"The same reason. Cloudesdale was nice and all, but I figured it was time to put down my own roots somewhere. We all have to eventually spread our wings, even if they're metaphorical," Stratos said jokingly.   "It's an opportunity for a new life" Stratos said as he gave Auburn a comforting smile.    "But let's not try making our new lives on an empty stomach, I think I saw a nice little cafe as I was descending. My treat."

Auburn gave a slight chuckle. " Haha yeah I am kinda hungry, but are you sure you want to pay for it i can pay for my half of the lunch honest it's not a problem in the least." Auburn normally wouldn't have minded letting some pay for his lunch. He was a little short on money after just moving in, but when Stratos offered it felt different to just accept the free lunch.

Benjamin exited the grocery store with a lot of bags. The bags had food and drink in them as well as some more incense sticks.

He levitated the bags but had some on his back. After a while he made it to the Apartment complex and to his own apartment. He got inside and put his groceries aways rather quickly. With nothing to do he decided to meditate on the days event.

"I wonder where we could get something at this time..." Dusk thought out loud to himself. "Hey uh...Percussive, was it? Do you know where I could get some stock at this time? Some food or something?" He asked, closing the cupboards and returning to the main room of the apartment. 

 

(I assume it's probably going to be getting late by now, no?)

Chirp nodded. "I'd love to do that...I think Sunny would like it too." He said, glancing over at Sunny before sipping some of his tea. "Sooo...where do you want to go?" He asked, looking back at Mel. "I'm fine with going wherever...as long as I'm with you." He smiled and rested his head back on Mel's shoulder.

"Well, I don't know my way around town yet. Maybe we could just walk around and see what we find. I'm sure even then, it will be a lot of fun, especially with somepony as adorable as you." He leaned back against Sweet Chirp, nuzzling him a little. "I never thought something like this would happen to me."

Chirp blushed. "You're too kind." He mumbled. "I wouldn't mind going out for dinner...although I do have allot of food here. We can do whatever you want." He said, smiling. He gave Mel a quick kiss on the cheek before replying. "I know...I never thought I would be with a stallion before...but I like it. I don't really know what it feel's like to be in a relationship at all...even with a mare, but I don't care, I'm happy to be able to call you my coltfriend." He said, as his blush got slightly worse.

That was one thing about this place that Percussive did not know anything about... Where could he obtain food? He never even got any in HIS apartment, more or less there was anything for Dusk in his...

"Really? No shops, or-or anything? Heck, i'd take a café or something right now, i'm starving" he replied, slightly defeated, but also somewhat surprised. Guess he just expected to be the only one not to know where things where, that's how it normally went. As if on queue, his stomach rumbled a little, and he blushed slightly, covering his stomach with his front right leg. "Oh...well...that's a shame, really. SO I meant to ask..." his tone suddenly perked up "...where were you off anyway? You just happened to be walking by to see me outside, you must have been going somewhere, no?"

Still blushing, Chirp nodded and stood up, he didn't notice earlier, but a couple robins had landed on his head and flew off as he began cleaning off the counter...which was covered in crumbs. "I'd love to go look around the city with you." He said, smiling as he scraped the crumbs into the garbage.

"So, why don't you show me all about your different bird friends. I already met Sunny and Sir Lemons. Why don't you introduce me to some of the others and tell me all about them. They're all so different and interesting," he said in a friendly manner, trying to show interest in Chirp's passion.

Chirp's eyes lit up and he jumped a foot into the air, hovering in one spot, looking absolutely ecstatic. "Really? I..I'd love too." He said, still hovering in one spot.

He realized that he may have gotten a little too excited and he quickly landed. "Um...okay..." He said, blushing. He cleared his throat and looked past Mel at the room full of birds. "Excuse me everyone...if you could all get to your perches that would be helpful...This is Mel." ​He said, gesturing to Mel as all the birds flew around the room to get to their usual perch. "Mel, that's Molly, that's Flipster, that's Song Sky, that's Runner..." He continued to tell Mel the names of all the birds in the room, pointing at each one as he said their name. A few of the birds even flew up to Mel to greet him...none of them really did anything other than fly around his head a few times...

After about two minutes of introductions, he finished speaking and smiled at Mel. "Then there's Sunny and Sir Lemons...but you already know them."

Chirp smiled at Mel, still blushing slightly. "Soooo yea...those are my friends." He said, smiling. "Did you want to go downtown?" He asked, watching Sunny feed from a hibiscus outside the window.

That was when he looked a bit panicked. Percussive was so busy trying to get Dusk back into his apartment, that he had totally forgotten to go find Mel! 

 

"Ah, buck! That's right! I was trying to find my friend a second ago before I saw you... But, I've been in my apartment for a while, so I would have no straight clue. Do you know Mel by any chance?"

Realisation suddenly struck, and Dusk's eyes widened "Oh my...i'm sorry, did we distract you? I'm so sorry, we didn't mean to keep you from your meeting..." He paced back and forth quickly for a second, trying to remember the name "OH! We met him with Ben and...that funny fellow who likes birds, they where in Ben's apartment earlier. They left together, and then the bird fellow fainted and they both came back...then i'm not really sure what happened after that"

Chirp blushed as the birds around them all...um...chirped. A few birds flew out the window to continue their day, but a few stayed inside and rested on their perches.

Its getting late. I should turn in for the day. 

With that, Benjamin put his incense sticks away and cleaned up a little around his apartment. He then made his way towards his bed and plopped down on it.

Sunny had finished with the flower and flew over to Chirp. She landed on his head and went back to playing around with his mane, trying to make a perfect nest.

Mel led Sunny and Chirp down the stairs and out into the city. They walked a few blocks away before Mel smelled something good. He waled in that direction and found a little Italian (couldn't think of a horse pun) place on the corner. There was even outdoor seating. "Wanna eat here, Sweetie?"
