laying/resting on the cloud(s). I can't do the illustration, I'm a bad artist.

 

To make it easy to imagine (easy?), think that the shield fell on the cloud(s).

^ If above doesn't make sense, just think that the shield is resting on the cloud(s).

Hmm. I tried to imagine this, looks good, but at first the moon looked like a hole on the shield. If you're going to do the art, make sure the moon won't look like a hole.

...or maybe it's just me. Craters on the moon will make it look like a moon will do.

Man, I guess its just me.

 

I came up with another idea : flying shield shield with wings. But it looks weird and mainstream. I don't like my own idea :/
