Now i am not saying that this is not a good idea, i completely agree in this idea.

 

When you look at the episodes mlp is set in the greek religion.

there are already the criticisms of religion than there are creepy things like a religion based on a show

People worship shrek, so what is the difference? The thoughtforms of Celestia and Luna are very real, mind you, so don't dismiss things so immediately.
