Dr.Whooves & Derpy (Assistant?)

Is Time Turner/Dr. Whooves with Derpy a fan based pony or is it a joke the writers or animators put in themselves as kind of a tribute?

I was watching Hearts & Hooves Day and noticed those two ponies chilling on a bridge.

 

In the beginning of the CMC's singing The Perfect Stallion the scene pans out to a bird's eye view just as Sweetie Belle says

"The perfect Stallion you and I must find, One to really make her heart soar~!!"

Ah yes good catch, that's a little easter egg thrown in by the animators as a tribute to the fan following of Time Turner and Ditzy.

Oh cool, never saw that before xP The writers throw in Derpy in an episode one a while and it's sort of like 'Where's Wally/Waldo' to the bronies trying to find her if she was put in the episode.

I guess it's a coincidence? This is probably like the only time I saw them together. But it could be just another reference the writers threw in.

Good find! It looks like a nice little easter egg for fans to pick up on. I think Dr Whooves and Derpy go perfectly together anyway!

Same thing with that Lyra and Bon Bon scene in Secret of My Excess. It's just the animators throwing in some easter eggs for the fans.

 

They were doing this a lot more in S2 before Derpygate changed how this works.

haha, can't say I noticed that before, nice catch. It very well could be a fan-base thing, though I couldn't be 100% positive. What I want to know is why Bon Bon is deciding to be at two places at once xD
