planning Reality TV Game Show Roleplay Anyone?

Ok, I've really wanted to host a roleplay for quite some time. In particular, I want to host a game show roleplay. The idea is for you to not only act as your character, but also play the game. That way, we can add the sense of competition, wit, and suspense that is associated with this type of show/roleplay. I was wondering whether you guys could give me some ideas as to what type of game show would be most suitable and best to act out on a roleplay. If I can some people to propose a game show to roleplay AND tell me how we all can make it viable, I'll set it up! 

 

My first idea was Mafia, and I originally had a sign-up thread for that, but then I realized that the plan was probably too complicated (just the logistics) so I scrapped the idea (for now).

How about Total Drama Island? It works well with ponies, there is a lot of roleplaying involved (Hence the 'drama') And we get to decide who goes off my voting for a member of the losing team.

 

Here's how it's played:

 

We have any even number of contestants.

 

We divide them into two teams with ridiculous names.

 

We force them to enter contests each day.

 

Whichever team loses has to vote off someone on the losing team.

 

Whoever is the last one standing wins.

 

Also, once one team has 3 or less players left, the teams merge.

How about Total Drama Island? It works well with ponies, there is a lot of roleplaying involved (Hence the 'drama') And we get to decide who goes off my voting for a member of the losing team.

Hmm sounds like a good idea! Reminds me of Survivor in a way. Just be forewarned, I'm still new to hosting a roleplay, so I'll probably stink at making the contests. I was thinking of hosting a game show like the Mole though because deception plays a huge role in it.

I could make the roleplay if you want. I am a horrible DM, however I could easily play as Discord or somepony to host it. The host has to act ridiculous, and I can play ridiculous characters well.

You can tell I'm still new to this roleplay business because I don't know what DM stands for. If you could host it, that would be great! Other than Mafia, an Amazing Race roleplay was my original intent because we can have different pairs of teams and even have some shipping involved. We can have Discord host it if you want! Amazing Race is where teams of two race around the world. In this race, there are different legs, each leg covering a region in the world. Each leg has what is called a roadblock and a detour. A roadblock is a task that only one person in the pair must do. One person cannot do more than half of the roadblock tasks. A detour is a challenge where the pair must pick one of the two tasks provided to complete.

 

At the end of each leg there is a pitstop. The team has to finish all tasks AND have all the clue documents (Roadblock, Detour, Movement documents that tell where the teams will go) that were associated with the leg to be accepted at the pitstop. If a team arrives last, they may be eliminated. Most of the time, they are, but in some cases, the leg will be a non-elimination round (the teams don't know that). If that's the case, the team in last after that leg can continue, but with a caveat. They'll either hand their money to the host, or go through a speed bump, a task that only the team in last place will do for the next leg only. 

 

EDIT: That's the basic gist of it. At times, the racers that are far ahead can be caught up by the other teams if the building they're supposed to arrive at doesn't open until the morning. Think of it like rubberbanding in Mario Kart 64. I'd love an Amazing Race RP, but if you're going to be the host, I can play along with Total Drama Island. However, I've never watched the show unfortunately.

I am willing to participate in this as a contender but I do not have a good grasp on RP. IF there is any RP I can do it is being I in a way put into a different world. Yes I will follow the world’s rules and physics. But when it comes to personality I am quite universal. I don’t know if you have herd of something called alignments, But basely alignments are what makes a person do or think in a certain way. Here is a link to a website that describes alignments

My alignment is True Neutral. I think on my feet and I am good at twisting words around to mean something that is not intended. The only problem is when I twist these words I just cringe and understand what they meant without actually twisting there words. I suggest that if I were to be taking part in this be warned on how you use small words like 'if' and 'any'. I pay attention to those small details and that gives me a lot of flexibility in my character because it tell me I have an option here on how to go about doing a task.

 

 

Hopefully this helps a little if you want to change anything or make me act a certain way let me know I might be able to add it into my personality.

You're welcome for this planned roleplay! I'm unsure of what game show I'm trying out. I'm stuck between The Amazing Race, Total Drama Island, and Mafia. For me, Mafia is the easiest to set up, but the hardest to roleplay. The Amazing Race and Total Drama Island is easy to roleplay, but hard to set up.

However, on TDI, if you lose than it's fair.
